Heh, I loved this show. It's too bad it was cancelled. I think we're buying the S1 box set for my brother for Christmas. Anyone have any favourite episodes? Mine are all the ones with Death :p And Stewie centric episodes.

i loved that show, i read on slashdot that according to Video Store magazine the s1 dvd was relased in april and has sold over 1 million copies, which makes it this years top selling tv show, and 4th television title ever. and they also mentioned that they may bring it back in 2005, but i doubt it will be near as good as it was.

it is my #1 favorite show of ALL time. all of the episodes are out on dvd season 1 & 2 and then the season 3 dvd.
the second dvd (season 3) is better than the first. it has better extras. and they respond to the fans in it.
i dont really have a favorite episode.... i was never to fond of the singning shows like the road to road island one.
and Yeah they are talking about bringing it back, but possibly straight to DVD (which is good they dont need fox) I dont see why the show wont be as good though same writiers.... same everything.

oh i have Season 3, ooh that is soo good!
I remember the first time I saw an ep, I was laughing so hard it hurt. I don't remember which one it was. That would be great if they went straight to DVD with new seasons.

Tom Tucker (On TV): Coming up in the next half-hour, our in-depth look at conveniently placed news reports in television shows, but first, Peter, watch out for that skateboard.
(Peter trips on a skateboard)
Dennis Miller: I don't wanna go on a RANT here but America's foreign policy makes about as much sense as Beowolf having sex with Robert Fulton at the first Battle of Antetum. I mean when a neo-conservative defenstrates it's like Raskalnakov filibuster dioxymonohydrostinate.
Peter: What the hell does RANT mean?
Peter: You may have killed her when you shoved all those dollar bills down her throat, you may have killed her when you hit her with the stool... I don't know, I'm not a doctor. But I'll tell you what didn't kill her.... smoking!
Peter: Lois, can't we tell em that your mother died?
Lois: Peter, I'm not gonna lie about something like that.
Peter: Alright alright I'll kill your mother... God, when did Christmas become so complicated.
Marriage Councillor: I'd like to put video cameras in every room of your house so that I can observe your uncensored behaviour.
Peter: Wow, just like that show Big Brother. Except somebody will be watching.
Brian and Stewie's song in "Road to Europe".
Brian & Stewie: You and I are so awfully different, too awfully differnt, to ever be pals.
Stewie: Do you want to go first.
Brian: Yeah i'll go, your favorite hero is the Marquis De Sade.
Stewie: Oh your one to talk, you got a stiffy from Phylicia Rashad.
Brian: Oh one time
Stewie: I have a style flair, just look at my hip hair.
Brian: Oh yeah thats quite a nice do there.
Stewie: Oh thanks
Brian: For me to poop on.
Stewie: What
Brian: Oh come on you look like Charlie Brown.
Stewie: Oh bite me snoopy.
Brian & Stewie: Theres not a whole lot that we got to agree on..
Brian: Cause I love the strains of a classical score.
Stewie: And I like that singer who looks like a whore.
Brian: Ricky Martin
Stewie: Love him
Brian & Stewie: Were too different to ever be pals...You and I are so awfully different, too awfully differnt, to ever be pals.
Brian: Your heads as massive as a meteorite.
Stewie: Oh very funny...you have a weenie like a christmas tree light.
Brian: I bet money, you'll marry a honey, who's pretty and funny, and her name will be Ted.
Stewie: Oh a gay joke.
Brian: I just work with what you give me.
Brian & Stewie: You might think were in sync but we stink, as a duo..
Brian: Cause you get a kick out of carnege and guts.
Stewie: And you get a kick out of stroking your...
Brian: Whoa whoa whoa, you cant say that on TV
Stewie: What, ego.
Brian: Nevermind
Brian & Stewie: Were too differnt to ever be pals.
Peter: Hey, is the Count a Vampire?
Brian: What's that?
Peter: Well he's got these big fangs. Have they ever shown him doin' somebody in and then feedin' on em?
Brian: You're, you're asking me if they've ever done a Seseme Street in which the Count kills somebody and then sucks their blood for sustenance
Peter: Yeah
Brian: No, they've never done that.
Doctor: Mayor West you have Lymphoma.
Adam West: Oh My.
Doctor: Probably from rolling around in that Toxic waste. What in God's name were you trying to prove?
Adam West: I was trying to gain super powers.
Doctor: Well that's just silly.
Adam West: Silly yes... Idiotic... yes.
Peter: You better watch who you're calling a child Lois. Because if I'm a child, do you know what that makes you? A pedophile. And I'll be damned if I'm gonna stand here and be lectured by a pervert
CLEVELAND: Peter, not all Jewish people are good with money.
Peter: Well, no, not the retarded ones, but, God... what was the point of bringing that up? The shock value?

what was the deal with its two characters stewie and brian?
ie the baby and the dog
like both of them talked, but the show's creators made it so they didnt actually 'talk', like interact, or it seemed like the other characters understood what they were getting at, rather than what they were saying?
am i off the level here but was the idea of a talking baby and a talking dog somehow manage to keep with the idea of reality? in that they didnt really talk?
someone please explain!
The Man

everyone could hear stewie, but because he's a baby, no one took him seriously. that's right out of seth macfarlane's mouth. again, everyone heard the dog.
BRIAN: Chuck... it's me... Brian.
CHUCK: Sorry, pup, there's a lot of dogs born here. which one were you?
BRIAN: I was the one that could talk.
CHUCK: Brian! Come in.

what ep did the creator (seth) himself appear, what was his role ?
My favorite eps are just about any where Stewie has a major roll.
I really like the one where the bully steals his trike, so he kidnaps the bully. He has one line in there that makes me crack up everytime I hear it.
Also the spoof on Willy Wonka is a good ep too, the scene where Peter falls and hurts his knee then sits there for like 5 minutes going "Ahhh, Ahhhhh!" is hilarious

I love this show! Finally, a show that talks the way I think! And I love Stewie, the evil little *******! And Brian is too cool when he confronts Stewie. And every character on that show rocks! And am I weird because I think Meg is kind of a hottie? I probably wouldn't in real life though. I don't know, I'd have to see that.

It has been confirmed that a new season of Family Guy will be returning to FOX in June of 2005. I assume that all the same voices will be used, because if FOX is bringing the show back they will not want to change anything.

I was so excited when I heard this news a few months ago. I used to make sure I watched "Family Guy" every week when it was on FOX.
I've got a very picky taste as far as humor goes. Most shows simply aren't original enough in their humor for me. "Family Guy" always had me laughing. I still enjoy seeing the reruns on the Cartoon Network if I happen to be awake late at night.
I'm so excited about the new episodes. It's not often that a show is revived years after it was taken off the air. We're fortunate to get the chance to see more of Peter, Brian, Stewie, and everyone else.

It's a shame that FOX edited out the "new" episode "When You Wish Upon A Jew" ... there's a part where Lois asks Quagmire (sp?) for his car keys and he reaches down to his pocket ( he's wearing a robe ) and he continues "reaching" for almost a minute ... LOL that part made me laugh so hard.

Yeah, I noticed that they trimmed that scene by a couple of seconds. I don't like the way Fox edits certain things but on other televisions, they let it rip. My hope is that they continue to televise on Cartoon Network AND Fox.
LilWonderWoman
01-03-2005, 07:09 PM
cartoonetwork will be less likely to edit out things than fox, fox will be very heavy in editing since the fcc has a bug up its ass-ests
with any help, when the dvds of the new season comes out they'll be more extras and unedited episodes

Yeah, you can never get enough 'Family Guy.' TBS also airs 'Family Guy' but I don't know their schedule. So many funny moments on this cartoon, you have to watch the episode twice to get it all.
Has anybody seen the episode with Margot Kidder? It's so freakin' funny!!! I can't remember the title of the episode, but OMG it's hella funny.

EFF the FCC!!! Family Guy was pretty funny show. My favorite is the one where the dog is a police drug dog and he is sniffing for cocaine in a bag and gets hooked, that was hilarious when he was in the bathroom busting rails all strung out with red eyes acting like a junky.

The return of cult animation fave "Family Guy," which Fox canceled nearly four years ago only to see it have renewed life in reruns and DVD sales, packed a punch with an average of 11.9 million viewers and 5.7 rating/13 share in the adults 18-49 demographic, according to preliminary estimates from Nielsen Media Research.

That 'Rock Lobster' song that Peter played Cleveland was genius. By far the most inappropriate song to play someone whose wife's having an affair. It's by the B52's by the way - I downloaded it straight after the episode! And funnily, Peter's acoustic version is actually better!

I think this show's ben getting really good lately.
You had to've seen the last episode where Meg gets a makeover. It was just too funny for words!
One of the best scenes was when they did a backflash to Peter doing an amature clown show for George W. and the president is basically laughing and flailing his limbs like a toddler. Then he knocks his water globe off the table and starts crying like a baby. OMG, I was ROTFLMAO when I saw it!

I enjoyed the movie a lot. The plot was ok, nothing mind blowing but certainly very enjoyable..and if Stewie is your favorite charater then you will love it.
Brian rocks and there is enough Meg and Chris to make the whole thing seems like a very cool episode. Very interesting take on their future, I might add.
The whole 'pop culture references' dynamics of the show translated really well into this longer format, so you won't be disapointed as a fan.

After seeing the episode PTV I am dying to know what was said that was beeped out. Some of it you can kind of guess at but alot of it is not.
Peter goes on a rant that is almost entirely beeped out, he says something about tooth paste in his anus, an extention cord, anyway I hope Fox plans to relese an unedited version of this episode on the DVD set. It would be awesome.

Believe me, it was plenty. Better to just get the movie and enjoy it that way.

There's already a thread for Family Guy... This season (The new episodes) seemed kind of lacking for me... Just not as funny - Like they were trying too hard to be random, be weird.
PTV from start to finish was great though, and restored my faith in the show.
I think it was funnier that it was bleeped. I couldn't care less about knowing.
The movie was great aswell, and although it was good not to have bleeps or anything, it was weird when stewie said ****.
Haha... The censors attack yet again...
Sunday's episode was pretty funny too. The best scene was when they made funny of Ashlee Simpson with the whole Saturday Night Live thing. That little jig at the end was hilarious! (in Family Guy)

Thus I've seen every season of Family Guy at least 14 times thanks to Cartoon Network reairing them constantly and it's the only thing that's on, when I'm up writing and here most nots.
To say the least, I'm defintely a fan. I've got the companion for the first 4 seasons and Stewie's Guide to World Domination (yes, Stewie has something to say about everything) - I'm missing the last box set at the moment, but I own all the other sets plus the movie.
Can we say hooked? lol "Frickin' sweet!"
Oh, I need to get the movie. It was pretty funny! When are new episodes going to air? I see new episodes of American Dad, but Family Guy is still in re-runs.

NEW FAMILY GUY EPISODE
Fox has released a promotional image from "I Take Thee, Quagmire," a new episode of Family Guy on Sunday, March 12.
Here's how the network describes the episode:
"When Peter goes on a television game show and wins a maid for a week, Quagmire becomes smitten with her and ends up popping the question. But when Quagmire's bachelor tendencies resurface, he takes some serious steps to get out of the marriage. Meanwhile, Stewie fights against breast-feeding withdrawals when Lois tries to wean him."
Alex Trebek, Pat Sajak, Bryan Cranston and Adam Carolla provide guest-voices in the episode. Fred Tatasciore, who does the voice of the Hulk in the Ultimate Avengers movies, provides the voice of Alec Baldwin.

You're safe considering it deleted it visually.
Either way, I'm curious about it - the episode not the title lol.

One of the funniest shows ever. My favorite episodes are Stewie addicted to Crack and Lethal Weapons where Lois take Tai Jitzu or something like that. Really great epi's
