It is about time that Clark uses his powers. I mean this whole time I was waiting, it is about time, and nicely done with the helicopter rescue.

ya it was cool how he just pulled down the helicopter. kind of looked like the episode with that guy who turned evil in the day and pulled down lionels helicopter but this one was alot better.

It was alot like Superman 1. He even grabbed it with one hand like in the movie.

Best scene of the episode...which really isn't saying much, but it really was a fantastic display of powers. The part where he caught the helicopter was especially stunning.
I loved Clark's pathetic excuse when Lois and the guy got out.

For those of you who are not familiar with the first Superman movie.
Notice, that scene was a "wink and a nod" to Christopher Reeve's 1978 'Superman the Movie' where he for the first time rescues Lois at top the DP when the helicopter she was in got caught on the cables at take-off!
He catches Lois as she falls from the chopper with one arm and catches the chopper with the other hand!! That was his/Superman's very first appearance in Metropolis and first rescue!

i think it was a nice nod to the first supes film.

Actually, it went by kind of fast- I wanted to see Clark leap up to the copter, but we only saw him on the way down. Special effects never take it far enough this season.

Kinda odd... why wouldnt he just jump and pull it down.

I wondered about that as well, hahnyc. The way I see it, Clark needed a plausible cover, so he decided to use the cable to bring the helicopter down...that way he could say it got caught. What could he possibly say if he had jumped up and pulled it back down himself?

Because using the hook ensures that it comes down...he is stablised on the ground and thus can use more force to bring it down.

because it doesn't matter how strong you are if your up in the air... you can't get leverage to "pull it down" unless clark could alter how heavy he was...
Pulling from the ground gave him somewhere to actually pull from and it wasn't a weight/gravity issue...

It was awesome... when he caught the copter... holy smokes he's just like superman I. At least Clark gets stronger each season.

Definatly a cool scene. I now look forward to his "moment" in each show now. They are improving.

"Kal-El" could have pulled it down, he can fly.

Here's a good one for you all!!
We all saw the scene of course but, from a different perspective, consider the super feats taking place on the roof top!
We've seen tight shots and the far shots of the helicopter scene with all those other office buildings in the background surrounding the helipad.
All someone had to do was look out their window to see SuperClark do his thing!!
How's that grab you guys??:D
And we all heard Clark say as they all gathered around the copter look on the ground to it's landing struts seemingly caught on the "yellow cable"----same color cable as in Superman I rooftoop chopper scene!
Clark:...."must have been caught on the cable!":D
Talk about "wink and nod"! Loved it!

The helicopter scene was really cool!
I loved it when he yanked the helicopter down and caught it in his hand! It was so unexpected it made me jump in my seat and scream "Whoa!"

The only problem with the helicopter scene is that it is total BS.
Superstrength does not mean you suddenly weight 3 or 4 tons... The downward thrust from the helicopter blodes would have been enough to lift clark off the ground.
It's the same thing with getting hit by a car. In the first episode he got hit by a truck and was correctly carried backwards (even though he made a nice dent with his arms in the front of the truck). The later scene with Chloe and Alicia made no sense. A car doing 50 has a lot of momentum and while I'm sure he could 'catch' it if it went up in the air suddenly, the only thing counteracting the momentum of the car would be the static friction of his sneakers on pavement caused by his own weight.
The only thing that would keep him down while pulling on a helicopter or keep him stationary when a huge object hits him is flying ability (or some other ability similar to Juggernaut's where you have control over the inertia of your own body).
They did that scene and catching the car for dramatic effect but both made no sense given his current powers. If they wanted to make it believable he would be punching his hand or legs down through the concrete to give himself more stability , or punching through a roof and grabbing a girder to hold the helicopter down.

That all may be true, if you're thinking in human terms.
Clark is Kryptonian, our human concepts and certain laws of physics do not apply to him considering the secrets Jor-El gives to him.:D
