Now that is how to close a character on a good note....if only Alicia got the same treatment...not as important but come on.

I don't know if this will be the last of th efashbacks,I thought I read that he appears later on in the season, much in the same way. I would love for Clark to go to the FOS and hear not only Jor-El but Jonathan as well.
The final sceen was very touching, The bye- and wave, the freeze frame on the tv screen, I sobbed.
I think they made a big mistake killing Jonathan, there is now an unfillable void.

This should have been aired directly after last weeks "Reckoning" episode or the two made into a two hr episode. Those two words from JK at the end of that video would have made a difference just by themselves.

I also liked it when Clark swore he heard his fathers voice yelling at him not to kill the mugger.

That was an intense scene, and if I am not mistaken, it seems like that its the first time Clark really cries, I was wondering if Tom didn't know how to cry on a scene, that is very important for a serious actor, cause when pete leaves he was crying and clark was like only doing sad puppy eyes, that really dissapointed me a bit and if you read the comics you know that supes cries once in a while, he always shows that he is more humana than us hehehe. Anyway, that scene made ME cry, I almost lost my father to a car accident, he was in a comma for almost a year (worst year ever) and I can't imagine how hard is going to be when he dies. So that scene really touched me and seeing supes crying, man that was heartbreaking!!

I loved the scene at the end, and I also got chocked up and misty eyed when Jonathan waved at the camera and said “Goodbye.” It was very fitting and reminded me of how one of my favorite Anime series actually ends (with a wave and “Goodbye.” at the camera.)

I don’t think it was a mistake to kill Jonathan, if for no better reason than the character died in the comics as well. I also think it seemed like they were falling back a lot on Clark and Jonathan butting heads. I call it “The Football Syndrome.” Every other episode featured a scene that was reminiscent of Clark and Jonathan arguing over Clark wanting to play football.

The episode didn’t do much to advance the season arc, but it did a good job ending Jonathan’s involvement with the series.

It was a moving scene. That clip added to the death in 100 moved that to the top of my list of TV's most sad deaths. I got teared up myself which rarely happens. Just like Welling...I think that was the only time I have ever seen him cry, and boy did he really let loose. It almost seemed that he was really torn up that Schneider was really gone, because they were really close. It sorta didn't really set in for me until that scene. The "Bye, bye." was killer. It was almost like losing someone in real life, not setting in until later.

I am just glad that John Schneider got to say a "goodbye". I was so concerned that the writers were going to just have him die. No words to his family and none to the viewers. A VERY Touching scene that was a reasonable closure to a unnecessary departure.

I got sad...but I didn't cry. I cried during Reckoning though.
