The Clark/Lana thing was fine, for a few seasons, but now it's just stupid and MORE than played out. Part of me wishes Lana had died. I think after she became the reincarnate of that witch, she partially ruined the show.

They should have her move away. Like to Paris or something. :) But this time permanently.

Anyone else think she is just the worst character on the show? I mean, HOW many times can they do that same conversation.

Lana: "Tell me the truth, Clark."
CLark: [awkward silence]
Lana: "When are you going to start being honest with me?"

I'm guessing if it hasn't happened for the last 5 years, it won't happen.

Honestly. Utter crap at this point.

I like your topic header, you make it sound like a video game.

oh gosh.. the reincarnated witch... that was HORRIBLE. And only horrible because of how it was written. They could have done something interesting.. maybe play on the witch knowing Clark (or his ancestors)--i don't know. But the way they served it to us, it was fresh crap on a dirty garbage can lid.

This show seemingly has never been about Clark... but about LANA:
CK is infatuated w/ LANA
LANA is frustrated w/ CK's dishonesty
CK is jealous of LANA'S other BF's
Lex is now infatuated w/ LANA
LANA is jealous of Chloe's friendship w/ CK
Kryptonian magic made LANA a witch
Jason's mother was out to 'off' LANA
MK tells CK "maybe LANA's not for you"
JK gets 'pissed ' that CK disobeys him on acct of LANA
and so-on and so-forth...

About the only characters LANA hasn't either alienated (yet) or become too entangled with are:
MB (Lionel)- he seems to take her as the 1-dimensional character she is
Lois - since she & CK haven't 'connected yet'
Pete - but he's gone anyway so it doesn't matter
Dr Swann - but then HE was intelligent

Now... Reckoning. All about LANA. Sometimes she makes Clark look like 'filler' for the story.

I know I'm going to get "hate mail" for all of this, but now we're back to a potential "LexANA" arc... more about LANA? Is she REALLY this important to the story? I mean, REALLY?

She could have been killed off in Reckoning & STILL remained... as a ghost to haunt Clark the rest of his days. Then Al/Miles could continue to make it about LANA...

I really don't HATE Lana... but isn't this enough?

Yes that is true it is an up and down thing with them for "Half a Decade" almost 10 years, that is a long time for any one to endure!:(

yeah back in season one clana was kinda fresh and exciting, now i just want to tear my eyes out whenever she comes on screne cuz i know all she's gonna do is b#$%^ and moan at clark about lies or not giving her any sweet loving.

I think it's realistic the way Lana is acting. Any girl would get upset if all their boyfriend do is make one lie on top of another.. and not willing to make love with them for no reasonable reason. anddd.. it's the writer, if anyone's fault, who created the witchcraft storyline.

Still don't understand how can people can separate Lana from the writing. It's one and the same thing. Lana IS a piece of the writing.

forgive me if i'm wrong. But the show of smallville simply shows how much of an impact that Lana had in Clark's pre superman years.
I am one who is glad to see that Lana was simply more than a
blip on the map. After all, the comics never really focused on Clark and Lana's relationship.
If they had ended the dynamics of their relationship by the ned of season three, the story would simply have to come to an end. Cloie never truly excisted, Pete could only ad so much to the story, as for Loise she really does not know of Clark until the Daily Planet days. Smallville would have simply been about a young boy who came from Krypton helping his adopted parents on a farm.
Boy that sounds pretty exciting.
So my message is that none of you who are complaining so much about Lana would even be watching Smallville for if it were not for Lana.

I dont think anyone else in Smallville should die, I mean Clark finds it hard to remember anyone he's lost now, without adding to it.
Besides they just have to realise that Lana can be a friend to Clark, without always being the victim.
Does every episode have to be super powered battles?

Surely Clark had some regular days growing up? Can't he just have some episodes where they just hang out and have fun, If he must use his abilities every time, then maybe for something more light hearted, like when he uses his eyes to toast bread.

lol I'm sure that they can think of some light hearted fun things to do with him, while all his friend characters get a normal teenage day.

Problem is, we've all OVERDOSED on Lana. If TPTB had tempered it a bit, & created more interaction w/ other characters, many of us would not be so fed-up. All this LANA with little dilution makes Clarkie a dull boy.

lol She should be the next Sheriff, then she's got an excuse to feature in every episode.

Maybe it's late, but this made me laugh!

I wonder what a video game about Lana would be like, let's see.......

(This could be a whole thread unto itself :D)

It would be an Army Special Tactical Units type game, where at the start of every level General Lane would tell you:

"This is what that bimbo has done now and this is how we are going to rescue her"

Then on the last mission he finally has enough and offers $1000 to the Soldier who puts her out of her misery.

I like the way that Lana is characterized on the show. She seems to be the only one who reacts to events really. Clark has been lying to her constantly and she just can't take anymore of it. At the same time, his father died so she has to stay with him for a while.

Most of the time when Lana comes on screen, i feel like switching the computer off and throwing it against the adjacent wall!
But thats only sometimes!
If maybe they did'nt have so much Lana action (as in Clark saving her butt in each and every episode!) then it would make us miss her more, so we could appreciate her..(gee what a mouthful)

bascially we need less of Lana so when she does come on, we can love her again

Even though I do get tired of the constant push, pull, tug tow....I agree Smallville would not be the same without Lana

True, it would be much better.
