Clana kiss of death..?

In the episode when Clark told Lana that happy first Christmas she responded first of many...in the show often when she is at the peak of a relationship and she says remarks like that then we see the first steps into the death of the relationship she said to Jason that she was never happier and in a couple of episodes later they started to had troubles so I think this was the first sign they won't last...

Except Lana has been saying these things to Clark since the very beginning. A lot different than her relationship with Jason.

Interesting point. It would be very different from the way they handled decline in Lex and Clark's relationship. Even though one's a friendship and one's a romance, they could still do that same gradual erosion that we've seen with Clark and Lex over the past couple of years. I think I agree TPTB are giving us signs that they're going to do something more dramatic with Clana.
