i was really looking forward to seeing clark get jon down in a creative manner... they ruined that
 Like burn the rope using his heat vision? Wait, been there, done that.
But I was sort of like "Do something already, don't just freaking stand there looking at him."

Or burning the rope with heat vision and having Jonathan fall on his head ;).. It would explain the lump on the top of his head ;)

commercials ruin alot, but its key for the makers it saves alot of cash without showing Clark in super speed getting him down.

I know, I was like "Come on, Clark, don't just stand there..." he and Martha stood there gasping and staring for like 10 seconds and Jonathan looked all unconcious and dead-ish, and they're like "Hey, look at the way his plaid is blowing in the breeze."

He should have jumped up there or sliced the rope and caught him. THat was really bad. Plus, why didn't Clark use his X-RAY VISION to see hwere he was? From the house he would have gotten the long view, surely. That was awful.

I was sorta surprised that Clark didnt do anything "super" to get JK down. Looking back tho, it wasnt really needed imo.
TPTB seem to have cut back a bit on SFX this season. Think i remember reading something about exceeding their alloted budget? At least the ones they have shown have been enjoyable.
Kinda hoping for some major displays of power in the next few episodes.

I thought the same thing. Smallville has a tendency to keep on the characters' faces for too long right before a commercial break. It's like "This is getting awkward, looking at you like this. Can we cut to commercial now?"

Well, Clark must've known that Jonathan wasn't dead. He didn't have to worry about bringing him down that fast.
