New colors of Kryptonite

I really hope this isn't something they're contriving every season now. It didn't work in Pre-crisis comics, where they ended up with like 40 kinds. Black K was a cheap way out in Crusade, I think we all agree, but now it's getting out of hand.

It's a cheap plot device; they can do better than this. Okay, not MAGIC, that was a worse idea, but you know what I mean.

i want to see a combo of all kryptonite so far. take clark and tie him up in green kryptonite rope then take black kryptonite and split clark into good and bad then give bad clark red kryptonite to make him extra evil then give extra evil clark silver kryptonite to make him evil and crazy thenb untie them and have good clark battle with evil clark. like brianiac could make an evil clark to destroy everything and clark needs to stop him but it would be hard since he cant just use black kryptonite to put together cause if he does the silver and red will turn good clark evil for good.

I don't think the different colors of Kryptonite is that bad of a plot device. It *could* get out of hand, but it hasn't yet, except for the Black K.

The Silver K provided a perfect tool to show Clark unreasonably paranoid, because it's unlikely that drugs on Earth effect him and it's highly unlikely that he would ever get that way of his own free will. The options were either a new color of Kryptonite, or some other substance that had been experimented on with some forms of Kryptonite we already know. Either way, someone somewhere would be unhappy with it as a plot device, so TPTB ultimately made the decision they thought best.

I agree, Dragon... they had to have SOME way to do it... but I think we all agree they wrote themselves into a corner with Crusade. I just don't want it to get to the point where they don't come up with clever ways out of problems anymore, someone just shows up in the last 10 minutes and says "Here's purple Kryptonite! It'll turn everything back to normal before the credits roll!"

And there WAS rainbow K pre-crisis. Can anyone list all the different kinds and what they did back in the day? It was insane.

I thought the silver was a really good plot device. It was cool seeing such a different side of Clark that could only be brought out by a new kryptonite.

Personally, I think, what is it, pink kryptonite? The one that makes people gay, would be hilarious to have. Hahaha...

If you paid attention, you'd realize that it wasn't actually silver kryptonite..it was just a black piece of rock...which could have been kryptonite, but the silver part was from Braniac's body.

They borrow alot of Superboy stuff in the Smallville show and SUperboy had alot of kryptonite colors. Even gold kryptonite that makes a kryptonian lose his powers permanently.

On average, there's been a new type of kryptonite each season so you can count on seeing another in season 6.
