I'm not sure if this was already brought up, but the book Lionel and Lex were discussing "The Art of War" (I'm not entirely sure if that was the correct title) was written by Sin Tzu, the Batman villian. Thought that was pretty cool.

Correction: The author was Sun Tzu according to Irishman. Sorry for the mistake.

Actually it is Sun Tzu, The ancient Chinese general don't know about batman. But it is a good book, I've read it twice.

That is a really good book if you're interested in that type of thing. I've had a copy of it for years and have probably read it about 3-4 times. As for Sun Tzu being a Batman villan I'm not too sure about that. Maybe he was since there have been so many over the years but is it possible that you're thinking of Ra's Al Ghul?

of also if anyone has read this book and liked it I'd suggest reading Musashi, A Book of Five Rings

Loved this scene. Another piece of literature and history that symbolizes Lex and Lionel's relationship. :) LOVE when they do that. I liked how Lionel went behind Lex's back (yet again) but then turned it around like he knew nothing and it was Lex's fault, "Oh, Lex, first Milton Fine disappears from your radar, and now Griff....I think it's time you dust this off." GREAT stuff! :)

Love your screen name!

Also, I find your post very interesting. That quote that Lionel made to Lex was priceless. It appears that Lex and Lionel have some of the more intriguing scenes in the show. My second favorite scene of the episode!

(I wonder if my local library would carry that book)

O thanks (about the screename)! :) Yeah, I'm a big Luthor fan. Their scenes always seem to steal the show. I truly loved that quote. I could just feel Lex's frustration. No matter if people say he's evil or not, I still feel sorry for him at this point.

I'm sure your library probably would carry the book. I think it's pretty famous.

PS-I'm MozartRequiem AND LuthorRequiem. I just use different screenames sometimes, just in case you didn't know.

Interestingly, the Ezra Small Prophecies mentioned an Art of War quotation.
