With the awesome security he's got, I'm sure the new sheriff would be a real winner.

I was very sad to see Sheriff Adams go. It was so unexpected, and she had been on what seems like forever too! Probably one of my favorite minor characters, she didn't have goo brains like the other sheriff. All in memory of Sheriff Adams.:(

Ima miss her she was so funny, it woulda been cool to see her n Clark do some crime fighting

If she didn't go, she might have been able to push Clark into law enforcement instead of journalism. She pimped the law enforcement career again when Clark found the tracking devise on Lana's SUV.

Good by Sheriff. At least she died protecting the town she loves. She was great.

I liked her and was said to see her go as well. I knew it was coming the second she stepped into Luthor's mansion.

Let's hope we get a new KA Sheriff.

My jaw dropped, I always thought they might kill her off but in the back of my mind I was thinking "Probably not"

I don't really see why the sheriff was killed. I can only come up with a few possible reasons:

1a. That she is the plot device who gets buried in the next episode. However, Jor-El said someone Clark loves who dies.

1b. If it is the Sheriff that is buried next episode, then Jor-Els prediction could be extended even longer.

1c. It looked like to me as if Lana is going to be talking on her cell phone while driving and then she gets hit by a truck. However, if 1a and 1b are true, then Lana isn't being buried.

2. The actor has other issues and the producers canned her, letting this be her last episode.

Otherwise, I don't see any reason for her death.

Hahaha. I'm glad she got offed. I didn't like that loud redneck.

This season, they promised me everything I wanted to see...well, I wanted to see Sheriff Adams get offed. So yay!

I hated her, but she was just starting to improve and even be likeable, and now she's dead.

That tends to happen on shows. When a character you hate is going to die they start improving and FINALLY stop being annoying- then die.

superspider02

sucks they killed the sheriff she was funny at times. Atless she lasted longer then the first one.

I always liked the sheriff. I hated that, although she died trying to save Lex and Lana, neither one ever mentioned her death later on. Lana was just whining to Clark about how Lex saved her, Lex never mentioned her at all and Clark, who found her lifeless body, had nothing to say, instead having to whine to Chloe about Lex helping Lana. Sheriff Adams deserved at least some mention later on. I thought she was rather an interesting character.

margroks, that is an intersting observation that I didn't notice before. Sheriff to me was a decent character, and I expected Clark to show some remorse for her death.

They killed Sheriff Adams! Noooo! I liked her. And shot in the back, what a way to go. Smallville is more dangerous than the old west.

Isn't it funny/sad how this is one of the first episodes where Sheriff Adams was a totally sympathetic character? She was even NICE and COMPLIMENTARY to Clark.

Poor old girl. It's always a bad thing for the resident "hard-nosed" character to go soft. It's like begging to be killed off. She might as well have said, "I'm retiring in two days."

I'm going to miss her lines. "Nice work, Mr. Kent. That garage was cleaner than my grandmother's kitchen." "The next time you report a murder, I'd better see a stiff." "Any reason you'd might want to goose these boys with a little crank call, Miss Lang?"

Her dialogue was just about as good as Chloe's.

Same here. Now that there's a locked-up sheriff and a dead one, I think it's time someone tells me how many cops have been killed or have gone to the dark side in Smallville?

When I heard the shot and saw the blood I was like,
"What the hell?! This isn't Lost!"

Contrary to unpopular belief, Sheriff Adams was mentioned after her death. When the two cohorts were unsuccessfully attempting to persuade Lana that they were the victims, Lana told them:

"Tell that to Sheriff Adams."

So, actually, she did get a mention afterwards. And I don't think Clark's facial expression combo of disgust and anger upon discovery of her body was too out of line, either.

I never really liked the Sheriff but she didn't have to die, it was unnecessary esp the way she died, being shot in the back? By one of your own? Aw, I felt sad for her then, she deserved a little better than that. Oh well, I hope they don't forget about her as quickly and I'm curious to see the new Sheriff.

I just liked how much she lead on to Clark that he would be a good addition to the local sheriff department. She just inforces to Clark that he can do a lot of good helping out those that need it.

She rocked! Bye Sheriff Adams.

I was saddened by the death of the sheriff. I thought she was going to turn into Lois someday. I mean, did you see the way Clark sped away right in front of her? He obviously wanted her to know his secret. I thought they were meant to be. :) Seriously though, I liked the character. It is a shame she is gone. I am curious to why they did it. I wonder if it was a story decision or behind the scenes decision? Hopefully we will find out.

The Sheriff dieing was definetly a shock to me. Wonder if there will be a replacement.

Although I was shocked as well when the original Sheriff tried framing Jonathon Kent.

:\ I like the acting also of Camille Mitchell as Sheriff Nancy Adams. may be she will be cured in the next episode and they missed the vital organs.

 Where was the vests!!! Did they forget to supply the troops? not enough budget by the prez.?

And she got shipped to Metropolis Hospital and in a Coma then she would be a regular by Season 6. ;)

Nice hint on "needing a person like you in the force" an his "skills". ;)

I HATE crooked cop storylines. LAZY writers. To have the sheriff killed by one of her own deputies...so not right.

Yeah Sheriff Nancy's death was a waste. One thing I don't get is this: Most police wear body armor why did that bullet go right through her. Now it might have been armor peircing since they to were cops and might have been expecting a problem, but it just seemed that bullet went through her too easy. I'm thinking if it was armor piercing and went right through her then since Lex was shot with the same guns it would've blown his sholder off.
Anyway, I wish they hadn't wasted here like that.

What a great epithaph: "Aint that a mutha"

I can't believe they just killed her. When my firend was watching though, he thought she was stupid because she was old. Because they don't have old policemen in China where I used to live.

"Wait a minute...is that coffee?" LOL. I love that scene.
