Prior to the funeral, when CK & Martha were alone in the farmhouse, did anyone else notice how much older she looked and that she did seem somewhat lost without JK around? One thing that I did find very satisfying about this scene was the talk that she had with Clark about how JK would have passed eventually and that this was not his fault. She is definitely a good mom to have.

I love Martha, she is a fantastic character, and I hope we get to see more of her and Clark later now that JK is gone.. But she seemed much older and "gone" after the funural.

That was absolutely heartbreaking to see, I was very disappointed with this episode and it was done in poor taste in my opinion.

I suppose she was made up to look older, just to show how much Jonathan's death affected her. And plus, I imagine if my husband died after so many years, and in such a brutal way, I don't think I'd have the heart to make an effort to look nice.

Loosing the one you love takes a lot out of you, especially if you have the all inclusive relationship that Johnathon and Martha had. She looked lost because she was. For all those years he had been there to put on the necklace, tell her how great she looked, and hold her hand through the trials. Now her hand was empty and you could see it on her face. I have a friend who was widowed at 28. For a while she lost that glow. Martha will return to her bright self, but it will take time.

If your husband just died, I doubt the first thing on your mind would be to put on make up.
