Aside from the carfomercial and the heavy hand of foreshadowing, the Smallville writing staff hit another homerun with "Solitude". It's sad that it's taken four seasons, but Smallville has really hit its stride this season. I don't know what prompted the writers to tell the execs to take their high school show and shove it up their froggy asses, but whatever it was, thank Krypton it happened. This means that the WB will probably cancel Smallville after this season.

What did this last sentence mean?

It's a joke. They're saying that since the show is getting good (I would argue that it's been good for four years, but there's no accounting for taste) and is now out of high school, the WB will have no more use for it. Kind of a dig at the WB.

I like the thought of writers telling the WB to shove it in various froggy parts unamed, but, hello, it's not a high school show because they're out of high school!

I'm sure they knew that and were only being facetious, but still.
