Has anyone checked out the Miami Vice Movie website yet? Collin Ferrell and Jammie Foxx are playing Crocket and Tubbs, and it's set in a modern Miami. It's seriously dark and edgy, much more so than the show was. While I'm so sure what to think of this from the teaser trailer, which is on the site, I'm encouraged by the fact that the minds behind the show are the same ones behind the movie. Michael mann is the writer/director and the original series creater is an executive producer.

Anyway, check it out and tell me what you think.

I saw the trailer and was surprised by how serious it was. I thought it would be an action comedy, but this looks more serious than that. It looks good; I may check it out. Oh, and the fact that Michael Mann is behind this has me happy. He did a great job with Collateral and Heat!

I'll have to check it out. I was never a fan of the series but I might give the movie a chance.

I went to see it opening day. It was alright. I personally enjoyed Collateral more, but Miami Vice is definitely entertaining.

NO

DO NOT SEE MIAMI VICE! The weakest movie I have seen all year it was horrible! No substance, extreamly cliche and no where as entertaining as the TV show. I REPEAT DO NOT SEE IT!

People couldn't wait to get out of the theater, they were waling out towards the end before it was finished.

Just got back and it was so-so. I expected more from the combo of Mann/Farrell/Foxx.

But here's something I adored - the music. Does anyone know who does the movie's version of "In the air tonight"? I adore this version!

I prefer Phill Colllins myself.

By the way, there is a DVD package of Season 1 and Season 2 of Miami Vice for about $45. Its a pretty good deal.

As for the movie, I think the only part the lagged was the middle when they tried to build up the relationship between Isabella and Don.

LMAO :rotfl: OMG that's hilarious :rotfl:
I heard that it wasn't that great... I may rent it... though I've been strongly urged not to see it... I may not... after all I was told never ever to watch Gigli and I haven't seen most of it... it happened to be on one night and I caught a weird part with Ben and Jen (or shall I say Bennifer?) and that was enough for me to make a funky face and say, "Nah I'll pass..."
I may see it... hmmmm...

It was soooooooooooo bad!!! I fell asleep for 30 minutes and I NEVER fall asleep during movies and I wasn't even tired. The plotline is complete nonsense, the dialogue is incoherent since every single actor/character has a thick accent, the lighting is so dark at points that you feel like you might just be watching a black screen, and even Colin Ferrell leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
