Wow. I stayed in college dorms last year and they were NOWHERE near as big as Lana's. I love how TV always glorifies college dorms and shows them to be like 4 times there real size.

Yup, and you noticed how clean it was? HA! I'd like to see a college dorm room that clearn.

And so well-decorated--no matter how hard we try, my roommate and I don't have the money to decorate like that! And the beds are, like, full-size, too!

That place was kinda upscale for a college dorm. Most of them look like prison cells. Metropolis U must charge a load of tuition and fees to pay for dorm rooms as big as a luxury suite in Vegas. I wonder if any TV directors ever went to college.
When I was watching that scene, I looked around my dorm room and thought, "damn, my room sucks!".

Tell me where you would put the camera in your room if you had to film Smallville in it? heheheee. I imagine it just makes it easier. Who knows. I lived in a house when I went to college, so I never had to live in a small dorm room. BUt I did go to them, Yeah, hers is HUGE. :)

That should read "well unlike you Chloe is independently wealthy" as she got the dorm room well before Lana moved in.

Its funny how they use the same library at UBC to depict both CKU and MET U

I know! They didn't even alter the angle of the shot they just digitally composted all the buildings into the background. Vancouver has two universities (Simon Fraser and the University of British Columbia) and at least four colleges. There are more than enough locations to fill in for whatever university they want. I am sure money is a concern as are consistenly available locations, but if they wanted an alternate setting they could have just filmed another building at UBC, there are dozens of them to choose from.
I thought the duplicate shot was incredibly lame but it can be explained if an exterior view of CKU was needed and nothing was shot. You always hear in the episode commentaries how pressed the producers are for time.

Especially with no job or family (when has Nell ever been around) to afford all these things like an apt over the Talon, trendy clothes, college tuition etc... Ah yes everything is perfect when it has to be in TV land.:\

Lol PKII. I think so...
Lana's dorm was nice but why was there a compass on her bed when she was working on hmk at her big table?

Because college students leave stuff on their beds all the time. Trust me! It happens! :)

An emaculate dorm room always appears larger than it is!:)

Chloe spies on Lana under the covers at night, that's how Chloe knows Lana's been studying the meteor shower. Wow being Clark's sidekick is a full time job huh?

The only thing that really didn't seem too "TV-fied" was the cleanliness of the dorm room. I know my freshman year in college my roommates and a I kept our room looking clean all the time. Of course we were in an extremem situation with 3 people living in a dorm room mean for one. So keeping it clean meant, just that much more space.
