Did you guys notice when Clark and his Mom were walking and Mom said:
"Maybe she isn't the one for you."
Then Clark replies:
"I can't imagine loving someone else.."
THEN...Lois pulls up and says:
Have you guys seen the future...um..Senator?"
I ean that was truly a great way of kind of subliminally telling us that Lois is the future? I know the Chloe/Lois merge ideas, and I have seen the Clark whining about this talk thread, but this was a great way to take us into chapter 2 of the Clark love life and show us that Lois is truly what we are headed for. What do you guys think?

Al Gough says that they have a plan for Clark and Lois, but it's not possible yet because of the movie.

The pause between the "future" and "senator" was Lois getting distracted by the sound of the anvil falling.

Timester, I look forward to it, I'm sick to death of Clana. Bring on Lois & Clark.

Yeah, I don't think there was anything "subliminal" about it. It wasn't as bad as the dream "about a guy in a red cape" from Commencement though.

Can't wait for Clois.
looking forward to it as well. We need some new material on this show otherwise, it gets repetitive.

I thought I wasn't the only one who saw that. The writers are just dropping anvils with Lois and Clark.

I think I'm actually hoping for them to move towards Clois next season. I've always been very neutral on the 'ships, and supported all of Clark's relationships for the most part, but I believe we need some foward progress now. I'd like to see Clark and Lois get closer as this year progresses, with perhaps romance next season.
BUT, should this happen, I'd really want Chloe to find love too. I'd love for Chlark to happen, but I just don't believe it will :(

I would love to see Clark with Lois. She really has a personality that creates her own story and she can definitely take care of herself. Clark has saved her a few times, but with things that are not as apocalyptic as Lana's. She also is not whiny and although she refuses to say it, she actually does appreciate Clark for all he does. They would make a great duo. If she knew everything then the story would develop wonderfully.

As timester pointed out, Al Gough did say in a recent interview that they did have plans for Lois...They just have to wait till the movie is out. Maybe thats a hint in itself on how the series will end, Clark moving to Metropolis permanently after finally becoming Superman and getting a job at DP along side Lois. Maybe? Just a thought.

I mentioned this is this episode's quotation thread... and it's perfect... I think this was the best hidden inside joke yet regarding this subject

Yep that was some foreshadowing.

I figured that's what was going to happen, but people kept saying, no there won't be Clois in Smallville ;)

Oh it will happen alright.
Maybe they won't fall head over heels in love with one another, but at least one of them will fall for the other, I'm sure of it. I just have a very strong feeling it will be Clark that starts having feelings for Lois.
It will most likely happen next season (It's a very safe bet there will be one due to the great ratings Smallville's been getting).
By that time Superman Returns will have already been released to theaters and the WB will loosen their grip on Lois and her relationship with Clark. Maybe Clark will even be able to convince Lois to go on a date with him. ;)

I'm sorry but NO NO and NO!!!
Al and Miles should not be alowed to touch Lois&Clark with a ten feet poll! Isn't it enought that they ruined Clana now you want them to ruin Clois too? No Clois on THIS show with THEESE wrighters!

Oh I agree all the way, as much as I want a Clois relationship on the show it totally scares me the thought of them doing a Clois relationship. They suck at writing relationships.

No Clois!! I boycott her even being on the show. They're not supposed to meet yet! and I don't like the way they write her. Maybe a hint of Clois at the *very* end of the show, but no more.

Clark and Lana aren't even supposed to have a relationship now either if you want to get technical. They don't follow any one version of the mythos, this is their own interpretation.
Yup, Lana was never Clark's "obsession" and I guess, the more you tell these writers that this and that shouldn't be done that way, the more they'll write about it. . . They want to break free from the box or pedestal we put Superman and his mythos in. . . But in the process, they really are making a muck out of all SUperman mythos they delved into. .. I wouldn't want them to ruin Clois. They already have ruined Clark Kent in the eyes of the many Smallville viewers, let us just have our untouched and unsacrileged Clois. . . Although, I am not one to stop it from happening either 'coz I have been craving for a Clark and Lois relationship since LnC ended. . . It's all good that the movie is coming out soon but I'm sure that that will just leave me wanting for more CLois. . . Oh, I am definitely torn in this subject. . .

i know they have to wait until the movie comes out before they play around with the clois theme but why? is it due to legal issues or something???

I'm guessing it's because they don't want anything to usurp the movie and a Clois relationship on SV would most likely do that, since the Clois relationship is a big part of the movie.

Lana and Lois are as different as night and day. I think that these writers might have a more solid approach to Clois as she is truly a much more solid character. However Mitko, I see your stress, I am scared too.

I think Clois would be better written then Clana b/c the writers don't have the same reverent attitude towards Lois that they have towards Lana. Clark, Lex, the writers, everyone, put Lana up on a pedastal and make her some unattainable perfection. While they write Lois much more normal, real and down-to-earth. Clark is more assertive and active around Lois (and Chloe is even more of a positive influence). Not to mention snarkier, which I think he wears well.
So, I'd like to see them take steps towards the future. Since they introduced Lois, they should let the Clark/Lois relationship start to evolve. JMHO

As much as I want to see the movie, I hope it doesn't screw up future SV plans too much. Seeing more Clois in future seasons would be great.

I agree, Lois would make an interesting love interest, especially as involved as his powers have become to his life. He is very close to being Superman, and this movie could truly clash the idea of what SV has accomplished with her. It seems a lot this movie is centered around the love he lost when he left for all that time and how Lois has moved on. However even though this plot seems weak, it would say he knew Lois before he dissappeared to the FOS which although clashes with history in comic sense, it truly does give the SV theory of a Lois in the past a definitive mark. So they might be working together and this might be better than we think.
