When do you think that Clark is going to realize the fact that he has been flying? We saw the same effects when he jumped up and grabbed the helicopter as we have every time he has flown.

And don't give me that "he was jumping" crap, the effects were still there on his way down too.

He did NOT fly yet!
The only flying we saw was in season 4.
Trust me, you will know when Clark will fly.

The fx when he was coming back down has gotta be a mistake. Assuming the wavy lines show when he's gaining energy to defy gravity, that amount of energy shouldn't be needed to slow his descent.
I don't think he was jumping tho. He was "super jumping" :)

That's my point, the energy is always on when he is flying, whether up or down, that is why I think it is flying.

How do you think he can come down at super speed as well? He doesn't just fly up and then float down.

He is making bigger leaps is all.

They wouldn't need special effects for a jump.

Clark Super leaded into the air, (It's still some type of form the power of Flight.)

If it is a super jump yes all the way back to S2. The cleary said Clark will not fly but only Kal-El for right now.

They did, but come on.....rules are made to be broken.

I agree with the super jump idea. I think it is a way to ease into flight. He won't just all of sudden take off and fly one day. This way it's like he is learning to fly, but doesn't realize that is what he is doing.

I think they are definitley hinting/forshadowing that he is using his flying powers, but he has no idea he is using them when he jumps.

Ever since they used the flying effects in Season 4, they thought it would be cool to use it again so they used it for the super jumps in Season 5.

the special effects when he jumps is not cause he is jumping its because its superspeed. he jumps fast. he needs to learn how to jump in order to get into the air. then he needs to learn to hover so he can stay in the air.. after that he needs to learn how to control the hovering so he can move in the air which is flying.

I have no clue what episode it is, but I remember Clark was dreaming of Lana and floated off his bed. I think it was Season 1 or Season 2.

When it comes time for Clark to fly, we'll know about it ;) It's not something AlMiles would slip into an episode with the idea that "Oh btw, Clark flies now".
I think if it ever comes in it'll be more exciting and dramatic than Crusade when Kal-El flew.

He's not flying, it's just a jump he made at *superspeed* which is why you saw the effects. The effects were still there when he was on the ground tying the cable to the building because he was still at super speed.

And I doubt you'll see him fly during the 6th episode of the season.

FYI: In the original comic in 1938, Superman could not fly but only jump 1/8th of a mile at time ;)

it does look like the super jumps are a mixture of jumps/fly with fly possibly coming soon.

exactly

what is wrong with people?? the helicopter was only like 20 feet off the ground...even if he could fly, why the hell would he waste his effort and energy for something that low?? jeeeeeez

Yes they would!
He's jumping fast. Obviously there's going to be a special effect
