my single-word description: "Almost."

there were so many great elements in this episode that ALMOST made it work. the story ALMOST moved forward. Clark ALMOST made the right choice. i ALMOST choked when Clark "flew." i ALMOST cried when Lana died. i ALMOST kept from cursing at the TV when Jonathon died instead. and i ALMOST want to give up on the show, for ALMOST achieving its great potential before cravenly slinking back into the comfortable mediocrity that has befallen it.
