I'm sorry to the guys who crafted the silver K, but it looks really really cheap. I mean green and red K at least has some reality to it, but silver K just looks like silver jewelry melted down with black twizzler bits glued on. Looks so unreal . . .

well why dont you go to another planet, chip off a piece of it, and then bring it back so they have something to go on... DUH

Also, how are they not gonna think about how it ONLY infects Clark and no one else?

It looked like a black rock randomly covered with foil.

It's not Kryptonite. Like in the comics, it is a hoax. If it was kryptonite Clark probably would have been affected by it before it cut him. I think they made it look the way it did intentionally, if they wanted to make it look like kryptonie, they would have.

I think silver k was just a part of Brainiac, i.e. nanites infused with an otherwise normal rock.:\

Exactly.

Yeah, just watch the end of the episode. It was just some old rock that Brainiac coated.

I'm glad because silver k is essentially the same as red k and I'd like to draw the line at three kryptonites!

I think I misunderstood what you meant. You don't want silver k in SV because you think that the 3 we already have it enough :)
now I get you

I actually expected it to be completely silver, not black with what looked like foil or something on it :\

i thought it was gonna glow when he was near it like every other kind of kryptonite on the show, but since it turned out to be a fake i understand why they didnt decide for it to do that

Bet it wasn't cheap to them. After the amount of effects in Arrival, they're lucky they could afford the can of spray paint!

Why does Brainiac keep going back to his ship anyway? Does he need it's power to manifest stuff like bogus kryptonite??

it looked like that because it wasnt a real meteor rock , it was just a piece of rock and he added something that afects Clark conscius. AMAZING episode. So it looked cheap because wasnt a real meteor rock

Uh, it's nothing like red k.

Red k and silver k both serve the purpose of making Clark dangerous, so it's redundant to have both accessible at all times. Don't be so literal.

Actually, all those slanted bars of rock looks like a chunk of the fortress of solitude. Interesting...

 :rotfl:

I think it looks the way it does because it's a syringe masquerading as a rock. So I didn't mind the way it looked.

Don't be so literal? Red and silver are completely different. They make Clark dangerous, but that's it. Red brings out his inner desires, silver brings out his fears. RedClark is purposefully mean and wild, while SilverClark does it in desperation. RedClark doesn't care about his secret and who knows, while SilverClark does and wants to protect it.

Alike? No.

Green kryptonite doesn't affect everyone. lana wore i around her neck for almost 2 season and it never affected her. So why would it be strange for silver krytonite to only affect Clark

I thought it was a rather cool looking mineral sample.
(Tell the truth - have YOU ever found anything that looked like that in your travels?)

It did NOT look to me like it was just created in the prop shop - it looked like a real mineral with crystaline structures.
I spent a little time trying to idntify the types of minerals and it looks to me like something in the Pyroxene or Amphibole family. The crystal structures might be a form of ferro-actinolite.

The question I have would be - did the prop crew take a shiny mineral and spray it with matte clear to dull the surface at the end of the episode, after Brainiac/Fine re-absorbed the shiny stuff -
OR
did the prop crew take a dull black rock and spray it with a silvery finish for the rest of the episode.

What bothered me was that this "Meteor-rock" didn't look like it came out of a meteor, it was too uniform, with well-formed crystals on all sides of it. It would be very unusual for something like that to emerge from a meteor without more stuff attached to it or signs of fractures and shearing, even if the meteor exploded in a perfect way. Even a freshman like Lana should have wondered about that.

Silver kryptonite did look fake. Especially when Fine pulled it out of Clark. You could tell that the whole piece was CGI.
