That, and I think that he may consider himself to be a hero, even through his darkness.

He always thought Segeeth was the hero ....sorry if I spelt it wrong

in the Indian legend....which he meant him

Yeah, I hope that they are going back to that, instead of him just being outright EEEEEVIL.

Aw, chrismen. Lex talks about Lana? I love that and I can't wait to hear it. Gosh. I know she's not in this eppy, but I hoped there would be some connection, and this sounds like it. And I'm happy that Lex had nice moments in the episode too, but if he's talking about Lana, in his wonderful subtle way, then I'm just too happy. Thanks for that. I can't wait for it + the "Splinter" trailer!

I think the most important thing I ever learned about Lex on this show is that Lex views the man who fights a superman, a hero in himself. Meaning Lex sees himself as a hero when he fights Clark and his abiilites, to keep in him check if you will. Lex always goes the extra mile for Lana. lex always makes excuses to be around lana and comments about being a 3rd wheel. Lex/Lana/Clark triangle is getting some good fleshing out.

Lex love Lana....hahah...In episode thirst...when clark came to lex and told lex that chloe needs help from the bite...lex didnt seem to give a rats rear about chloe...as soon as he heard lana's name his eyes opened wider and he was like "lana??"

The question is not whether lex likes lana...but really...does lois now realize she likes clark?...cuz she gave him a look in the end of the episode when he said "Ei ei sailor"...or whatever he said. :D

I was thinking the same thing when I heard the David story. I wonder if Clark understood what he was implying.

I'm convinced he loves her now.

Exactly, and great point on Lex's point of the hero from "Talisman". Which is touched upon again from his King David story.

Somebody help me understand how Lex was actually referring to his love/obsession for Lana while lecturing Clark about the moral fallibility of King David. I understand that Lex sees himself as a hero or a better word might be, a leader and that he sees Clark's humble, meek, unassuming manner and selflessness as weaknesses but the context of the King David references dealt with Clark's idealized, naive view of heroism. So are you saying that the beautiful women that captivated King David was an allusion to Lana? Will Lex find a way to occupy Clark or get him embroiled in some metaphorical battle in order to have Lana all to himself? How does Lex recall King David?

Of Course he loves Lana, Cause i was thinking when he was telling the whole "David" story like why is he telling that? and then i was like it's got to be about Lana. And it was funny how on thirst he didn't care about Chloe's well being but he popped his head right up when he heard Lana's name! lol

I agree mainly with jtatsiue. Lex started to tell the story when Clark was upset his visions of heroes was destroyed. I dont think Lex was meaning Lana...although this could be a subtle slip in from the writers
