Well.. I kinda wanted to make a joke in the thread's name^^

So now as we speculate Jonathan and Lana will die, don't you think that Martha will eventually hook up with Lionel? :D

btw. I loved the Mionel in todays episode :)

I really like Mionel, but I cant see Martha not with Jonathan.

I also just dont understand what Lionel is doing. Where does he stand? In Lexmas "future lionel" disowned his son for not running, but then he is trying to get his son to drop out of the race or lose? I just dont understand

lionel i think does not want to see lex on this power hungery struggle he is on and wants to stop him when he came still control every thing. I think he just wants to help the kents but he could have other things he is trying to do too u never know with him.

Martha and Lionel sitting on a tree. K I S S I N G ! First came the death of Jonathan, Then the marriage of MIONEL! ok ok bad attempt! I think that...TMB....is just trying to stir things up a bit. Could he be influenced by Jor-El in some way? I'm sure....in some way. I believe TPTB are trying to make you think one thing about TMB, when he's coming from left field. You know what I mean? Even though it may seem he's trying to help JK with funding, he's really just thinking ahead..in terms...of you scratch my back..I'll scratch yours...type of thing. Now that MK went on over and accepted the funds....TMB...now has leverage on both sides. Even though his son and him don't neccessarily get along, he'll have more resources..available.< if that's possible>.

I like the chemistry between those two, especially in this ep.

Why Lionel is behaving so strange, I don't know. I suspect that the effect that Jor-L was in his body made him good for a while, the same thing that Clark did to him (black kryptonite).

Or maybe Lionel knows about Clark abilities from some time and tries to protect his family (Clark saved Lionel's life when they switched their bodies) + he had kryptonian knowledge and might remember some facts.

btw. I don't treat Lex dream/vision as a future. I think it was only to show Lex view on some facts which might have happen if he would separate from his father's will.

Actually it's really hard to guess, the writters are doing a great job :) I hate movies/series when I know what will happen.

I couldn't believe what I saw!! is she going to trade "favors" w/ lionel for john's sake?

Martha WOULD NEVER accept money from Lionel for Jonathan's campaign. That was a stupid thing to do in the show.

Of course she won't trade "favors". Lionel will happily give funds just to make things harder for Lex. I can't believe Martha will play right into his dirty game! But the Mionel chemistry was great. :)

Lionel is goading Lex into pulling out all the stops in the hopes that he will eliminate JK, while at the same time making Martha think he's in the Kent's corner. Then, with JK out of the way, Martha's all his.

Martha asking for dollars is going to have a long term weight over her head. Especially with Jonathan's death coming in 2 weeks. I will be shocked if the other death is Lionel. Maybe we only have 2 more weeks of Mionel.

I think if Lionel and Martha get together, both Lex and Clark will be disturbed beyond belief.

Well, some fans have speculated that may NOT have been "future Lionel" or the actual "future", but maybe just Lex's vision of what could be. Lana symbolizes love (doesn't mean he'll be with her for sure), Lionel symbolizes evil (doesn't mean he'll be evil or even alive in the future for sure).

Or it could be literally "the future", in which case you're right, he's evil in the future. As of now, I have a theory on what his motives are. I think he knows Clark's secret, is trying to pretend to be on the Kents side, only to blackmail them and try to rule the world with Clark.

the vision in "Lexmas" was what would've happened if Lex had forsaken Lionel and pursued Lana. Lionel would've never found redemption and been the same corrupt person he was in the first three seasons.
