I thought ED was listed in the credits from the spoilers, though I am not complaining, an ep with Lois is always refreshing.

Chloe was great though

She will play a big part next week

Yeah. Definitely missed Lois. Wished she was there to talk Clark down like when she pulled Clark off Alicia's killer. Lois will help Clark hear his dad's voice and guide him to stop the bad guys but not kill them.

Jonathan's 'platitudes' which many posters have disparaged, have guided and influenced Clarkman's life and he doesn't need anyone other than say Martha to re-iterate those lessons in values.

I didn't miss lois, I never do, but I do have to admit that I did NOT like seeing her terrified or whatever in the previews. Made me feel bad for her and that is a new sensation.

I know, it is hard for me to believe myself, sort of makes me sick to my stomach. I think I will be better tomorrow when the light of day hits me.

Not sure Nois would have been a great character to have around Clark during the Kents mourning period. I dont think her normal Clark bashing would have been appreciated.....didnt miss her anyway.

It's always kind of weird to me when they have whole episodes where seemingly important characters play no part whatsoever.

Plus, Lois is awesome!

I missed her and I can't wait until next week.
Since John is gone, she and Martha are my favorite characters.

Just wish Lois scenes could have replaced Pinkie's... Oh, never mind... The last thing I need to do is to start a guerrilla war w/ the Clana ship...

I like Lois, but im sorry, ED is not that great of an actor. So an episode without her was refreshing.

I agree w/ the analogy, just not the target. I feel that way about KK... She needs to learn "range" from AM  Sorry... got a little off-topic there, but had to vent. :(

ED is great, especially since she hasn't been on the show as long. I remember I couldn't stand much of the acting from the main cast in seasons 1 and 2. And I agree, it would have made more sense to have Lois find the watch. Having worked with PaKent, she had grown really fond of him. And she's street smart, she could have found the watch. I love Lois and can't wait for the next ep.

She doesn't need to be there all ths time. She's just not that important.

Plus she can get irratating, small doses are better.

I love ED, but yeah her acting does need to be polished a lil bit. But you have to remember that she's pretty much a new comer, I mean the only thing I've seen her in is show like Andromeda, Tru Calling which are like B shows, then there was the B move House of the Dead. So I think its just her roles. Also you have to think that this is the beginning of the Lois & Clark relationship, and in the beginning she is supposed to annoy him, and thats what AC & MM are writing her to be. Look at Tom, he acted retarded in the first season but as he's went on you can see a separation of TW and CK, I mean he actually cried in this, and looked like an actual person in distress. So I think as the show progresses ED along with the rest will grow and shine.Whewww:p

Any ep without Lois always flows more freely; it's always painfully obvious when Lois in on screen that she's had to be shoehorned in once again because her presence is unneccessary and is detrimental to the show not to mention that Chloe out-Loises her at every turn. Lois onscreen is just a waste.

I didn't really miss Lois. In fact, Lois and Lana usually seem out of the loop, so I thought that the episode, by not focusing so much on them, actually got a lot of scenes and character development in. All Lois would have done was whine and tell Clark to get his act together instead of being senstive, etc.

I like Lois, her smart-allick sense of humor is quite humurous, dont' care much for Lana, can't wait for the Lois & Clark relationship to start happening.. :)

Same goes for Lana aka the irritating one ;)

Lois not important? She's one of the most important characters on the show, even if this isn't Superman, she's still more important than Chloe or Lana.

ya.. she'll play a big part down the road, just as lex would for example

Lois not important?
Agreed on point one. 100%.
Agreed on point two. I think she needed to be in here somewhere, at the expense of 'Lana-time', even if it was just to make a caustic comment that caused Clark to tell her to "go **** herself" (and jump in Crater Lake in the process)! Anything... I was hoping for a break from Clana-Pinkie-Angst, but I didn't really get it.

Well I'd say Lois is very important as much as Lex and Clark, they are the Big 3 of the mythology. Even SV Magazine agrees:

"She's [Lois] a very important character to the Smallville/Superman mythology and she is a series regular in season five, so she is indeed now a big - and crucial - part of Smallville."

There was no clana angst in this episode, it was actually kind of progressing.

And as for the importance of Lois;
i like Lois at times, i got alot of good laughs during Season 4.
She is an important character in the Superman history, (Clark's wife). But on the show, what role does she really play?
Smallville is about Clark's youth, therefore both Chloe and Lana is more important than her.

I hope you didn't misconstrue my point... I was AGREEING that Lois IS important... much more than Lana at this stage...

I just didn't think she "fit" in with this ep, that's all. My opinion, you're entitled to yours. There are supporters on both sides... ;)

Lois isn't as important as Chloe and Lana yet. She is down the road, but not now.

Ok, you can argue about Lois being important or not for the show or if ED acting skills are good or lousy, alright, everyone's entitled to have their opinions.

But of one thing I'm sure is that once again, character development was ignored, crippled and understimated. The relationship between Lois and the Kents was fed up this season and reinforced with her being the campaign manager for Johnatan (shreds a tear) and then, we don't get her mourning process, we don't see that side of her character and you can blame TBTB for that.

she should have been in this ep, we should have seen her pain, for continuity's sake, if you like.

Lois is not the only one who suffers this mishandling of her character. Pretty much every character in SV have had this problem.

I read that ED was signed to appear in only 13 episodes this season, so we can expect 9 Lois-less episodes.

I expected Lois to be there because she helped Martha out at the Talon, used to live in their home for goodness sake. She brought Shelby into their lives. I think Lois would have been nice to Clark and NOT bash him. She would have been her softer self like at the end of Aqua or when Alicia died and she pulled Clark off of Alicia's killer. You're all forgetting her when she's good to Clark.
