Hello,
I've been reading this forum for a while now and find it very insightful, though never felt the need to personally post, until now. Was it just me, or did anyone else notice that fleeting look on Jonathan Kent's face, in his EYES, when his cell phone rang (call from Lionel Luthor), touching the center of his chest, which moved his red tie, just before he reached in for it the first time after he knew he had won the election?
Though I TiVo'd the episode (haven't missed one since the show's inception), I caught this the first time (it happens extremely fast) and have come to the same conclusion after watching it again. To me it seemed like being startled or shocked for a second as in experiening a transient advance warning sign or symptom, namely chest pain, shortly before the main cardiac event hits.
John Schnieder did an excellent job on the series, and especially in The Reckoning, and his character will be greatly missed. In the series ahead, any flashbacks with him are bound to bring tears to the eyes of many. I know it sure will to me. I lost my father to cardiac arrest and the kind of relationship that Clark had with his father is just like the one I had with mine.
Ciao!
P.S.
Other than pa Kent's tragic passing, the flying (or super-jumping) scene in the amazing Fortress of Solitude was incredibly touching, The music that accomapnied the scene, just beautful in Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound. It impacted me like the music in the movie Somewhere in Time (with the late great Christopher Reeve and the beautiful Jane Seymour).
I love Smallville and find all the characters interesting as written, their flaws and strengths. Also, Kristin Kreuk (Lana) is gorgeous, Allison Mack (Chloe) is cute and perky, Erica Durance (Lois) is hot and sexy and Annette O'toole (Martha) is an attractive mature women in her own right.
