Clark has to know things may get heated with his father and such, he can get home to check on his folks even faster than ever (as we saw with him and chloe recently) why does he not check up on his folks every minute or so that he has to make sure things are alright so they dont get assulted like his father just did.

Well... I'm sure they wouldn't appreciate their teenage son running back every few seconds to make sure they were breathing...They're not babies, they can take care of themselves when Clark's not there.

Yeah, Clark should have leaped up there and got him down. What's with him just staring? Bad scene. Bad writers.

I think he was in shock. (poor excuse) He probably got him right down right after they cut to commercial, tptb just might not have wanted to film it.

It was more Clark being shocked that him not doing anything. The same thing happened in "Reckoning" when his father had a heart attack.
