View Full Version : Closure to Clark/Lana through Chloe?

I've always loved Clark and Lana together and of course, was disappointed to see the apparent demise of their relationship at the end of Reckoning. At least this time we got them together for half a season! I'm interested to see how the rest of the season plays out between them, as long as it is not another S3. I really hope that there is more closure for them coming up, like Lana accepting the fact that Clark is doing this to protect her and because he loves her so much. I don't want it to be another thing with Lana complaining about Clark hiding things from her. I hope that TPTB create a mature Lana who, though sad, grows to understand why Clark is doing what he does. I think that Chloe could be the person who helps Lana understand. She is the only person who knows what Clark did to save Lana, knows that in the end, he ended up losing his father, and having Chloe help her see (without telling her the secret) how much Clark has sacrificed would be awesome, in my opinion. I definitely need more closure to the relationship because this time I do feel that it's for good.

I too hope there's more closure. I'd actually like to see Clark push her away, her be upset, complain to Chloe, and Chloe to set her straight on how much Clark has sacraficed for her. They could still do what I've wanted all along was that Lana see who Clark really is, still love him but realize his destiny is too much for her.

How about let's see Lana chase Clark for once and maybe Clark do a little running away.
If Lana knew that Chloe knew Clark's secret, she'd be way pissed.

That is the cop-out Al and Co. have imposed and will not go back on as this marks the END of the CLANA!

It seems that Chloe is the only intelligent, mature, and understanding character on the whole show except Martha.

Yes that's for sure, and the pivotal one who just may hold everyone together in that Smallville TV Family!

Here, here! Chloe is the ONLY character who has shown even a modicum of intelligence since day one. Sure, she was blurry as to Clark's powers, but you could always tell that deep down she knew something (maybe the smoke coming out of her ears was a clue) but as a GOOD reporter (hell, she's GREAT) she wasn't going to confront him or spill the beans until she had the whole picture. Then once revealed (by Alicia), she immediately realized the utter turmoil in Clark & has stood by his side ever since. The funeral scene (w/ lana holding Clarks hand) was a direct 'slap in the face' to Chloe, no wonder she walked away so upset (you'll notice in retrospect Lois did not have the same "pained" look as Chloe). Chloe has done more & been more to Clark than Lana has ever been. I truly am sad for Chloe, she has pretty-much been dumped on from day one. Great reason to create a character, guys. So you can drive her into the ground, or use her as a "plug" when one of your plot 'holes' gets too big. :(

Heartfelt sentiment couldn't be more true about Chloe, whose name means "Blooming" as a Spring Flower!:)

I think Chloe's look at the funeral was because she knew how Clark really felt, the only person besides Martha who did. I don't buy that Chloe's character is being run into the ground by TPTB. Sure, they have not appreciated her in the past, but I don't see Chloe's role (and never have) as Clark's girlfriend. She is a pivotal character who plays an important role in Clark's life and she can do that without being romantically involved with him. I applaud TPTB for finally allowing Chloe to move on and rid her character of the Clark-obsessing.
Of course, I know some people love Chlark and I completely understand. I just love Chloe and Clark's friendship.

I think Chloe is above all that now... you can 'love' someone w/o being 'in love' w/ them, & I think that describes our Chloe (at least at this moment). But I disagree as to TPTB's handling of Chloe... AM has "defined" this character w/ grace, and she has been sorely underused in the grand scheme of things, unless needed for a plot device or filler material. I do have some hope for the future, as there are some "Chloe-centric" episodes on the way. I just pray TPTB don't screw them up like they did w/ Reckoning... :(

I think Chloe has been a great friend to Clark. She is to him what he needs...a best friend. The look that she gave Clark was strange...at first I thought she was angry at Clark because in a sense he allowed Jonathan to die. But I guess it could be that she pained because she knows that Clark will always feel guilty that he could not safe his father.
Anyway I do think that this is the end of the Clark/Lana saga. He gave up his father to save her life.

Chloe had a big part in the end of the last season and early this season, with knowing Clark's secret and revealing to him that she knows it. I think that she could be another big part of the storyline with helping Lana understand Clark's actions. There hasn't been a whole lot of Chloe/Lana interaction as of late and I'd love to see it again. I will never object to Chloe being overused though! How about someone new for Chloe? I'd love to hear about Jimmy again! ;)

If Chloe were to try and explain Clark's actions to Lana, she would be suspicious that Chloe knows the truth about him and would be more upset at Clark for not revealing it to her.

thats what i was thinking. as much as i want to see Chloe help lana understand, it just the matter of "How"? Chloe did say that she would never reveal his secret, so, if she did help lana understand, she has to do it in a way it wouldn't be noticable. or else lana would get suspicious. i doubt that she could do this in one conversation. i thinking it will be through a numerous amount of episodes that chloe will drop hints to lana just to get her thinking.
