Since this may be considered, "spoilers" I didn't know where to put it since there wasn't a "General Season Five Episodes" thread. Post please, I'm curious to see what you think. :)
We have six eps aired. Out of those, Thirst was the worst for me.

None of the has been really bad, sure Thirst was very fishy but it was fun to watch.

I agree. I LOVE Smallville, so it pains me when I say that a particular episode wasn't fantastic...but something was missing in "Exposed".

Aqua by far. One of the most boring episodes of the show.

As much as Exposed had a few good parts, I thought the episode fell a little flat. I rate it last behind Thirst, I liked thirst better, and aqua better than thirst, and the first 3 eps were just on another playing field, really great.

Aqua gets nod for worst acting and worst guest star.
Exposed gets nod for being the most pointless and uninteresting episode so far. It was the first time in a long time where after I'd wished I'd done something other than watch it.

Eh, I didn't mean "Horribly bad". Should have rephrased that. I meant "least favorite". :)

Here is my order from worst to best, starting with the worst. I enjoyed them all, but thought Aqua was a good idea that was done poorly, and Thirst was a poor idea that was done poorly.
1. Thirst
2. Aqua
3. Mortal
4. Exposed
5. Arrival
6. Hidden

Tiny glimmer of metropolis superman saved this one. Otherwise, Erica's boob, overrated. You cannot carry an hour on Erica's boob.
ARGH it's so frustrating having an awesome Lois and Clark and having no room for sexual tension! ARGH.

I'm getting a little tired of people saying 'thirst'.
1) it was kinda funny
2) the acting in it was not particualrly bad
3) the costumes were cute and funny
4)All the main characters participated to some extent
5) it was holiday themed which was nice to see.... tv shows that ignore the calendar tend to get bland
6) The special effecst were about as good as any other episode.
7) it was not meant as a plot continuing episode (exposed was supposed to be) and therefore didn't really need to accomplish much there (which exposed really DIDN'T when it was supposed to).
8) The actual cinemtography and sets as well as the costumes were pretty good and entertaining to see
So it obviously had a lot going for it.
The only thing people seem to whine about from an episode standpoint ?
1) it has vampires.... and umm vampires aren't comic booky
Umm yes they are... there are many comic books with vampires, both mystical and 'diseased' varieties. Were there moments of confusion over powers and what the bites did ... yes... did that detract from it being entertaining episode ? not really. The people who seem to bash it as an episode as a whole just keep coming back to 'it had vampires.. how cheesy'. I truly feel sorry for the people that get that hung up on the point and don't even give the episode a chance.
Of course these same people are are overjoyed at Aqua and Exposed cause they can see Erica Durance in a bikini... honestly ... that's pathetic. Meanwhile between insanely bad acting and pointless plots those 2 episodes were almost unbearable to watch.
Erica's tits do not make an episode good.... and having vampires does not make an episode bad. Grow up.
If I had to pick one of the 3 to show a nonsmallville watcher to get them to appreciate the actors and scenes on the show... it would be thirst hands down.
I can't imagine someone watching the other 2 and not saying 'wtf is the point of this show ? Horrible acting ? good guys find bad guy who runs away episode ends? am I supposed to like this show cause it has bikinis ? Baywatch had those too but at least they didn't waste money on special effects....'
Thirst!
Thirst!
Thirst!
I didn't mind the vampires so much (especially since it was around halloween). I just thought the style of the show was horrible. Some shows benefit from voice-over work (Grey's Anatomy), but some don't. chloe narrating the episode ruined it for me, and not just because I despise the character. If anyone else had narrated it, I would have been just as annoyed. The ending narration was horrible. They included a bunch of superman references that didn't make any sense coming from the narrator. It almost seemed as if they had a 30 minute episode, and added the flash back, daily planet scene at the end, and all the narration to fill 43 minutes.

They never did narration before, wonder why they did it this time. I liked thirst a lot, i thought exposed was okay.
For me, Exposed wasn't bad and it wasn't especially good. It was fluff. It did set up Jonathan to enter politics, but didn't advance the Professor Fine storyline at all, which is unfortunate.
It was fun to see the Duke boys ride again though.

AGREE!!! AGREE!!!! Actually, Lois is annoying all the time for me. A.C. was overly-muscular, Lois was just odd, and wouldn't Clark superspeed out of the way when the waterball was coming at him? Tjat REALLY annoys me. A ton. Here's my list, from least favorite to fave:
1. AQUA
2. Exposed
3. Thirst- hey!! I liked it!!
4. Mortal
5./6. Tied with Arrival and Hidden

Aqua was bad all through but, while Mortal had some good scenes, the illogical and completely appalling Clana sex, showing us a Clark who'd not only date a girl who hates people like him but would lie to have sex with her and then Hidden in which he complains about having his abilities and a destiny to fulfill because nothing is as important as screwing Lana Lang, were really the worst in a way. That gave us a man who's so selfish he seems to have lost any hope of ever being Superman becasue he wants to make Lana the center of the universe. This whole story arc is awful.

Thirst. It's not the whole vampire thing, it's just the way they went about it. And the whole beginning scene with the scantily clad sorority girls totally turned me off before the ep was even 10 minutes in. I loved the Marsters scenes, though.

Exposed was mostly lame, it was like a throw back to the low point of S4. :P
I missed Aqua, so i don't know about that. Thirst was better than expected, so it's been a strong season so far.
I just hope Exposed isn't a sign of what's to come, seems like TPTB always get lazy after having a few good eps early, then it churn out a bunch of filler that is boring and/or makes no sense. A couple strong eps in the middle, then more recycled tripe while they save all the important stuff for the final episode. Same pattern every season. :\
Exposed, no question. I hated Thirst and Aqua, which shows how bad it was. Horrible and boring.

I think Arrival is over rated. It wasn't that great an episode. But I do agree that Thirst and Mortal were probably the worst ones.

Worst to Best
1) Thirst - What the heck are vampires doing on Smallville? It's true that vampires don't make an episode bad, but it's also true they don't do much to a plot mostly about aliens and not bats. The plot didn't flow and these "Lana conviniently loses her memory" episodes really don't work. There wasn't much expected from it and it didn't even meet that expectation.
Best thing that happened? The background storyline. A special guest star with a season long little contract dealy made this episode a little more than something I'll never watch again.
2) Hidden - What a crappy storyline. I liked how Clark got his powers back. I liked it when he got killed. I liked parts of it like the Clark and Chloe interaction.
However, the way Lana saw him die, cry when they carried him out and then just see him appear again and instead of asking funny questions, jump up and hug him when he looks like he's burnt to crisp? Um...not very logical considering that all Lana's ever wanted is for him to be honest with her.
And then her never suspect anything ever again as though it never happened?
That's even worse.
3) Mortal - appalling FotW episode. As much as Chloe and Clark interaction was excellent this episode, it didn't save it from being utterly disgusting and just plain boring.
The sex scene capped it off. You would think the two would have the decency not to do something like that.
4) Exposed - Geez, I've never been so dissapointed with a Lois episode. Her pole-dancing and then lap-dancing did nothing for me but make me completely freak out about Lois being out of character.
And Jack Jennings? That guy was so boring I felt like changing the channel during a Smallville episode.
However, Metropolis, Daily Planet, and Clark/Chloe & Clark/Lois saved this episode from being dreadful.
5) Aqua - Despite some very stiff acting from a certain guest star, I absolutely adored this episode.
Clark/Lois was really, really good.
Aquaman on Smallville. 'Nuff said. Alan got some parts of him part down perfectly. His cheesy smile was what really capped it for me.
6) Arrival - 'Nuff said. This episode was brilliant.

For me its probably Thirst, the vampire stuff just sucked crap. The only thing that saved this episode from being utter garbage was the Braniac/Lex interactions. Though Exposed and Aqua were far from great either.

Thirst, no contest. Followed by Fanatic, Tomb, and to a lesser extent Aqua. I actually enjoyed Exposed. Not GREAT, but I liked the introduction of the senate story, seeing Wopat and JS together, and the ending with the helicopter. It felt like Lois and Clark episode--a bit silly, but enjoyable.
