So do any of you watch that tv military series, JAG? I love that show. Harm and Mac are my favorite characters (as I am a big time H&M Shipper.)

Gunny is pretty cool to and so is Harm's brother, Sergei.

I love the show. Mac is very attractive.
Gunny is cool, but Bud is hilarious! It sucked when he got his leg blown off.
Harm is a pimp. He should have a ton of medals by now, he has done so much.

I haven't been able to watch JAG in the longest time since I don't have a TV at school.... it's so frustrating since the last episode I saw was the season finale last season!!!! And apparently JAG isn't that big with the internet/tech savvy crowd so I can't even find episodes... well.... on the internet!

kf6tac: If you want you could try this website. It doesn't have video clips of the episodes but I know that Sqrl (the one that runs the place) posts pictures of the episodes.

I am just glad they are doing the dating offscreen! The whole Webb and Mac thing just seems wrong!
I love JAG and have since it first premiered! I was skeptical when it moved to CBS and they got rid of Meg and replaced her with Mac... but they hit a homerun! Catherine Bell is great and her chemistry with DJE is great. The whole cast is great actually.
Hard to believe they are in the middle of season 9!

Yea it is good that Mac and Webb are dating off screen. Just seeing Mac date and then get engaged to Mic Brumby was a Harm and Mac shippers worst nightmare!!! Its good it didn't work out though. But scratch that, Mac dating Webb is even worse!!!!

Speaking of Mic Brumby, do any of you know how that actor died? they did a special thing at the end of one of the episodes for him, but it didn't say how he died.

SWJaggy

Yea, Trevor Goodard (the actor that played Mic) died of a suicidal drug overdose. Quite tragic. Especially since the last thing he ever did was play a pirate in Pirates of the Caribbean movie.

Hard to believe they are in the middle of season 9!

Yeah... almost 9 seasons under the belt and still not a DVD release to be seen! They need to get hopping on that - I'd definitely buy it, and I haven't even bought the Smallville DVDs yet. C'mon people, give a JAG fan something to work with before I give up and start watching The Practice or something!

Seriously, they do need to start craking on those JAG DVDs. There's practically one for every tv show except JAG & Charmed.

By the way: New episode of JAG this Friday.

Does anyone watch the spin-off NCIS, by the way? I didn't really like it when they first introduced the concept on that one episode of JAG... but for some reason if I see it on TV I'll watch it. In a lot of ways it's just too much like a CSI rip-off, although I never really watched CSI either.

SWJaggy

I'm not a big fan of NCIS. Come to think of it, I'm not a big fan on all spin-offs.

Hey all JAG fans... just thought I'd put up a place for us to gather since Angel has like a thread per episode or something weird going on. Haha. Anyway... just saw "What If", which is like the first eppy I've seen in awhile. And now I have the theme music stuck in my head....

Big Albowski

I love JAG! "What If" was a cool episode and an interesting look at the roads not taken! Bud sure was better off to some degree... money, his leg and still gets the girl... even if it's a little later in his life!

Yeah that's true, I never did think about the whole part about still having his leg... any clue how many JAG eps are left in the season?

I love JAG too, and I don't know why. I'd leave it on after Joan of Arcadia and really enjoyed the intelligent scripts and the fantastic acting.

It always amazes me just how unheralded JAG is! For nine years it has been one of the most entertaining and well done shows on TV and gets almost no credit! The show is strong in all categories... acting, writing, action, drama, comedy, romance... it's almost the perfect show! It's not often you find a show that goes that long and maintains quality!

It's been on for NINE years? Really? *pouts* I guess I'm kind of late in the ball game, huh?

I hate the fact that they moved JAG from Tuesday nights to Fridays particularly because I have to tape it while watching STARGATE SG1, but I love this show.
I enjoyed the "what if" episode as well and I also liked last weeks episode where Mac has to bring a prisoner to jail after the young woman is convicted of drug use, only to find out that she had an allergy to poppyseeds.

Yeah, JAG really has been going for nine years. I'm upset that after nine years of success they haven't decided to release a DVD set yet. I always thought it was funny when watching the Season One episodes (back when they weren't heavily supported by anyone, especially the Navy) and you'd see that a lot of their shots of F-14s, aircraft carriers, etc. were actually ripped straight from other Paramount features like Top Gun. One of my friends was telling me once (in an episode where they had to go to Central America for some reason) that the scenes came right from Clear and Present Danger, just with Harrison Ford edited out and David James Elliott edited in.

Colonel Jack O'Neill

Yeah, I remember that episode Harm and his then assistant Meg, or Peg, were in Central America investigating the case of a Marine guard who had killed someone he thought was trying to break into the embassy. Turns out the kid was right and he was doing his job. The person he shot was a part of a terrorist group, he was trying to break in and kill the ambassador, I'm glad I wasn't the only one that scene with the cars was familiar to.

President_Luthor
04-23-2004, 06:28 PM
Yeah, I remember that scene. It's the one where the drug lords were firing rockets at the convoy going down a narrow laneway. They probably ripped deleted scenes, being careful that Harrison Ford didn't show up in any of them.

JAG really is a great show and it's too bad it doesn't get the recognition it deserves ... thanks again to the viral spread of Reality Television. Why The Apprentice's Omarosa and friends or the latest Bachelor/Bachelorette deserve more attention than the JAG regulars is beyond my comprehension.

Yeah... I really have no clue why CSI gets all the fuss... I've watched the show a few times and it's nothing spectacular. Granted I'm a chemistry major so a lot of the stuff they do in their labs I'm like "Yeah I played with that machine. And that one too. And that! Heck I could be one of their lab techs!" That and I totally lost all respect in CSI: Miami when every single person on screen repeatedly mispronounced heptan-2-one. It's HEPTAN-2-ONE and it rhymes with CONE! It's not pronounced like heptan-2,1 which is a non-existent chemical!!!!

Okay... go JAG

Your comment is SOOOOO true...I am ACTUALLY in the Navy...and I know that for Rabb being a fighter pilot, and a JAG Corps officer...he doesn't have squat for medals/ribbons...Well...except for the Navy Cross...but I think the producers need to do a little more research into stuff like that...

Yeah, Harm should have a blazer-full of ribbons and medals. JAG is definitely one of the most under-rated shows on television and I'd wish more people took some time off reality TV and tuned into this great show.

They're always timely and do lots of ripped-from-headlines stories. Maybe some people are afraid it might be all gung-ho GI Joe, when it actually deals with a lot of human issues that don't necessarily involve the military.

The cast is great and Bud is definitely one of the funniest characters on TV.

JAG's an awesome show.

Well I watched my first episode of JAG tonight and liked it. I won't lie though, Catherine Bell is the reason I gave it a chance and I'm glad I did. Now I have at least one show for every weekday.

I've watched this show for a long time and it still doesn't get old. It was sad to see the Admiral retire but his replacement, the USMC General.. Is turning out to be not so bad.

At one time I was afraid the writers were starting to run out of fresh ideas but with plenty of real life issues to get ideas from, they continue to have plenty of fresh material to work with that our real men and women in the Armed Forces might have to deal with. Keeps it interesting.

I miss the admiral and I haven't seen Bud's wife lately, but, it is a pretty good show. I try to watch it, but, it is on a bad night for TV so I stick to the USAnetwork reruns.

You guys know David James Elliot (Harm) is leaving the show at the end of the season?

I quit watching this show a looooong time ago. It just got too cheesy to watch.

President_Luthor

I think the events of the past few years gave them some story ideas they'd never have even four/five years ago. I agree in the sense that: how many times can they do stories about Mac and Harm defending soldiers in friendly fire incidents, piloting mishaps and 'breaking the chain of command'-type cases? The ep. that was addressing the Abu Ghraib situation was one which broke that too-familiar mould.

We might be seeing the tail end of the series with Elliot's departure, because changing one of the leads seems pretty risky for a series that's creatively on its last legs.

I always loved how this show always presented the military as honorable. Maybe it is unrealistic to have a fighter pilot lawyer, but at least it always painted the Navy, etc in a good light. It's nice that they are finally putting out all the seasons on DVD. I think they are up to season 6 now. :)

I bought the first 2 seasons recently (good sale) and have finally gotten to the pilot. Wow, the show really evolved from the pilot. I didn't even remember seeing it, but I see how it started and have even more appreciation for where they took the series. CBS really retooled the show. OK, maybe I should watch the rest of season 1 to make judgments, but the pilot has a very different feel than later seasons.

I love this show and still do, I was just watching the season finale on YT. Wow I was still in high school when the show was still on CBS. I bought the DVDs only from 1-7 season...I still have to buy 8-10. Harm and Mac were always my fav couple DJE and CB portrayed the characters real well and had great chemistry, loved Bud...too funny. Gunny and Tiner their banter and interactions were always entertaining, the Admiral, PO Coates, Harriet and don't forget Sturgis...they were one big family...This show was also part of the reason why I joined the Navy...great comradery, always looking out for one another, and everything about the show really depicted that in real life. I'm hoping for a movie or some kind of reunion...now that would be awesome =D
