My sister is still hooked, watching, and jumping up and down during the last 5 minutes of Smallville when it's on @ 9:00.

I watch it in hopes that Lorali and Luke will hook up :p

I skipped the first couple of years, then watched (that's how I found Smallville) then quit because sometimes I just CAN'T TAKE Lorelai's NON-STOP blathering. I mean, she just comes up with stuff and she never trips over a word or has a mis - thought. It's all too perfect and too perfectly obnoxious. Take a breath, woman!

Seems like a cute show, but I've never watched it regularly - just here and there. I have no idea if the storylines are going downhill this season, but it wouldn't be the first time I've heard that.

I love that show! We are still in s3 in Greece! Is it still good in s4?

I am glad to hear thoughts from other big fans of the show. I am (was) a huge fan until this season, and now I have lost almost all interest in it completely. The show has lost everything about it that gave it sparkle.

With Rory off to college now, I find that it has split into almost two separate shows: the Yale show and the Stars Hollow show. Plus, they made way too much of a change in the characters, and I know it was for various reasons, but to lose Jesse, Dean and Dave all in one season really changes the show.

I'm not at all into the college stuff yet and Lorelai's life without Rory is just not all that exciting. Even Luke and Lorelai exchanges are luke warm, no pun intended.

rory is gone so what kind of plot could they possibly create? oh no! rory has too much homework!

Anyways, i am a fan so i can't wait to see it even if i get disappointed! LOL

they're only on s1 in the Uk but i've seen the other seasons including whats been shown of s4.

i love lorelai, everyone says its me, coz the ways she oes on about silly things and always references tv and movies is what i do. the writers on the show have good imaginations. :p

s4 so far isn't like the other seasons but i wouldn't say it's a coplete flop. every show has go to grow and evolve like the people who watch it and like anyone does in their life. they've got to explore new ways of how the show can feature all its main cast and still have that craziness thats attracted its audience.

i'm sure and i hope they will find their way and the show will get better and better.

I think having Rory away at Yale lets all of the characters grow a little bit by not having them all in the same setting around the same people all the time.

Gilmore is on season 5 in America

Can't say that I'm loving it either. I still watch it but now I am wondering why?

Rory is in her second year at college.

It's October 26th, and why am I still watching this show?

I think it's out of habbit.

Loved it up until last season's cliffhanger. Now, I pretty much hate it. I wanted Luke and Lorelai to get together but not like that. One minute they're on their first date and the next minute they're naked?

Also, what's with the the preview for next week? the umbrellas for the Mary Poppins dealio? Aren't those kids supposed to be smart?

*kicks self for still watching this show, but it looks like I'll probably keep doing it*

*wonders why?*

I watched it again!

Ugh!

Well, it's official, if it's even possible I hate Lorelai's parents even more. Man, Luke is wonderful & they just trash and manipulate him. Leave Luke alone! He's perfect the way he is all flannel-like and down to earth.

It's funny cause I seem to be the only one watching and the only one posting, so you'd think I could take a hint, ha ha!

Well, I still hate Rory's grandparents!

I love that french fries are the devil's starchy fingers!

And to steal a term from this board, that guy that keeps calling Rory, "Ace" is definitely
Tristan 2.0

Also, it's so crazy how Rory is becoming exactly what Lorelai has spent her whole life running from?

smallville_girlie

I didn't think is was a great episode. I agree with you that Lorelai's parents are annoying but Richard is more barable then Emily.

*in shock someone else posted to this thread*

:) Hey!

I'm not sure which grandparent I dislike more, but Emily sure is more vindicctive & petty.

But those two deserve each other, I can't believe they fight like cats and dogs and then get together just to try and fix Luke, who doesn't need any fixing, IMO & to try & find

Rory someone supposedly "suitable"

Way to go "Ace."

EDIT: ???Can't get the spoiler tags to work???

What's so great about Christopher? Come on, Lorelai, remember?

Luke deserves the very best!

I just don't even care to comment on my 3 least fav. people: Richard, Emily, & Rory!

Also, we have to wait 2 weeks to find out about
Luke's secret. How could it be that secret though? Isn't that the shed where he hid Jess's car that time?

Also, about Luke's secret "Dark Day," give me a break. Come on! Luke's Dad ran that hardware store in Stars Hollow, so everyone in town would've known it was the anniversary of his death.

Those folks know every festival, every everything, but they are completely in the dark about Luke's "Dark Day?"

That was completely and utterly a rediculous secret.

Give me a break!

The grandparents are a pain and I agree that Emily is the ultimate pain.

I like Lorelei, but with her history, I don't trust her not to dump on Luke. Luke deserves the best, just like Clark.

I don't like how Rory got involved with Dean and added to his messed up situation. Alexis Bledel is so, what, awkward? Even my daughter can't stand her.

Paris? Gad, dump that whacko.

Kurt, now there is an oddball one can like.

Actually, it is Rory who is going downhill to me. Turning nicely slutty after being the aggressor with Dean and starting that affair, now with RichBoy.

Yes, to make money & get an in with Lorelai. I think she shouldn't have even called him about it in the first place.

Last night Gramma and Grandpa Gilmore went in upper class ecstasy at the thought of Rory marrying short-blonde-rich boy and had the kids over to dinner. Lorelai came but they treated her like a wayward daughter. Luke appears to have bought a landmark house to feather his nest and there was some odd question Lorelai asking Suki how the latter knew that she was pregnant. (I hope I heard that right)

Well, what'd you all think?

Who do you think will propose next week? If I remember correctly, they just said 'one of these people', so it could be one of the girls too. I think it might be Rory. She's trying to re-evaluate her life and she's upset so maybe she asks Logan.

ARGH to Mr. Huntsberger (sp?). I know he 'meant well', but geeze...talk about destroying a lifelong dream. I can't wait for next week. Looks great!

Oh, one more thing. Now I know this is going to sound mean and I don't mean for it to but did you guys notice Kirk's weird chest? He looked a little deformed, like he had surgery there. You know what I'm talking about?

SteveS
05-11-2005, 09:34 AM
Kirk's chest, yeah, it was weird, I kept staring at it. More so than at Lois', he is truly a weird specimen.

Whether it is Luke who proposes next week or not, it will be Luke and Lorelai who tie the knot ultimately. Rory is far too young and there is absolutely no reason for her ultra rich boyfriend to get married at 20 when he can play forever.

clarkoholic
05-11-2005, 09:39 AM
Yeah I hope its Luke and Lorelai too.

xrosenbaumforever
05-11-2005, 12:17 PM
When he can play forever.. lmaoo.. it's probably true, I absolutely despise. The way he is turning Rory, and he's just.. growl.. He's more a bad boy then JESS. And Jess was as far as a bad boy could go, or so we thought o-o Evil, evil, Logan..

But I actually know its going to be .... and ....... soo I just cant wait :D And I wont be able to live during the summer.. I hate the summer break.. I wish they would go all the way through it and film and whatnot, but I know that they cant, and the actors and actresses of course, need a break.. the deserve it. I'm actually looking forward to this finale more than Commencement O_o It's weird. I dont really like SV all that much anymore, its not very good to me, the plots are still going downward.. and I may not even watch Commencement next wednesday, I'll just watch the taped version of it.. it doesnt look all that good actually :/ Except the shirtless Lex scene. WOW.. that was by far the best, season finale of Gilmore Girls ever. EVER! OMG.. wow.. the last scene of the ep, at Luke's, when she suddenly realizes, and asks him. Wow. Especially his rant about how they will drive her and make sure she goes to classes, and so she doesnt drop out of Yale. And the moment where Lorelai is looking in on Rory through the windows at the grandparents house, while she was putting her books in her new room. Wow. I was just.. wow. Blown away. And the tour for the band.. awesome :D I mean. Go mama Kim! Hah. Tamberine band. LOL..

Yes, it was outstanding. Lorelai knocked me and Luke for a loop, never would have guessed that twist ever. I think she got a slight inkling when he mentioned 'whats about the kids?' or whatever when he was with her at the inn. Watched the ending 3 times already.

The funniest quote of the ep was:

random bicyclists: "Hole" "Hole"
Luke: "Thats it!!"
random bicyclists: "Bat!" "Bat!" "Bat!"

Well, it's kind of obvious that he asks her what she said, absorbs it all and says either yes, err, uhmm.. or just sits and stares at her for a moment. Or all of them!

xP I'm a bit hyper today. Its weird. Maybe its that I've been reading scripts of season five over and over for almost 12 hours LMAO.

I've only recently discovered this show and have been trying to catch up on the repeats on ABC Family but I love this show so far... Lorelai (sp??? lol) is crazy and I love her. :D Luke is a very lucky man I tell ya.

I guess the season I have been watching on ABC Family has been S3 and I like Rory in those, but the brand new ones from this season that I've actually seen I don't much like her anymore.

I think her trying to change for Logan [Dean and Jess all in one oh joy..] is what made her go down hill. She takes to many chances for him, and shes trying to change who she is really for him, which makes her even more not herself. I dont know if that made any sense :P

WHAT ABOUT THE KIDS?! Ahahaha I cant stop laughing when I even think about his face or her face when he says that. Mwuaha. I love Scott, hes an awesome actor. Lovin the hat :P

Hey, does anyone have the finale of this season, and eps 2 and 3 of this season on their computer that they downloaded that they could send to me through yousendit.com? Anyone know of any other way that we [you know who you are :P] could try to use?

agreed.

I didn't think that Rory loosing her virginity to Dean (a man who was married to someone else at the time) was such a great way to go about things, but that's just my opinion.

Yeah, I really didn't like that they thought just so the character

would'nt be perfect they have her become an adulterer.

I still am somewhat ticked off at the writers about that.

The idgits also used that to create a rift between her and her

mother which I don't like because their bond is such a big part

of the show but they've been depending on that a lot recently

because they are using the season finale with RORY not going

back to school and staying with her grandparents to create yet

another rift. If they hadn't had Lorelai propose to Luke at the

end I would've thought they are running out of ideas.

I completely agree. I haven't seen the first few episodes but I was told about them and it upset me to hear that about her. It made her look slutty, IMO.

I think I remember a line where Rory said, "He's my Dean" and Lorelai responded with "No, he's Lindsay's. You're the other women" (something along those lines). I don't like that they made her the other women.

When I was voting for Tom and Allison, I noticed that Alexis Bledel and Gilmore Girls were nominated in several categories for the Teen Choice Awards. The TCA aren't a prestigious thing but hey, might as well go vote for them for fun and publicity.

CLICK HERE TO VOTE (https://www.timeinc.net/teenpeople/secure/web/teenchoice/2005/terms.html)

One thing I found odd was that Gilmore Girls & Alexis were nominated in the Comedy categories. I was under the impression that it was a drama. I think the show is funny as hell but when Lauren Graham was nominated for a Golden Globe (and something else) it was for Drama.

I guess because this is a teen award show they look at GG as comedy more than drama. Whatever.

Go Alexis and Gilmore Girls!

Here's one of my favorite Gilmore Girls' quotes since I think the dialogue's the best part of the show

LORELAI: Uh, so let's get back to the party recap. Any little details you wanna tell Mommy?
RORY: Jess and Dean got into the fight.
LORELAI: Over you.
RORY: I was a contributing factor.
LORELAI: Was anyone hurt?
RORY: No.
LORELAI: And that's why the cops came and broke up the party?
RORY: Yes.
LORELAI: So not only did you go to a cop-raided party but you started the raid?
RORY: Yes.
LORELAI: This fence is broken because of you, this crap is on the ground because of you.
RORY: What's your point?
LORELAI: [sings] Did you ever know that you're my hero?

or....

RORY: Okay, please take this the way it’s intended, but I am going to kick Dave in the shins repeatedly for the next hour and a half.
LANE: Why?
RORY: Why? Did you hear the way he was talking to you? "Play like a guy, Lane." Well, cry like a girl, Dave! :rotfl:

Lorelai: Oh, that's nice.
Rory: Mom...

On a side note, here's a funny quote, even though its not from the show. It's from one of the many fanfictions I read.

"He was into kinky stuff. But don’t worry, just to make you feel better about the situation, I’ll give you half of the money," Lorelai said. "Kind of as if you’re my pimp. I’ll call you PimpLuke. Or Pluke, for short. How’s that?"

06-17-2005, 01:45 PM
Sure ^^ I can send the link. I will post it here so anyone who wants to read it can also. It is possibly the best one I've ever read, or atleast lately.

During the fic, Luke and Lorelai are married, obviously, but the baby doesnt come until about 4-5 chapters before the story ends [-cries- wish it didnt end, oh well.] But one of the many twists of the story is that Rory is not in Yale yet, its set during season three and when she is in her senior year of Chilton. Jess is in the story, but there is no attraction between him and Rory. Theres hardly any interaction either. Rory is still with Dean still. Its a really good one :D Its 26 chapters. Not that long compared to the 47 one I just read

It's Still There.

If you want some really good SV fan fics I can recommend. I've read zillions of them and have some really great favorites.

xrosenbaumforever
06-17-2005, 03:50 PM
Its mainly Luke. I find it harder to read Jess/Rory ones because he hasnt been on the show for like 2 years, and I dont know. I used to be able to. But now its just harder, I guess you could say. Harder seeing the picture. But Lukeeeey.. on the other hand. Mmmm sexy Diner Man xP

Later..

Ok, so I'm right now reading the prequel to the fic I sent earlier, and omg. Some of the quotes are pretty funny. LOL. It's definitely not as good as the other one, not even close, but :rotfl:

She ran her fingers along the edge of his sleeve, rolling it up to see his bicep. She gasped loudly and said, "Oh my God!" She quickly covered her mouth as she realized how loud she was, hoping she didn’t wake Rory. "Luke!" she whispered incredulously. "You have a tattoo!"

Luke glanced down at his arm and gasped. "I do? Oh my God!"

xrosenbaumforever
06-20-2005, 05:59 AM
Another one from the same fic, and yes. This one is very, very long. 64 parts I think.

"I'm fine with it," Luke replied. "Change your name, don't change your name, make up a completely new last name. . .doesn't matter to me."

Lorelai smiled. "Lorelai SexKitten it is, then."

xrosenbaumforever
06-20-2005, 05:03 PM
:rotfl: I think I remember that one. Faintly. But I do remember the Banana Hammock

OMG. LOL. This is from the fic.

And remember, Jess is with someone else, someone who happens to be named Jill. Of course, Lorelai has to make fun of their names, right?

Right.

Lorelai giggled. "Jess and Jill - "

"Not this again," Rory interrupted, rolling her eyes.

Lorelai laughed. "No, this one's gonna be good, I swear! Jess and Jill went up the hill to fetch some new CD's. Jess said 'Look!' and dropped his book, and Jill said, 'I like cheese.'"

Rory made a face. "That one doesn't even make sense."

Lorelai scoffed. "Excuse me? Which part doesn't make sense? They're both into music, hence the CD shopping. Jess has said the word 'look' before, so that part's plausible. They both work at the bookstore, so anything relating to books is fine. And we saw them two weeks ago eating pizza, so we know she likes cheese. There - makes perfect sense."

I really miss the new Gilmore Girls episodes. I can't wait for more new ones to come :) I love their incessant chatter. It's always entertaining.

God you said it. I'm stuck watching my season three dvd's over and over again.. mainly the premiere, those lazy hazy crazy days of summer -sigh-.

I get my Luke fix >:] Mmm god I love that dream. To bad it wasnt real. Sexy Luke was extra good lookin' in the early episodes..

My god I'm a freak, I can name all the ones he looks extra good in. LOL.

Someone, feed my addiction, the thoughts in my mind are useless again, and heeeeere I am making up random lyrics again. Damnit.

I WANT LUKE.. GAH!

-sigh- No one loves gg anymore.. I wish Milo was still on it though x_x He was the only reason I liked season three, and the only reason I bought the dvds.

"Or maybe we can name it Nicholas Matthew Joseph Benjamin Danes," Lorelai suggested. "We can call him Nimajoben for short."

I haven't read any spoilers yet but my friend and I have a theory. Luke and Lorelai will get married and Jess will come back for the wedding! How fun would that be!?

My only concern about Jess returning is that he'll mess things up for Rory and Logan. Rory would have to be an idiot to fall for Jess again, after the way he treated her.

But Yay cause Milo is hot!

<Adam Knight>

Rory and Jess a great together...and you and your friend are probably right he comes back for the wedding...I just cant wait to see him

Milo will also be in a show coming to the WB mid season next year called The Bedford Diaries!

That's a good question! The only thing I can think of is maybe his father's first name was William. I shall consult my GG obsessed friend and she what she thinks.

tiger17
08-30-2005, 11:46 AM
I thought about both those suggestions but it seems unlikely that that his father and he had different last names and it's rare that someone names a business (that they intend to pass on to their heirs) after their first name. If the sign said William's Hardware I would agree that it was his father's first name, but it just says Williams...no apostrophe anywhere. It's also possible that his father took over the store from his father-in-law (Luke's maternal grandfather) whose last name was Williams. Of course we don't know if that is even Luke's mom's maiden-name.

So... Luke/Lorelai relationship????? Luke/Lorelai banter even before their relationship?????

LexLuthorMetropolis
09-09-2005, 09:20 PM
I'm usually not much of a shipper, but those two are just so perfect for one another. Between the banter, the break-up then coming back together it just feels so right.

yellowqueen22
09-09-2005, 09:23 PM
I'm often a shipper... although not hard core scary as some can be. And I've always loved the Luke/Lorelai relationship. But they have built it to this from season one... we always knew they would be together... it was just how and when.

LexLuthorMetropolis
09-09-2005, 09:27 PM
I've caught the hints thanks to tuning in out, while I was preparing for Smallville and Angel. Just took me a while to really get into the show. Why now? I'm still not clear, but I'm enjoying every minute of it especially the witty dialogue.

yellowqueen22
09-09-2005, 09:29 PM
Yeah... pretty much any conversation with Lorelai in it is brilliant. I got to see them filming two weeks ago... lots of fun.

I saw Lorelai, Sooki & Jackson filming a scene in the inn.

LexLuthorMetropolis
09-09-2005, 09:44 PM
All I can say is lucky. Of course, you're connected to the business.

The nearest thing I've got to see is pics of filming Elizabethtown with Orlando Bloom and Kristen Dunst and traffic being put to a halt in my city due to the filming of The Insider.

yellowqueen22
09-09-2005, 09:53 PM
Yeah... I was on the set of GG & ER. Never watched ER in my life and not really interested. But it was amazing watching them film and rehearse... even if I don't care for the show. Also interesting to see the personlities... I won't say anything but I did get to witness a hissy fit during my day of visiting the various sets.

LexLuthorMetropolis
09-09-2005, 09:58 PM
Now, that's something I see constantly with the actors and crew. Makes me truly glad to just be a writer and just sit back and edit scripts as they need me or as I need be.

yellowqueen22
09-09-2005, 10:03 PM
Yeah... it actually made me uncomfortable to watch.

LexLuthorMetropolis
09-09-2005, 10:05 PM
At least you got to see Gilmore Girls in action.

I'm determined to drag myself down to Vancover for a few weeks just to catch some filming of various shows and if at all possible a couple movies, but I've got another solid semester ahead before I can do anything.

At least I was at Universal Studios Florida this summer. Got to truly "Ride the Movies."

yellowqueen22
09-09-2005, 10:23 PM
Oh that's so lame. If you want to do anything do the WB tour... they actually take you onto the sets and sometimes you get to see a celeb or two.

LexLuthorMetropolis
09-09-2005, 10:25 PM
I'll keep that in mind. I'm a long time Universal junkie. Of course, I need to get down to L.A. as well. Do both tours Universal and WB tour.

Right now confined.

yellowqueen22
09-09-2005, 10:31 PM
Don't do the Universal tour... it is the absolute worst one in town... really bad and not worth the money. It's pretty much just a little rollar coaster ride and you see nothing. And I was lucky when I went because the ride goes past a big field where they happened to be shooting a scene from the X-Files movie.... but that is rare.

I haven't been on all the tours... but the WB one is excellent... and from what I can tell the best one in town. The next best is the walking tour of Paramount... or so I'm told... but I haven't been on it. The Sony/MGM one is probably next. But everyone agrees that the Universal one is the worst. Although Universal City Walk is fun if you like Saddle Ranch (electric bull riding), karaoke bars, jazz clubs, dance clubs, etc.

LexLuthorMetropolis
09-09-2005, 10:36 PM
I'll keep those in mind. I've seen video of the Universal tour, but next time I'm there I'll do the Paramount and WB tour.

Reason for going to Universal Studios, the different takes on the rides. Been a fan of Universal since I was a kid, too.

yellowqueen22
09-09-2005, 10:38 PM
To each his own... the Universal tour is expensive for what it is. Think of it this way... both tours are less than 5min away from my apartment... but whenever I have guests I take them to WB and do that tour again.... rather than have to go on Universal again.

LexLuthorMetropolis
09-09-2005, 10:40 PM
Gotcha.

I'll take your recommendation whenever I get down there.

yellowqueen22
09-09-2005, 10:44 PM
Besides... the WB tour always features Gilmore Girls. I've been inside Luke's Dinner and looked at his order pad and menus. I've been inside Taylor's candy shop. Been inside Luke's apartment. Goofed around in Stars Hollow town square. Been in Lorelai's house and seen her jeep up close. (All the previously mentioned sets are fixed sets... aka real buildings or house on the WB lot) I've also been in the Grandparent's house (sound stage), Yale classrooms & dorms (sound stage), Dragonfly Inn (sound stage). They won't take you where they are filming (I had a connection) but you should be able to see a lot of GG stuff... which should make the trip worth it.

Also... right now in the museum they have a TV exibit which feature a manequin buffy wearing one of her leather jackets and holding a prop stake... and a manequin Spike wearing his famous leather duster.

LexLuthorMetropolis
09-09-2005, 10:46 PM
Defintely have me convinced.

May not get to see the filming, but oh well. I see enough of actors and directors going at it here.

Thank you, once again.

Well aware of the terms you mentioned, but it should be great for anyone else reading the thread. :)

yellowqueen22
09-09-2005, 10:48 PM
Sometimes I feel like a spokesperson for the WB tour... but definately if you are a Gilmore Girls, ER, Harry Potter, Spider Man, or Friends/Joey fan the tour is worth it especially for you... since they focus heavily on these TV shows & movies.

LexLuthorMetropolis
09-09-2005, 10:50 PM
I'll defintely give it a shot. Going to have just drive cross country and see L.A. for a bit then come back. I'd probably never leave L.A. knowing myself.

yellowqueen22
09-09-2005, 10:51 PM
I don't know... a lot of people really really hate it. I love it. And when things get to Hollywood on me... I just go to the local Starbucks in Burbank and listen in on all the wanna be talk... it's just so funny... I can't help it.

LexLuthorMetropolis
09-09-2005, 10:54 PM
I'm actually content to being an independent filmmaker. I wouldn't mind beind a novelist, but I get enjoyment out of just plain writing fan fiction and keeping certain stories alive and writing alternate takes.

yellowqueen22
09-10-2005, 10:56 AM
I think if anyone other than Luke & Lorelai get married I'd be annoyed... at this point the story of will they or won't they be together is tired... let them just be together... it was designed from the beginning of the show. I'm sure there can be all sorts of conflict & witty banter even if they are married. Also a wedding between the two of them would get a lot of ratings & a lot of tears from the audience.

LaineSV11

09-11-2005, 10:31 AM
a highly doubt that they'll have kirk and lulu get married but who knows, and i also don't think that logan and rory will get married,
