I touched on the subject in the other thread on this, but as always, i saw fit to make a poll. I also think Brainiac programmed the silver K to make him paranoid, meaning he could possibly reprogram it to do other things if he infects clark again.
It makes sense that it'd be his invention since it's not real in the comics.

Totally Brainiac's invention. As in the comic books. Silver K is a hoax.

I didn't know Silver K was a hoax in the comics... I said it was real, oh well.

ok, so did it infect clark or was brainiac manipulating clarks mind, like part of brainiac was inside clark so he was being controlled?

I don't think Brainiac was literally controlling Clark. If he was, he never would have removed it.
I'm not one to brag, but I kind of figured it was Brainiac's invention before I saw the episode. :p

I belive theire was a part of K in it. Bit like a knife with chemicals on it. The K cuts Clark the chemicals make him paranoid.

Silver K is a hoax. I'm glad they kept it a hoax in Smallville too. Here's a cool Kryptonite history lesson site. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kryptonite
My question is since the silver K was really only a normal rock covered with a piece of Brainiac, can Brainiac phys hurt Clark? It looks like he can.

was it just a regular rock? I know it was covered in Brainiac, but to me it looked like a piece of black k

Yeah; a regular rock or maybe a benign meteor rock that had a piece of Brainiac on it. He did absorb it back into him after all. I'm still wondering if Clark imagined the truck getting crashed, too.
So not real Kryptonite but with a real and dangerous effect on Clark. Now we have to ask why he did it? Why didn't he just claim to be a Kryptonian after knowing Clark for a while? What was the point of this in the long run unless it was strictly to make Clark sympathetic and beholden to Dr. Fine?

I think he did it so Clark would trust him more, cause Clark thinks that Lex gave Lana the rock. He thinks that Fine saved him. This way Clark has a really good reason to trust him before revealing who he is.
I think he imagined the truck, but did he really talk to Prof. Fine about it or was that imagined like Fine said?

Fine wants Clark to trust him and wants them to have a good relationship before he told him about be a Kryptonian. Not just the teacher/student and boss/intern relationship they started off with.
I believe the truck was Brainiac because of the coloring. If you notice, the Kent's trucks are usually blue or red (superman colors). The truck the ran Clark off the rode was all black, including the windows (as of this season Brainiac colors). Sure you could make the argument that it was one of Lex's men, but I don't see Lex trying to kill Clark at this point in time. It could have been a test, maybe Lex's speculation about Clark hit a new high when Clark came back from the dead, but I don't think he would acutally put him in a situation where he has a high probability of dieing if he turns out to be a normal guy.

Brainiac is known for spreading himself about. The Silver K in the comics is fake; I love how they kept that consistent with Smallville.
He's manipulated Clark's mind before (in the comics) and Bruce's and Lex's mind in the cartoon.
It's nanites (sp?) or something similar to them that he uses.
ps...Besides, the rock practically 'bit' Clark. I don't think it's just a matter of "Brainiac sends Lana a piece of Silver-K in hopes Clark might cut himself with it and get a piece caught in his finger." The rock attacked him--he just didn't realize it.

Wow! This thread has the most votes out of all my polls i think! Why did brainiac drop it near the ship at the end? To frame lex?

the silver k clearly IS brainiac!!! Thats why hes said "We're in this together".......... twice!!! Because they literally were... a piece of brainiac was inside clark the whole time.

I never thought about it that way. That's pretty cool.
But the silver kryptonite is clearly an invention of Fine. Otherwise, why would he have absorbed it at the end?
His "Assistant". and was successful when he manipulated Clark to look up the Licence Plate number for him. (unoffically drafted to be his grad. asst.

I'm sure he has lots of reasons for leaving some behind.
