I grew up and as a young child remember superman as being christopher reeves. as i got older and watched all the superman movies that came o ut and watched some of louis and clark (dean was an okay superman but he never had the superman look.. he was to boyish, and his voice just seemed to light)

over the past 5 seasons ive watched tom welling grow into the roll of superman (or the becomings of superman) on most occasions i found him falling short due to bad writing. and the directions the show was going (mainly circles)

i dont know if it was just the camera angles or the excellent acting but tonight i seen the shadow of christopher reeves superman in tom welling.

episode 100 left me bitter at the show i was completly ready to just ditch the show and move on to something that wasnt going to end where it started every season. i think alot of it was that most of us felt that with an episode as serious as ep100 that it easily should have been an hour to two hours long or even a "to be continued" episode.

after watching tonights episode i think i know why i was so bitter.. and thats closure.. episode 100 left us all with no closure the funeral didnt provide it... and the bad directing/writing of ep100 just to many "whys" in most peoples mouths... it just felt pointless to be left adrift like we were..

ep101 was the ending that ep100 should have had..to the writers and actors of ep101 thank you.. once more i feel like i can believe that a boy can fly.

I agree about the Closure. Ep100 left me kinda up in the air. I myself kinda questioned the direction of the show, but man the emotions in this episode gave me the closure i needed. It definatly made up for ep100.

You might be on to something.

I thought tonights episode did a very nice job all the way around. I think there was so much going on in this episode that wasn't even spoken. Very well acted I thought. I really appreciated the ending. That by far was the best.

Yeah, he would be a good Superman, because he is such a great Clark Kent

Not to drag out a point often mentioned, but as it's the title of the thread it's Chris REEVE. The Superman from the 1950s TV show was George REEVES.

Yeah, it's not whether you watched the 1950s show (although all the B&W eps are now out on DVD, so go for it), it has to do with repsecting Chris. I'm sure Dana would prefer he be referred to as REEVE ;)

I'm with you on the whole issue of closure. Episode 100 threw us an emotional curve-ball, and then left it hanging in the air a few inches from the bat!

Tom Welling is getting so good at being Clark Kent. One of the excellent directions Vengeance pointed to was Clark is becoming a man, independent of his father. He knows what he needs to do. Even his stance in most of the scenes was more confident than before. I LIKE IT! Even though I NEVER want to see Tom Welling in Superman's costume, I think he models Superman's strong presence!

Reckoning wasn't supposed to provide closure. It was the lack of closure that threw a lot of people off, but it was supposed to be shocking and impactful but also leave you wanting a lot more. Then they gave us more in this episode.

If it weren't for the elements that Reckoning set up, this really would have been a throw away episode. Instead, it had an emotional depth to it that filler ep's usually don't.

the writers aren't stupid-

if we still had questions from ep 100 then were going to watch the episode after-

they used it to help get ratings up

I almost saw Reckoning as a 2nd pilot. It has kinda set the tone and story for the last half of this season. I think that if they had tied everything up, they wouldn't have much to build on from here on out.

Also, a quick question. I mispelled my name when I typed it in here. Is there a way to change it or am I stuck with Chole?
