I absolutley agree with you 100%!!! Where was The Boss? He could have at least made a cameo. It would have been amazing if we got to see Pete's face flash across the screen, standing next to Martha, it would have made the episode alot better.

Heck where was Senator Jennings? Or Gabe Sullivan (assuming if he really hasnt fallen off the face of the Earth as what appeard to have happend) Werent Gabe and him friends? And what about Martha's parents??? Even if they didnt approve of Jonathan you would think they would of been there for her.....
Naw I am just messing around. They cant bring everyone back after all.

Well, we didn't get to see all the mourners so perhaps maybe...

There was a lot of people missing. Like most of the people that supported him in the election. He did win so you would think most of Kansas would be there

I don't know, but that made me mad. There were a ton of people close to the Kents that were not there.

Okay, it wasn't officially mentioned, but I believe the Pete character may very well have been represented at Jonathans funeral. :)
I was watching the episode again, & when the crowd starts leaving the funeral,
right there placed in the very front, was this black dude who was by himself, and VERY "Sam Jones III" looking.
I know it wasn't actually Sam, but it's quite a coincidence.
The sunlight is reflecting on everyone's faces, pretty bright, but when he steps out of the sunlight, you'll see what I mean.
HERE (http://www.esnips.com/web/rgworkfolder1), I made a clip of it.

Pete wasn't there because one of Lionel's men found him in Wichita. He is currently being tortured for information on Clark Kent. Run to Wichita Clark, before it's too late!

LOL!
Actually, I thought I saw Pete.
I'm guessing the gravesite service was private (Lionel and Lex probably crashed it) with a memorial service and funeral held at a church somewhere earlier in the day, where THOUSANDS of mourners attended. Nice thought.

hey with the current state of technology, they could have made a CG Pete and stuck him in there. Heck, they did it with Forrest Gump and that was over 10 years ago.
they could have done the same with Martha's dad (or was he there). i guess i have to watch it again :\

Pete was on ER Thursday night! He doesn't have superspeed like Clark, so he couldn't be in both places at one time!

Maybe they should of made together a stick picture of Pete and let Erica hold it since I stole this idea from her idea of being put into season 4 credits as a stick person

Like I posted in another thread:
Pete's absence was a direct slap in the face to fans and viewer of a talented and loved character who knew Clark's secret and gave him a hug before he left the show to be with his mom!
The mere mention of Pete's name should not have been enough but the extra mile should have gone by the DC Execs and Al/Miles to secure Sam Jones III for the funeral cameo which would have added poignancy and sentiment to Clark's dilemma and sorrow!:(

Espechally with how many time's Pete not only mentioned but also expressed how much Joanthan and Martha means to him he ought to of been there considering how Pete once said 'I ahve known your dad as long as i have known mine;' (not a direct quote but whatever)
Petes off the show get over it :-)

It is the expression of anger that Pete was not there from the beginning to end!
Knowing he is off the show for good, people will move on as Clark has!

Let's assume Pete did contact the Kents, or was in fact at the funeral.
Sam Jones III, on the other hand, was not present. TV ain't always pretty. Terry Farrel had a falling out with paramount. She asked for her character in Deep Space 9 not to be killed off....so....they killed Jadiza, not the Dax symbiont, so there. Goodbye Terry. Years ago I met Wil Wheaton (I have a thing about Star Trek, I guess), and he did not have good things to say about the behind-the-camera events of Star Trek production.
I don't really know if Sam had any falling out with WB, but let's move on. Pete did contact the Kents, even if we didn't see it (and don't get me wrong, it would have been a nice touch to have him there).

Yeah even if Pete hadnt seen the Kents in awhile I like tot hink that Pete and Clark probably talk on the phone from time to time and being that Jonathan was a new elected senator Pete would of known about his death from watching the news or in a Newspaper. I like tot hink that between the time of Jonathan's death and the funeral at sometime Pete did call to give his condolences. We dont have to see everything to put some things we want to believe together.
And Sam's problem cant be with the WB or he wouldnt of been on 7th Heaven
Why did Sam leave the show anyway???

pete should have been there to support clark b/c it would be hard time for him considering his dad just died and that he needs to be back on the show

Yep, he came by the place I was working at the time. He didn't want to talk much about Star Trek, he was more into talking about computers and other techy things. Seemed like a nice guy to me....

Prior to his passing, herr Ross was far too busy with his new career in The City: http://members.tripod.com/originalvigilante2/blackvulcan.jpg
The use of material for his superhero uniform will be a concept later stolen by Clark - because, based on the descriptions of the upcoming episodes, the "writers" decided that Clark is going to be incapable of any original thought or creation, and will instead plagiarize everything that he sees for his future persona.

um...yea.
Pete's gone. He's not coming back. There's nothing anyone can do about it.
...And he wasn't that great of a character anyways.

that's why they could have used a CG Pete for the funeral. not like anybody would know the difference.
although to say he wasn't a good actor isn't fair as the writers never gave him anything to work with.
i mean they made him root for remy zero for god's sake. no wonder he wanted out.
