Was Lex lying when he told Lana he'd called Clark? Neither of the Kents mentioned it.

He'll say anything he thinks will get Lana to think he's a decent guy.

Lex is a liar.

I hecka laughed when I read that; I don't know why.. actually I do because well, it's true. I'm sure Martha didn't tell Clark because it's not important to her, and Clark has been ignoring Lex's phone calls, if he really did call.

I don't doubt Lex has called Clark, I mean what kind of evil master mind (in training) would he be if he let JK's death pass him by when he could to use it, or try to use it.

It's an easy lie to catch, too. If Lana asked Clark, and he said, No, Lex didn't call, then Lex loses big Lexana points. He probably did call, just so he could tell Lana he called. :p

Yeah, even if he wasn't going to try to use JK's death to manipulate Clark in some way he'd still would called to score browny points with Lana.

I think he did call and for both those reason.

Not as bad a liar as the BDA though. ;)

Yes, but Lex lies to get things out of people. Clark lies to protect himself -- and sometimes to protect others. That's the difference.;)

Liar liar hair on fire!! Ups Lex doesn't have hair! Why won't he buy a wig;)

If Lex really wanted to contact Clark he should have used yellow pages you can find him everywhere ;)

A liar's still a liar. :p

One of the things that Clark and Lex both have in common is their duplicity.

And when Lex inevitably kills Lionel with that revolver then that will be something else they also will have in common.

Can't agree with that. If I've got a friend who's trying to get away from an abusive person and that person asks me where my friend is, and I lie about, I'm not going to feel that I've breached my integrity.

All lies are not created equal.

That's true but the downside of his lies is a lot more people are now dead or an asylum from knowing his secret. I dont know if Lex called or not - why wouldnt he just go over to the barn instead of trying to call? Perhaps he did and Clark wasnt there, no clue. I do believe Lex did try, though, as it doesnt show him bad enough yet to not care. He did warn the psycho woman against hurting Jonathan, was turning to report her when he was attacked, and was at the funeral. I believe he always had respect for him adn wanted acceptance, yet was tired of the holier than thou attitude and just getting more bitter inside. Hard to know as the show doesnt follow all the plot lines it should

I do believe he tried as well. I think throughout the season, whenever Lex said stuff like, "I still care about Clark," or "Maybe we can find some common ground, Clark," I think he really did mean it. The problem is the old Boy Who Cried Wolf syndrom. Because Lex has told so many lies, people don't believe him when he's telling the truth, which he WAS when he said that he cared about Clark, etc. We saw in "Vessel", even though Lex was acting evil, that he did miss Clark as well.
