I just got it. It's just as amazing as in theaters. I, being the drama lover that i am, have never particularly cared for flashy fights. However, i love them in ROTS. The anakin/obi wan fight in particular is choreographed with such skill. Nick Gillard even got a character based on him in the game(Cin Drallig) because he was such an amazing fight choreographer. The dialogue won me over in this movie. "You were the chosen one!" Such a brilliantly executed line. I CRIED the first time i saw the scene. Every time i see it, it gives me shivers. That scene convinced me that this is the best movie of the whole lot. Lovin it. Voice your opinion!
P.S. Deleted scenes were ok. The one with grievous killing shaak ti is particularly funny cause anakin and obi-wan have amusing banter. It's while they're on the ship in the beginninng btw.
I got the movie earlier today, but haven't seen it as yet. I got the first 2 episodes too, so I'm going to see them first. How was the Yoda deleted scene, when he left for Dagobah (i think that's how you spell it)?
OMG! The 'Easter Egg' totally cracked me up! :rotfl:  Too freaking funny, although I wish they would've added a blooper reel in addition.
If you haven't seen the easter egg--you must check it out. From your main menu go to Options, then highlight the THX symbol (do not press it) But on you remote press 1-1 Enter 3-Enter 8 Enter
1-1-3-8, uh? Isn't that the number used in the original Star Wars for something? It was also the project number in "Thirst". Pretty cool idea.
Yeah THX 1138 was the name of George Lucas' first movie. There are several occurances of 1138 in the star wars movies, and that is the code to access the blooper easter eggs on the other discs.
 Yeah, I think the "Thirst" mention of it was a nice little inside joke to Carrie Fisher. :D

Got my dvd yesterday along /c a free comic book.
The deleted scenes are great. Loved the one /c Yoda landing on Dagobah. Although I wish they had put in the conversation /c Padme & Obi-wan.
I watched the trailers since I hadn't seen them in 3 years as I avoided spoilers and they were awesome! Then I watched up to #9 of the Web docs. those are so cool.
Maybe if I'll have time today, I'll watch more.
Can't wait to see the actual movie and then the Yoda break dance.
So far the DVD is done very well.

The scene with yoda is just him landing on dagobah. He doesn't even get out of the ship. Like a 30 second scene, but nice homage to the original trilogy. The music that plays is the same as when luke lands in ep 5.

i loved the movies and the dvd is great but i feel a lil disapointed in the special features area, i feel like the previous episodes have way more content on theirs
anyone else agrees?
I just saw ROTS dvd. Let me just say that I almost cried when Anakin put on the Darth Vader suit. Great movie overall. I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out.

My sisters are addicted to SW now. RoTS is the movie that peaked their interest more, and they seen all the originals because of it. I was babysitting them last Friday, and all of us were crying when the Jedi were murdered especially when the little youngling told Anakin "Master Anakin what are we going to do?" and Darth Vadar lights his saber :(.
The adore SW now even more. We are doing our own marathon on all the whole saga now.

I was surprised that they went there, but it gave a sense of what it means to be a Sith and how evil, unrelenting, and without mercy they actually are. That was a very important scene for the movie. It definately helped you feel the transition from baby faced Anakin into the ruthless Sith Lord.

I without doubt totally agree. From a viewers perspective we just saw the Sith from outside view, and now we saw it far more personal. To see what Anakin did was shocking, but the means necessary to be a Sith. To look "inward" in oneself. To see so many innocents killed, and people Anakin knew and trained with die :(. That little one knew Anakin which made it even more hard to watch. What also adds to the scene is the music by John Williams.
I'm in the middle of the video game now actually killing the Jedi Knights and Padwans, and my sister Suzie said "omg, Mel you are killng the younglings :( ". Then you hear this sinster Anakin laugh(which is a nice touch).
Before the movie came, I read about that scene on-line so I was prepared for it. I'm glad it didn't turn out the way I imagined it with them showing Anakin actually killing the younglings. I did feel very sorry for the kids and whole Jedi order who died, but it did feel good to see the orignial Darth Vader back in action. I was just surprised at how easily it was for the Jedi to be killed. I know they were surrounded by many clones with guns, but they didn't put up much of a fight either. Only Obi-wan and Yoda survived so I guess that means Obi-wan was one hell of a Jedi. I'm sure Mace Windu would have surrvied the attack as well if he didn't get screwed over by Anakin. The last hour of the movie was great, though. Finally seeing Darth Vader again was awesome.

The way the Jedis were killed is another famous debate because they were easily killed. Jedis can see a minute or so into the future to anticipate attacks. They shouldn't have been killed far as quickly. Lucas, yet again, tweaked his own foundation of the universe to his liking. This debate is used sometimes by many SW fans who did not like RoTS.
Obi-Wan is considered on of the best Jedi in the Order. For me personally, Obi-Wan is one of my favorite Jedis because of how he accomplishs the task at hand. He is nearly always calm and collected (except in the Duel in RoTS). My other favorite Jedis are:
-Yoda
-Qui-Gon
-Luke Skywalker
-Mara Jade
-Jaina Solo (my favorite from the books)
-Kyp Durron
-Jacen Solo
-Anakin Solo
I think that is it.

I really think they needed to play out the darkness of the Sith, without sounding distastful I think that middle bit with the carnage was the payoff really, and seing how a republic goes from democracy to a dictatorship mirrored past historical events which gave it an extra edge, and the acting was much better loved Obi Wan, now am blabbing, really enjoyed this film so much and the extras on the DVDS were good but I wanted to see more deleted stuff. What a great way to finish the series for now.;)
I've never read the books from the expanded universe so who is Mara Jade and Kyp Durron?

The political side of SW is what I love because it is mirrored off of WW2, and Palpatine itself is mirrored after Hitler. In fact sometimes Hitler's men were sometimes called "stormtroopers" by European citizens.
I wanted to see more stuff too. It's bummer they couldn't get Liam to present Qui-Gon Jinn because he was originally in the script :(.

If you love SW I would highly recommend the books as well to give you your fix.
Mara Jade was trained by Palpatine was sent to kill Luke. She went directly after him during Endor's celebration. Later on her hatred turned to love, and Mara became a Jedi because she had the power of the Force. They later married, and now have a son named Ben Skywalker(named after Obi-Wan :) ). Who is now perceived to be one of the strongest Jedis ever, and he is just a little baby.
Kyp Durron is another Jedi, and starfighter. After the events in RoTJ Luke made a New Jedi Order which did not have so many contraints. Kyp early on touched the Dark Side of the Force, and he has this darkness to him. Kyp is sometimes linked to Jaina Solo which many wish they would hook up since they have so much in common. I so wish they would.

Yes, and for longer period of time. You can hear his voice in AotC. When Anakin attack revenge on the Sand People you can hear Qui-Gon say "Anakin stop" while the camera is focused on Yoda during meditation who feels the distribence in the force.
Thanks for the info Summers. I may read a little more about that in the near future.

I really enjoyed the political side of the prequals as well, the way palpatine manipulates his way to the top, a sub plot that was overshadowed by the presence of Jar - Jar (and the force hee hee). But by watching Revenge of the Sith I think it does improve my enjoyment more of TPM. I always thought is was a WWII mirror as well but I was surprised people were comparing the ideals of the film in Line with BUSH. That line " If your not with me your my enemy".
And how hard is it for Liam to record some lines for ROTS I mean in the making of DVD for ATOC Frank Oz did it via satelite, how long would that have taken 1 - 2 hours sheeeh. But you know George, he will tamper down the line;)

It's great read. It is very gradual tale, in fact, it's not just a few books but several on the lives of Luke, Leia, and Han. There is a separate book trilogy that centers just on Han, and how he met Chewie and how he got his Falcon.
For me personally, I can't get enough of the Solo children.

Nice to see another fan loving the political side. Don't get me wrong I can see why some people would think it is boring, but I just find it interesting. Palpatine what a great malipulator, and he does it by using such a odd sense of the truth. TPM and RoTS just goes hand and hand. AoTC there was itty bitty politics, but Jar Jar was the one who let Palpatine get where he was......ah, the weak minded .
I saw that as well. I was surprised as well they were comparing to the recent current events . Even without the prequels it was known from countless interviews by Lucas (which werent' the contradicting ones lol) that the Empire was based on Nazi Germany. The expanded universe showed what the Sith were terrifically, and Lucas got many of his things from that to an extent before Bush was in office lol.
I know really. I don't know what happened there at all. Wait ten years from now then Qui-Gon will be in RoTS Special Edition :rotfl:.

It's in the beginning. After Anakin crashed landed ship on Corusant Ani, Obi-Wan, and Palpatine are in the shuttle landing at the Senate headquarters. Now right before the shuttle lands you see all of these ships coming and going. Look at the bottom right of your screen you will see the Falcon coming in for a landing at the same time the shuttle is landing. It was far bigger in the theatres, so for the tv you are going to have to look for the Falcon's back.
I know me too. I'm excited about those, and knowing Leia is now an Organa now I wouldn't be surprised we see some hit and misses with Vadar and Leia.

I don't remember the title. I am really bad with EU titles because there is so much of them.
Thrawn I loved, and any of the Zahn books period.

Yeah, there's like 19 books! that was a very long series!
Now i'm reading the Ultimate Visual Guide (wich i'm loving!) and in turn is the Creating the Worlds of Star Wars : 365 Days .. i love all of the "how it was done" bit, so i'm always interested in buying the sort of book that shows how things get done and tell behind the scenes bits aswell.
Since i loved ROTS so much, i also got myself some post-sith books (lol can u tell i LOVE reading! :D ), so i recently just finished The Last of the Jedi (books 1 and 2) and i love them!.. cant wait for the third one to come out..these focus more on Obi Wan (my fav character! ;) ) and what he's been up to :)

A four year series is a lonnnnggg series . Then there is the books before it. I really can't remember the titles. Just events.
I love those books. I truly get a kick out the behind the scenes making of anything. It's addicting to read lol.

I'm still digging for stuff that revolves around post-RotS but the only thing they've really released is THE LAST JEDI.

The only bad thing about the dvd is on the cover art Anakin doesn't have the scar above his right eye.

I just saw this movie last night on HBO and it was fantastic. The best out of the 3 new ones.

I agree. Out of the three prequels I enjoyed RoTS the most because of the links they added to the other movies despite the movies continuity flaws. RoTS and PoTM are my two I enjoy watching out of the prequels even if I'm more of OT fan.

When I first saw the dvd to this movie I thought I would go blind. The movie was so crisp and brilliantly colored. I basically drooled when I saw the movie on my tv. Great movie. The best of the whole six. And that's hard to because Empires Strikes Back was an awesome movie.
