Ok i missed abit of the episode so i don't know if it was explained, but how did Lionel know about Braniac. He also seemed quite calm about it as well. Was this Jor-El controlling Lionel.
Plus there was that after shot of Lionel talking to Lex about the stolen ship, he then plays a few notes on the piano, i half expected his eyes to go grey or something, but nada!!!

I'm bumping this in order to keep from creating multiple threads on this topic.
I just wanted to say, upon reexamining the episode, one thing struck me. Seasons 1-3 Lionel would have absolutely freaked at the information that someone with Professor Fine's powers was living among us. He would have tried to exploit Prof. Fine in any way possible. However, this Lionel simply told Chloe about the story. I don't think it was to support Chloe either, but rather to support Clark.
This lends support to two theories: Lionel is still good, and/or, Lionel is still possessed by Jor-El.

I think Lionel is still possessed by Jor-El and has been since "Hidden".

As discussed in other threads, if Jor-El is controlling Lionel , why go to Chloe to give hints, why not just go to Clark, "Hey Clark, its me Jor-El here in Lionel, umm Brainiac is a bad robot from another planet and you should not believe him, by the way Jonathan your dad is DOA the next time I see him.

What has Jor-El ever done that made sense from a human perspective? Perhaps the same laws of nature that dictate that someone else would lose their life in order for Clark to be brought back, dictate that Jor-El do things a certain way.
Also, there are two different ideas at work here, "Jor-El is controlling Lionel" and "Jor-El is still possessing Lionel". In the first, Jor-El is in direct control of everything Lionel does. In the second, Jor-El is dormant within Lionel, and can only influence things within Lionel's mind, kind of like a conscience of sorts. Lionel still chooses what is done ultimately, and he would never, no matter how much his conscience pushed him, go talk to Clark about these things.
Now, this is all assuming TPTB would pull that complicated of a storyline. I realize that it's highly unlikely, but I would still like for it to happen. Even if it's solely for us to get a real idea of why Lionel is acting the way he is. The "he is still good" from Transference doesn't sit well with me, after his supposed return to evil in Onyx.

Well, Clark doesn't trust neither jor-el nor lionel. If you were Clark, would you believe Lionel would help you, after what he did in the past? I doubt it. And even if he knwe/thought it was Jor-el, he could not trust him either since he really thought Jor-El was responsible for his mother's disease. So maybe Jor-El just know that Chloe would trust lionel enough, or at least that he could drag her in all of this (and it worked pretty well, didn't it?)

Jor-El couldn't tell Clark about Fine cause Braniac would have just used the Green-K on him.
He probably told Chloe cause he knew she would be able to help CK if FIne used the meteor rock.
Also, I think that if Jor-El told CK then Fine would know about Lionel/Jor-El and could expose him later.
This is assuming it is Jor-El in Lionel still....

I'm going to agree with that but on some other level he is being influenced without his own knowledge!

I think Lionel is still good. When Jor-El was in his body he might've given Lionel information about Krypton and that's how he knows about Fine
