I'm just glad Chloe finally got on to him about it instead of being glad that she knows about Clark and Lana doesn't.

Telling someone his secret is the lamest, most boring thing ever and that's beside the fact that Lana is the lamest morst boring excuse for a love interest ever and Clark is right to distrust her. In all this time she's always been shown as not accepting or those who are different and being freaked out by the prospect of aliens beyond the fact that she's blame whomever she thinks is responsible for her parents deaths as per CLark's fear in Scared.

That he'd suddenly trust her and expose himself and his sanctuary, the FOS, is ridiculous much less that he'd propose to her, especiallt after the nasty way she treated him in Fanatic, demanding sex and stomping off in a huff when she doesn't get her way. There is no reason he should care about this obnoxious girl and certainly no excuse for revealing himself to her. His first mistake was lying to her to get into her bed and now he's going to compound that by thinking she'll accept him. Her canon actions and personality wouldn't have her doing that and unless they completely retcon Lana into being the opposite of what we've seen all this time, she's freak and turn on him.

Lana is a very unlikeable girl (and here I might footnote that she did win the most hated character on TV in a recent poll) and it's a disgrace to have the hero be so pathetically and inexplicably attracted to her that he'll sacrifice anyone and anything, including his destiny just to be with her. ALMiles should be ashamed of themselves for trashing the Superman legend like this. And Chloe, while right in her advice, should kick Clark out and make him solve his own love problems if he's such a man now.

I enjoyed the defense to offense dialog. Basically Chloe tells Clark that if he doesnt come clean with Lana, her curiosity will start leading others (ex. Lex) to figuring out his secret. He needs Lana "on his side" concerning his secret. At least that is what i got out of it.

On another note, I'm not a huge clana fan but i have enjoyed it for the most part. I tend to get excited when Clark's secret is about to be exposed to someone, especially his friends.

I just hope that tptb will allow a few episodes to explore Lana's reaction to the truth but with the few spoilers and snipets from #100, her future seems to be in question.

But Lana should have to find out on her own, work for the knowledge, see something and go, 'Aha!" rather than just be told so Clark can justify sleeping with her. That's what makes the revelation of the knowledge so exciting. Just blurting it out so he can get in her bed again is just pathetic, I'm afraid.

Chloe's right, of course, but it's time Clark did his own work and stop putting it off on Chloe, whom he knows still harbors feelings for him no matter what she says. That just makes Clark an insensitive jerk to go to Chloe with this, anyway. It's time he used that superior Kryptonian brain to come up with his own solutions or dump Lana one. I of course would choose the latter.

By the time Clark tells Lana it's too late afterwards... the previews don't look so good for her. Clark should've taken Chloe's advise in Hidden so now he wouldn't have to have that sex talk with her this episode and all the Lexana in the previous episodes.. dumb Clark always making it hard on him... doesn't he know, it's better if he got it over with and told her knowing he'll either keep her or lose her instead of not telling her and eventually losing her just slowly and more painful... dumb Clark.

ya know, Love is different for different people. the girl I love? A lot of people think she's weird, annoying, and a bit of a crybaby. But i don't see that. we get in arguments. She gets mad and runs off. It doesn't change the fact that i love her. I hate all the Lana bashing! It's just unecessary, cause we've heard it all before! and in my opinion Al and Miles have not trashed anything (Thirst and Ageless excluded) if anything they've opened up the Superman legend to a completely new crowd! (and what they have is better than supes in the 30's, 40's and 50's.)

In all this time she's always been shown as not accepting or those who are different

Remember magnet boy? Well, she wasn't freaked out after he revealed his secret to her, she actually thought his magnetic powers were pretty cool and she appreciated him for being honest with her ;)..

There was also the lightning strike that swapped Clark's powers with that kid's mortality, Lana told Clark how cool it would be to wake up one day with powers..

She also told Clark that when Van told her he was bulletproof, it was comforting for her to hear, as it would explain all of the unexplainables. She wasn't freaked out by the thought of him being different, she was actually relieved. No signs of being freaked out there.

But Lana should have to find out on her own, work for the knowledge, see something and go, 'Aha!"

She shouldn't have to find out on her own. Given their closeness, it should be something Clark shares with her on his own... Chloe found out thanks to Alicia and then Clark later told her everything. Having Lana find out on her own would make Clark look VERY VERY bad..

Imagine that YOUR significant other was keeping some huge secrets from you and yet had no problem telling his/her friends everything. I can't think of many people that wouldn't be hurt by that.

Interesting take on the Defence/Offense issue!

If Chloe did not care to tell Clark of the consequences of his remaining silent to Lana's investigations....there would have been as you suggest serious implications!!!!:(

Clark is lucky to have an intuitive Best Friend in Chloe.

Well, Lana hasn't been completely honest with Clark either. She hasn't told him that she killed Genevieve.
