But who should take the credit?

Cousin Chloe or Lex?

Lex. He wounded her pride.

I don't know...it's seems like there's going to be another season and if there is, I could definitely see TPTB making Lois aimless again...just like there had been four season of Clark complaining about wanting to be ordinary.

Lex.
Good work by him to put her in her place.

Chloe!
She pointed her in the right direction ;)

I think both!

Chloe kind of coaxed the embers but Lex threw some gas on it now it's beginning to burn.

I hope something happens. It is really getting on my nerves that she isn't interested in journalism yet. It should be in her blood just bursting to get out!

That look in the end was nice. Did she wink at the daily planet?

Let's not forget what Shakespaere said.

"Be not afraid of greatness: some are born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon them". - Twelfth Night (Act II, Scene V).

I loved the part where Lois looked over her shoulder at the Daily Planet logo on the wall and she smiled a little, Great Scene!

Shakespeare is too good for Smallville. Please leave him out of this.

Yay, Lois! Good job getting into journalism and stealing all of your cousin's traits after wasting around Smallville for a year doing absolutely nothing except getting kicked out of college and wasting the Kent's money housing you. :)

So. Stupid.

And I doubt Lois will be re-entering college any time soon. Chloe is so much more awesome than Lois could ever hope to be, and bringing her in to act badly and be useless, then try to steal her thunder is pathetic of the writers.

Allison Mack has worked on this show since Day One, and they undermine Chloe at every opportunity. She's the best actress they have, and they do her nothing but a disservice when they let a total newbie come in and steal the place that is rightfully hers.

Not that Al and Miles ever do anything right, so that shouldn't surprise me so much.

i'm sorry, but i never heard the name chloe sullivan before smallville came around. EDITTED FOR PERSONAL INSULT saying chloe is much better than lois when the writers are making chloe act like the lois lane we all know from the movies and comics.

MOD NOTE! DO NOT insult anyone for their opinion... disagreeing is fine... but personal insults are not allowed!!!

I like Chloe, but it's funny how people claim that she's written infinitely better than Lois and then go on to slam AlMiles, her creators, for not being able to do anything right. So if AlMiles can't do anything right, what does that make Chloe?

Indeed, It has, It's about time too.

I Think both of them. Lex started The Fire, Chloe keeping The fire burning .

Or short version - wise words of Chloe in "Drone" "Some men are born to greatness, others are dragged into it kicking and screaming"

Here we have our lightswitch. Now, the only one missing is Clark.

Neither. You don't get passion by wanting revenge alone. ANd staring at the Planet logo isn't passion, for that matter. If Lois gets it from her cousin at this late date it's too late for her to be where she needs to be. SHe should have come to Smallville already fired up and rarin' to go not being a drop out with no interest or passion for anything. She remains a pathetic and pale imitation of Lois Lane.

Passion? Lois Lane being jornalist has nothing to do with passion...

If I do remember well, Lois started working for the Daily Planet by digging up dirt on Lex Luthor.

I'm with you my friend. She couldn't even look at a friggin' globe on a wall convincingly. If this is the Lois we're getting, I'm not impressed.

yeah... I didn't think that something so Petty would spark the career of the best reporter in Metropolis...

And about the Twelfth Night reference, the man reading the letter was fooled into thinking that he was going to become the man on top.

Currently, comics LL is passionate about journalism...but for different reasons.

To seek a profession that will keep her independent from her father, General Sam Lane which will also allow her to kick some ass. That's why she didn't choose to be a cop/detective or something else involved in the military.

Exactly. She isn't jornalist because it's her passion.

Yep. That's right Timester.

Margroks, she doesn't think of journalism on a macro-level like Chloe does. If you prefer iconic LL or EDLois to be like Chloe, then it's pretty clear to me that this is all about favoritism. Comics LL has been evolving for 70 years up to now and right now, her reasons for being a journalist are different from what you think are her reasons for being one.

Actually, Chloe started the fire ("Facade" episode I think?.....Lois' Torch article on Plastic surgery). Lex just poured a little gasoline on it now.....that's all. But Chloe is the one who has....and will.... continue to fan the flames.

Chloe to Lois: "But I know it's getting to you.....Welcome to the Bullpen Miss Lane!"

That's why I like Chloe for what she is, just Chloe. She is the one that is creating future Clark Kent/Superman and future Lois Lane.

Lex!

By giving her a kick in her complacent butt-----he jump started her feelings and the journalistic/investigative side of her!!

one thing that trips me out in these forums is how everyone is easily dissing Lois because there is no way she could become a reporter. And that she is milking her own cousin's passion. YET nobody talks about Clark in this regards. We have only seen Clark do little mindless stories at the high school paper. Where is his passion? Clark Kent does too become one of the top DP reporters too.

Maybe Chloe could influenced both Lois and Clark. Then she can go insane like her mother and let us have the real Lois/Clark. sorry bad joke there.

A lot of people don't discover their calling until late in college, if then. And a lot of people who are gung ho about something in high school often give it up and move on to something else. This show is about how the characters become the people we know as Superman, Lex, and now Lois. If they already were those people, what would be the point of the show? Enjoy the development. That's what the show is about.
