I am starting this page as a tribute to Seinfeld. I am fan of the show, and love watching the reruns on TBS and WB. I will have to say one my favorite scenes is when the gang is in the mall parking garage, and cannot find their car. One of the better scenes is when Jerry gets arrested for peeing on the wall, and gets caught by the cops. This page is for all the feedback from Seinfeld fans about what they loved about the show, and some of their favorite episodes. VOICE YOUR 'PION!!!

Kramer: What did you go up there to heckle her for?
Jerry: Because she came down to the club and heckled me! I give her a taste of her own medicine.
Kramer: Oh yeah! You gave her taste of medicine alright!
Jerry: Well, I didn’t want her to have an accident.
George: What accident?
Kramer: Well, after he heckled Toby she got so upset she ran out of the building and a street sweeper ran over her foot and severed her pinkie toe.
George: That’s unbelievable!
Kramer: Yeah, then after the ambulance left I found the toe. So I put it in a Crackerjack box, filled it with ice and took off for the hospital.
George: You ran?
Kramer: No, I jumped on the bus. I told the driver ‘I got a toe here buddy, step on it!’
George: Holy cow!
Kramer: Yeah, yeah. Then all of a sudden this guy pulls out a gun. Well I knew any delay’s gonna cost her her pinkie toe so I got out of the seat and I started walking towards him. He says ‘Where do you think you’re going, Crackerjack?’ I says, ‘Well I got a little prize for you buddy,’ Bam, Bam, Bam, knocked him out cold!
George: How could you do that!?
Kramer: Yeah, then everybody is screaming, because the driver, he’s passed out because of all the commotion. The bus is out of control! So I grab him by the collar, I take him out of the seat, I get behind the wheel, now I’m driving the bus!
George: You’re Batman.
Kramer: Yeah, yeah, I am Batman. Then the mugger, he comes to and he starts choking me, so I’m fighting him off with one hand and I kept driving the bus with the other, you know? Then I managed to open up the door, and I kicked him out the door, you know, with my foot, you know, at the next stop.
Jerry: You kept making all the stops?
Kramer: Well, people kept ringing the bell!
George: Well, what about the toe, what happened to the toe?
Kramer: Well, I am happy to say that the little guy is back in place at the end of the line.
George: You did all this, for a pinkie toe?
Kramer: Well it’s a valuable appendage.

Seinfeld is the greatest sitcom ever. I agree that THE FINALE was disappointing to many people, especially a hardcore Sein fan like myself. But if you really look at it, they ended the show perfectly. Seinfeld was never about happy endings, all of the four main characters were extremely selfish, self-absorbed, immature, and greedy. To quote from the final episode "[to the fab four] your callous indifference and utter disregard for everything that is good and decent has rocked the very foundation upon which our society is built."
In the end, they all got what they deserved, it is a great way to end the episode, as I sure wasn't expecting it. In hindsight I think it was perfect. They got what was coming to them after nearly 10 years of doing whatever they felt like to pretty much anyone they felt like.

Recently Friends also ended its run. I have never liked that show, and honestly am glad it's finally over. Despite not watching the finale and trying my hardest to avoid hearing anything about it, I heard two chicks discussing it in great detail on the bus. They ended that show the way everyone wanted them to end it, with a typical Hollywood, happy ending. What's so special about that?

I heard the final ratings for Friends was 40 million viewers.

Seinfeld had 75 million viewers, I know that doesn't by any means judge the quality of each show, BUT, it goes along with my opinion.

BTW, the much anticipated DVD set of Seinfeld should be coming this December, just in time for X-mas. I believe they are releasing them a season at a time, which I disagree with. The first and second seasons had a combined 22 episodes. Hopefully they'll pack them with a ton of extras, we'll see.

Becuase, it's nice to know your favorite characters are going to go on like they always have, just more private. It's good closure.

I heard the final ratings for Friends was 40 million viewers. Actually it was much higher. But ratings are a sham anyway. They mean nothing, except to networks and ad execs. They are the most innaccurate measure ever. And response is better than ratings. Plus, you have to account for the farewell parties, the jumbotron-viewings, ect.

It has a release date! It has a release date!:D

Nothing is about to become something again because "Seinfeld", one of the most anticipated TV-to-DVD releases, is finally heading to digital disc.

On Nov. 23 all 40 episodes of the first three seasons of "Seinfeld" will be released on DVD in two seperate sets in full-screen format, it was announced Friday. The four-disc "Seinfeld: Volume 1" will contain all seventeen episodes from the first two seasons plus a second version of the series pilot (!). Another four-disc set dubbed "Seinfeld: Volume 2" will include all 23 episodes from Season 3. Each volume carries the suggested retail price of $49.95.

Episodes in "Volume 1" include "The Chinese Restaurant" and "The Busboy".

"Volume 2" includes "The Pen", "The Parking Garage", "The Pez Dispenser", "The Parking Space", and "The Keys".

Among the extras will be cast-member commentaries, deleted scenes, and bloopers (yay!)

A documentary on "Volume 1" explores how co-creators Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David (HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm") came up with the idea for the series.

"Seinfeld" ran on NBC from 1990 to 1998 for 180 episodes. The show was nominated for 18 Emmys. It won 10, including one for best comedy series in 1993, three for Michael Richards (as Cosmo Kramer) and one for Julia Louis-Dreyfus (as Elaine Benes).

"KRAMER: Hey, here they are. The Cubans. Real Cubans.

Earl Haffler regards the three for a second or two.

HAFFLER: You wouldn't be trying to sell old Earl Haffler Dominicans in a Cuban wrapper now, would you?

KRAMER: (fidgety) Oh, now, come on. Look at these boys. If they were any more Cuban, Castro would've smoked them himself.

HAFFLER: (confusion) We're talking about people, right?

KRAMER: (puzzled) I think so.

HAFFLER: I thought he quit smoking cigars.

KRAMER: Well, yeah, yeah. But they also rolled for his brother... (thinks for a second) ...Dennis.

HAFFLER: (dubious) Dennis Castro?

KRAMER: Uh, Dwayne.

HAFFLER: Get the hell outta my office.

KRAMER: (shrill) What!?" - The English Patient

"JERRY (to GEORGE): Where are you going?

GEORGE: To ask her out.

KRAMER: No, no. Your not playing the game.

GEORGE: What game?

KRAMER: She goes to these lengths to entice you and your only response is ' Gee I really like your picture. Would you like to go out on a date with me please.'

GEORGE: No good?

KRAMER: George. It's the timeless art of seduction (http://www.lowcostprints.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=BT-5999&Category_Code=IM&Product_Count=16). You got to join in the dance. She sends you an enticing photo, you send her one right back.

GEORGE: Oh, I don't know.

KRAMER: Well as you know I've always been something of a photog.

JERRY: Oh yeah I like this idea. "- The Package

Ahhhhh, the greatest show ever (next to Smallville, of course).

So this is what they SHOULD have done for the finale:

The second to last episode would have been the Good Samaritan Law, and they all go to jail.

The FINALE would have had hijinks inside of jail, and then they'd finally get out. Just imagining Kramer in jail and dealing with the public showers makes me laugh. Then they'd get out, or escape. Whatever the writers decide.

Maybe it could still happen. Maybe they could make a movie, or make one more episode...It could happen.

Ian Ohlander
08-27-2004, 06:09 AM
While I would love to see that happen (and you're right, Kramer in jail would be hilarious- Did you see the SNL skit of Seinfeld in Oz? Very funny) I don't think Jerry or any of the others are up for it.

In Jerry's case, I think he's moved on quite a bit. Watching the documentary, Commedian, I really came to respect what he was trying to do. I think he was trying to take charge of his career again and prove something to himself. I guess maybe during the Seinfeld years, having to basically tell jokes that other people (the show's writers) had written, he made it to the very top. But I think he wanted to show that HE was still good. So he threw out all his old material that he had accumulated throughout the years and started from scratch. It was actually pretty funny, in a painful, voyeristic kind of way, to watch him fumble and forget jokes the first few months as he crafted his material. But it was also inspiring to see him humbly start over again, to deal with those gaffes and the lack of laughs in the right places. I have always like him and his humor. But I respect him now, because he was not content to sit on his laurels and make his way simply because of a past success, reprising his role again and again.

In short, I think he has moved beyond Seinfeld and does NOT want to be the cliche that Bob Denver (Gilligan) or Jerry Mathers (The Beaver) became.

As for the others, from what I understand, they have been cutt out of all the Seinfeld money pouring in from syndication. On top of that, their successes since then have been sorely lacking- though I thought the Michael Richards show was funny at times- and I think they may have some resentment. It might be what delayed the DVD releases for so long. Production wanted their commentaries, etc, as part of the old contracts- promoting the show and all- without payment. They refused and no one's going to buy the DVD's without everyone being a part of it (or at least they would be sorely disappointed). The show was such a success because of it's ensemble cast. The chemistry and interplay were a highlight, as they egged each other on in becoming more cynical, selfish and jaded- and thus more outrageous and funny. (Example: Early episodes had Elaine being very social and anti-fur, for example. But the last season had an episode where Putty had a male fur and Elaine hated it. Jerry asked her if it was for social reasons and her response was, "Anti-fur? Who has the energy anymore? He looks like a jackass.")

So, while a reunion SHOW might make them some money, I doubt they'd agree. There might be too much bitterness.

Plus, Jerry wanted to go out on a high-note. Leave them always wanting more. Before the show jumped the shark (as even some reunion shows have done, like the Mary Tyler Moore show did.)

Maybe a live reunion to TALK about the show, but that might not fly. We like the characters, not the actors, necessarily.

This was always a show that I stayed away from while it was on television. I just never had any desire to watch it. But then I figured that since it was coming out on DVD, that I could finally watch it. I have only seen the first three seasons obviously, but I love it. It went from a show that I cared nothing about, to one of my favorites, based on what I have seen. I still give the edge to Wings as being my favorite sitcom. But Seinfeld is damn good. I love the looks that Kramer gives sometimes.. hilarious!! George is the best character in my opinion, and Julia Louis Dreyfus is just so sexy in my opinion. Guy: So...we're just a couple of white people?
Elaine: I guess so.

Elaine: Wanna go to The Gap?
Guy: Yeah okay!

I love that episode.

I also gotta say the one where Kramer dates the woman in the wheelchair ("I think I'm in love with her, jerry!"). When he's telling George and Jerry about how she broke up with him is my favorite part. Paraphrasing...

[B]Kramer:she says I'm not good-looking enough. Not good-looking enough! C'mon George, look at my face. Am I beautiful?
[uncomfortable]George: You're very attractive.
Kramer: Aha! See! She also said that I'm a hypster doofus. Am I a hypster doofus, Jerry?

Don't remember exactly what he said. I laugh every time at this...

Haha, that episode was so funny. The stomach making noises. Hehe. And I love all the little nicknames the show gives.

Ones that I remember:

Jimmy legs
Close talker
Man hands
Low talker (yes, that pirate shirt was the best)
High talker (poor George, he really could have had a career in hand modeling)

Ugh, all I can think of right now.

This show reminds me a lot of my best friends and I (we're three guys and a girl who is married to one of the guys). I'm still struggling to cease being the George of the group, ha. In fact, two of us act out scenes all the time in public at random. It's ingrained into our psyche.

Amazing, I started a Seinfeld thread after doing a search, and this one did not come up. I read through all the posts, and I found a two year old post of mine in this thread!

"The Jimmy"

-Someone called Jimmy at the health club talks about himself in the 3rd person. "Oh yea, Jimmy played pretty well today."
-Jerry finds Penthouse at the dentist's office, fears his dentist and hygienest took advantage of him while under the gas.
-Elaine wants to date a guy at the health club, and mistakenly goes out with Jimmy, because of the way he talks.
-George is sweating during a meeting at work, and his boss investigating a theft thinks he's guilty. Later he sweats because of the kung pao chicken. But George starts talking like Jiimmy--coins his famous phrase "George is gettin' upset!" It actually gets him out of trouble talking to his boss also named George (Steinbrenner).
-Kramer visits the same dentist. His basketball vertical leap training shoes and drooling mouth (the novacaine) make him come off as mentally challenged, and he's invited to a special benefit for an organization that helps mentally challenged people.

The Doodle

(Jerry's apt is fumigated. Kramer gives Elaine a book report she needs for a job interview, since the book in in the apartment somewhere, and only Kramer has read it)

Here they meet at Monk's, the coffee shop, to discuss the story:
Kramer: "Well, it's a story of love, deception...greed, lust. And unbridled enthusiasm."
Elaine: "Unbridled enthusiasm?"
Kramer: "Yes, that's what led to Billy Mumfrey's downfall."
Elaine: (oh boy...)
Kramer: "You see, Elaine, Billy Mumfrey was a simple country boy. You might say, a 'cock-eyed optimist,' who got mixed up in the high-stakes game of world diplomacy and international intrigue"
Elaine: "Oh my g[osh]."

I own Seasons 4 and 6, and will probably get 5 soon. I made a ridiculously long post and decided to cut out a ton but here's some quick highlists of seasons 4-6

Season 4:
The Watch (Kramer poses as Elaine's new boyfriend, discussing it with her psychiatrist boyfriend)
The Bubble Boy
The Contest (masters of their domain...or not)
The Outing (George and Jerry mistaken for gay couple, "not that there's anything wrong with that"
The Implant (Real/spectacular + George double-dipping)
The Handicap Spot (Kramer's girl in a wheelchair rejects him "She rolled RIGHT over me!...called me a hipster dufus...George, am I beautiful?")
The Junior Mint (Kramer and Jerry in the operating theater, observing Elaine's boyfriend's surgery, accidentally drop a Junior Mint right in the operation)

Season 5

The Hamptons (shrinkage)
The Raincoats ("close talker" played by Judge Reinhold)
The Marine Biologist
The Fire (George runs out of a birthday party when there's fire in the kitchen, knocking over the old and young in his path. Kramer's bus driving story as told much earlier in this thread)
The Opposite (George tries the opposite, landing him a job at the NY yankees, Kramer goes on Regis and Kathy showcasing his coffee table book)

Season 6

This season is the Mr. Pitt season. Elaine works for Mr. Pitt.

The Big Salad (George's girlfriend hands Elaine a big salad, upsetting George, who paid for it. Kramer argues in Jerry's face, point blank)
The Chinese Woman (Frank Costanza: "You want a divorce? YOU GOT ONE!" Kramer tries boxers, later nothing, to increase his "count")
The Gymnast (Jerry dates gymnast. Mr. Pitt makes a speech like Hitler at a stockholder's meeting)
The Race (Jerry and George pretend they haven't seen each other in front of his girlfriend and her boss, whom Jerry is to race. Jerry and George use this opportunity to take cheap shots at each other's careers "Boy you really went bald there" "Oh it happened when I was 28, around the time I made my first million....I'm an architect." Kramer and Mickey are Santa and elf at a dept store. Elaine dates a communist)
The highlights of 100 episode is in season 6. It's the reason I got season 4, and will soon get 5. I got 6 for Christmas, heh.
The Doorman (Elaine housesits for Mr. Pitt. The building doorman harasses Jerry. Kramer and Frank Costanza develop 'The Bro/Mansierre')
The Fusili Jerry (Introducing Patrick Warburton who plays David Puddy)
The Face Painter (Kramer has an altercation with a Chimpanzee. Puddy paints his face)
And in the last episode "The Understudy," Elaine is jobless again and meets J. Peterman.

I'm afraid I've trimmed my original post and redone it, but this is still rather lengthy, but there have been no new posts for a month. Come on! More posts.

Edit[June07-06]
Some more season 5 episodes that are great (Just got S5 for Bday):

The Puffy Shirt (Jerry agrees to wear the puffy shirt because Kramer's girlfriend is a low talker and he can't hear her. Jerry Stiller's first appearance on the series, his season 4 appears in The Handicapp Parking Spot was rerecorded in place of the original Frank Costanza, John Randolph)
The Sniffing Accountant (Emmy winning scene for Michael Richards, when he is wearing a mohair sweater and sunglasses at a bar, he drinks a mug of beer while smoking, trying to find out if Jerry's accountant is a drug user. Before taking the drink, Kramer says "Here's to feelin' good all the time." Also in this episode, Elaine breaks up with Jake Jarmel over exclamation points)
The Pie (Kramer makes out with a mannequin that looks like Elaine)

I know this show ended in 1998, but its a great series and I loved it and still watch it.

Nothing can make you laugh like George Castanza.

"A george divided agaist itself, cannot stand!"

Or Frank is funny too.

"I will not tolerate infestation!"

greatest tv sitcom of all time. Favourite character george, newman, puddy, jay peterman, kramer and jerry. Favourite episode is the switch

George: Do you ever just get down on your knees and thank God that you know me and have access to my dementia?
Jerry: What are you talking about? I'm not goin' to do it.
George: You're not goin' to do it? What do you mean you're not goin' to do it?
Jerry: I can't. I'm not an orgy guy.
George: Are you crazy? This is like discovering plutonium...by accident!
Jerry: Don't you know what it means to become an orgy guy? It changes everything. I'd have to dress different. I'd have to act different. I'd have to grow a mustache and get all kinds of robes and lotions and I'd need a new bedspread and new curtains I'd have to get thick carpeting and weirdo lighting. I'd have to get new friends. I'd have to get orgy friends.... Naw, I'm not ready for it.
George:If only something like that could happen to me.
Jerry:Oh, shut up you couldn't do it either.
George(Dejected):I know.

i also love the contest, the outing, the marine biologist, the junior mint, bubble boy etc season 3-9 are all great.
