Were all Kryptonians as arrogant and superior as Jorel and Prof Fine are? You would think that some one as scientifically advanced as they obviously were would also be more evolved intellectualy and spiritually and thus be more caring and benevolent toward a humanoid race still growing and evolving.
I applaud Clark for defending the human race and almost picking up on Proff Fines bigotry. Im waiting for the days when Clarks trusting nature will also include mature character judgement assessments. He could sure use that trait NOW.

Basically yea. At the time of Krypton's destruction Kryptonians viewed themselves as superior. This superiority attitude influence them to isolate themselves from rest of the galaxies. They were basically so into themselves they also clones themselves.
The Kryptonians arrognance and superiority is one of the reasons why they died on Krypton. SV's Jor-El is an A.I. his true intentions are not known yet. Jor-El in comics and movies was actually very loving and was a rebel, outsider on Krypton. He was emotional while his follow Kryptonians were emotionless.

i know there was a brief comics storyline where Kal-El may also have been sent to earth to conquer. but personally i dont like that and i dont like how smallville is making Jor-El sometimes good, sometimes bad.
the good Jor-El from the more familiar superman stories is a great way to remember Kal-El's natural father.

IMO neither the supposed "Jor-el" or Brainiac are Kryptonians. Its a deception.

I dont really think kryptonians believe they are superior, more like the human race is not as evolved as they are - which in the world of superman is simply a fact - and they want Clark to acknowledge that. They are very technologically/academically advanced and are very fact oriented - they've simply cut out the "fat." To them, humans still have a lot of "fat" to cut out and Clark shouldn't waste his time playing with a stone tablet and a chisel when he could be using a keyboard and a screen.
