I kind of hate to bring this thought up, but as we all know someone close to Clark will die (in ep 100, eh?). I mean, what if it's Shelby? I love the dog (don't tell my cats), but just pondering here....

Shelby's not on the opening credits, and it's a cowards way out, so he won't die. (although if I was the dog I would have killed myself or Martha by now. Shelby? Yeah, it's in the comics, but c'mon!)
