From that abruption during the middle of the scene to rushing the upcoming Lexmas episode, WB did a crappy job tonight.

They used up a over a minute of their timeslot to show the Superman Returns trailer. I didn't like the rushing of the Lexmas trailer (is it next week, is it airing closer to Christmas, what's going on there?) However, ending the scene between Jonathon and Clark on that abrupt note was pure genius. Anyone with an ounce of insight now knows that Jonathon Kent is going to die in episode 100. And this was nothing like the Chloe and Lana comments that made people think that it might be them. This was the freaking death gong sound! ;)

did I miss something? Didn't everything out there from commercials to tv and print ads say "someone close to Clark will die?" The Professor? WTF. I am disappointed.

From a crappy episode to a crappy trailer. I am thoroughly disappointed with Smallville all around tonight.

This isn't the episode where one of Clark's loved-ones die. That will be episode 100. And wether or not Fine actually died (since we do no thave a body and we've already seen that he has some "extra" abilities (morphing)) is in question.

You are one amongst few. It seems like most of us thoroughly enjoyed tonight's episode. Sorry it let you down.

However, we pretty much all agree the trailer sucked arse. So we can agree there. ^_^

I loved this ep also. Poor Jonathan Kent though, the death knell has sounded.

2 weeks! 2 weeks for new episodes! *cries* Well, that's much shorter than the break around this time last year isn't it? Anyways, I'm looking forward to it, even though the trailer didn't even tell us what it was about. :x

I loved the way the show ended. That was so hot with that death knoll. JK shoulda knocked on wood when he said those last lines.

The death gong is a trick. Pete's going to die for convenience purposes only. :D

they certainly tossed out enough red herrings with Mrs Kent, Pa Kent, Chloe... ringing all the bells imho.

Oh, no. I thought this ep was great! I wish they hadn't had Clark find out Fine was bad and think they should have had Clark wonder about it longer but this was good all through No Lana and not much Lois though she was an ungrateful idiot to confront Lex like that. He was right to call her on it and yes, Lois, he does write your check and, I believe, is your landlord since he owns the Talon. What a dummy. If you're gonna threaten someone, especially if he's your boss and landlord, be more circumspect.

But the Superman movie trailer, such as it was, did not impress. It was all dark and no good pix of Routh but that's okay. I still say the suit sucks, the plot as I understand it sucks and Routh is no comparison to Tom Welling. Except for the FX, the trailer was uninspiring.

Be fair - the voice over from the first movie was very inspiring.

Exactly. The voice over from the first movie. The only inspiring thing about the Superman Returns trailer was an over 20 year old voice over.

I think the teaser to too short to judge by. I've been to SHH!. I haven't heard enough of the movie to judge it yet. There are certainly some elements that sound not to my liking. But I'll wait until I learn more and see the full trailer before forming an opinon.

I did like that large group of people looking to the sky, I admit.

I didn't mind that the last scene ended abruptly, if anything I thought it was perfect, nothing more really needed to be said. The most abrupt ending was last year's "Jinx" when Clark demanded to know why Lex got Jason fired, it wasn't to help Clark, or Lana's rep, or moral high ground....it was...it was...Lex turns to Camera (Clark)...and! and! ROLL CREDITS!!! AHAHAHAAHA!!! Who the freak has conversations like that? Now that's abrupt! Last scene in "Solitude" was nothing like that.

The Lexmas clip really was the only thing they dropped the ball on really, especially since it won't air for like 2 more weeks, then go on hiatus, they should have advertised the heck out of that sucka! Apparently they did if you check out the news section, but not in my area! GRRRR!!! I know it pretty much looks like the promo pics, but still! I wanted to see it live action! *pouts* Okay, I'll stop complaining for now anyways.
