She does seem to have a curse on men that she dates. Let's take a look:
Whitney: Killed in the Marines
Adam: Already dead
Jason: Killed by a meteor (mother killed by her while she was possed by Isobel)
Clark: Shot, thankfully brought back to life
I heard that she is a widow in the old Superman III movie... Poor girl, can't keep a guy for more than a season or so... :D

The way Smallville goes, maybe she "IS" meant for Clark and Jor-el is killing off all her love interests.
lol He might aswell, he does everything else in this show.
Isn't he supposed to be just an advanced version of a video diary?

I think the moral of the story is that we should all have excellent car insurance, not drive too fast, not make deals with men named Jor-El because it's bad for our heart. And never, never look at something Lionel Luthor shows you!! I hear it's killer!! :)

And only head to Smallville if you work for one of those accidents claims companies, u'll make millions.

I can just see it now...
The latest Geico commercial will feature the scene with Clark and Lana at the beginning of the second timeline.
Lana comments to Clark that the "last thing she thinks their relationship needs is more mysteries" Clark smiles and says" It's no mystery Lana, I just saved you hundreds on your car insurance by switching to Geico!" :D

IT'S WORSE THAN YOU THINK!
Consider all the people who have become involved with Lana:
She's indirectly responsible for all the victims of Harry in "Hourglass" - she left him alone to fall into the Kryptonite lake.
Bad Cop in "Obscura" - death by police after becoming psychically linked to Lana.
Byron in "Nocturne" - Hospitalized
Ryan in "Ryan" - Dead after Lana kisses him.
Ian Randall in "Dichotic" - half-dead after dating Lana
Tina Greer in "Visage" - impaled on broken window
(also Tina Greer's Mother as collateral damage to Tina's Lana-Love in "X-Ray")
Lana-Fu kicks the lecherous bully's ass in "Precipice"
Henry Small in "Witness"- Nearly Divorced
Emily Dinsmore from "Accelerate" - drowned
The Fish-boy from "Extinction" - shot
Seth from "Magnetic" - imprisoned
Assistant coach Altman's daughter in "Hereafter" - Lana left her alone, she got into accident and died.
Coach Altman - Burned up
Adam Knight in "Crisis" - Dead (again)
Emily Dinsmore's father in "Forsaken" - Impaled by clone of his daughter
Jason and Clark beaten nearly to death in "Spell"
She (Isobel) beat up the Chinese army in "Sacred"
Baby Evan in "Ageless" - Exploded
Brendan in "Forever" - Shattered
Genevieve Teague in "Commencement" - Stabbed with "air" stone by Isobel
Nam-Ek and Aethyr in "Arrival" - Weakened by Green K and tossed into Phantom Zone
Sucked Clark dry (and not in a good way) in "Thirst"
and, in "Pilot"
her wish-granting to Martha brought Clark to the Kents BUT ALSO brought the meteor shower down on top of her OWN PARENTS!
