AN: Um....I'm like new here *shyly* and I really suck at writing. So, I-um I'm just wondering how this story is. There will be more chapters (duh) but tell me what u think of it so far....again. Please be nice, I'm new here and have no clue what I'm doing

Summary: A mysteries cause is slowly killing Clark, but what happens when they find out it’s something deadly, and he can’t live without it? Also, how will this effect Lana, will she find out that she has more then just friendship love for the dying teen?

Chapter one: Second chances

It was a beautiful day down in Smallville, the sun shining bright as farm life around the Kent’s went living on, cows mooing, rosters crowing, and the smell of hay and coffee flew into their senses. Clark pulled his blankets higher to his head, covering his ears with his pillow from the loud radio blasting in his room.

“Clark Jerome Kent wake up this instant, you have less then five minutes to get ready!” Martha Kent called from the stairs as Clark mumbled something, rolling onto his stomach and forcing the pillow onto his head harder so he couldn’t hear the loud music or his mother yelling at him to wake up. His mind went black again; his eyes drifting shut as his body fell asleep, light snoring approaching the young man. Unexpectedly, he felt his warm cozy blankets being ripped off him and he looked up drowsily to see his father smiling down at him

“Get up Clark” He told him, leaving the room while throwing the blankets on the floor. Clark moaned, getting up from his bed only wearing a pair of blue boxers so you could see his tight torso and washboard abs. He sighed, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes and stumbling over to his dresser, falling onto his knees

“Okay...school. I can do this. Clothes, what to wear” Clark mumbled, opening up his dresser full of clothes to see a bunch of different color jeans in them. He sighed, grabbing a pair and slipping them on as he started to walk backwards, falling onto the fall when his legs got twisted up in the blankets. He sighed, getting up and grabbing the sheets off of his legs and pulling the pants up all the way, buttoning them

“He did that on purpose” Clark whispered, walking over to his closet and picking out a blue flannel shirt. He smiled suddenly though; knowing the day was going to get better as it went on

~*~*~*~*~*~

“Morning Clark” Martha greeted her son, watching him run down the stairs and put a piece of toast in the toaster. Jonathan folded up the paper he was reading, looking at his son curiosity before raising one of his bushy eyebrows and shaking his head back and froth

“Who are you and what have you done with my son?” Jonathan teased as Clark rolled his eyes, watching the bread pop up from the toaster and he grabbed it in the air, smearing peanut butter on it soothingly

“What? I’m not allowed to be happy for once?” Clark asked, taking a bite of the toast and laughing as Jonathan cleared his throat, going back to reading the paper so it was now blocking his face from his son’s analysis

“Well, your never joyful in the morning Clark so something has to be up” Jonathan told him, still reading the paper as Clark walked up to him, pushing it down so he was now in his face and said

“I’m asking Lana to have dinner with me tonight” Martha chuckled at her husband’s expression and went back to doing the dishes as Jonathan put the news paper aside and his arms on the table sighing

“Didn’t you two break up Clark?” Jonathan inquired as Clark nodded his head, taking another nibble of his bread and opening the fridge, sticking his head in it

“Friends aren’t allowed to have a small dinner with each other?” Clark asked, sighing, as he saw nothing to drink. He went over to the cabinet and took out a glass cup, filling it up with the water in the sink

“No Clark, you can be happy all you want. I hope she says yes, where do you plan on having it?” Martha asked, watching the waterfall gracefully into the cup. Clark took a sip of it before looking back at his father who was looking at him questioning also

“See dad, mom cares about me” Clark told him, hugging his mother close as Martha laughed and Jonathan rolled his eyes when Clark got a huge smile on his face. He let go of his mother, taking the last bite of his toast and replied

“I just plan on letting her take the day off from the Talon and getting a small dinner there” Clark then took a gulp from his glass, watching the water fall into his mouth and down his throat. He let a breath out as he finished, setting the glass down on the contour and grabbing his backpack from the chair next to him

“I better get going” He said, swinging the backpack over his shoulder when Jonathan looked at him confused before looking back at his wife

“That water has tasted really disgusting since last night” Jonathan informed them as Clark shrugged, walking over to the door and putting his hands up

“I didn’t taste anything different about it. See you guys!” Clark told them, walking out of the house as Martha sighed, looking back at her husbanded and then shaking her head, turning her attention back to doing the dishes in the sink

~*~*~*~*~*~*

Lana closed her locker door, pulling her backpack up her shoulder more as she walked down the crowed halls of Smallville High. She sighed, walking over to the water fountain and she started to take a drink when she felt a warm hand on her shoulder. She turned around and smiled when she saw Clark giving her his unbeatable ‘Kent Charm’

“Hey Clark!” Lana chirped, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand as the two begun to walk down the busy halls

“Have you tasted that water lately? It’s been tasting different” Lana informed him as he shrugged, putting his hands in his pockets “No, but my dad said the same thing” He told her, chuckling some as she smiled

“Hey Lana.... Are you busy tonight?” Clark asked, feeling his stomach rumble and he felt like a thousand butterflies where flying inside him. He held his breath, just begging her mental to say ‘no’ and get this over with

“Um, no. Lex gave me the day off at the Talon. So I‘m completely free” Lana told him as Clark screamed in his head, a smile coming upon his lips

‘Thank you so much Lex!’ Clark thought, taking his hands out of his pockets as they both stopped in the middle of the halls

“Well, I was wondering if you would maybe like to have dinner with me” Clark asked, his hand behind his back while he bawled it up in a fist, feeling like we was waiting for hours for her to reply

“I’d love to Clark” Lana said as Clark smiled when she walked away. He felt like jumping up right then, but fought not to. His smile got bigger as he heard the bell ring, but he stayed in his stop, feeling like he was in heaven

“You skipping man?” Pete asked from behind as Clark was snapped out of his thoughts and looked behind him as Pete laughed, patting him on the back and they both begun to walk over to their first class of the day

“What has you so happy, and how can I find it ‘cause I’m so stressed about the stupid test I have in history. Mrs. Hanger’s quizzes are killer’s man” Pete told him as Clark chuckled, both men walking into the classroom and sitting down next each other

“Well, what has you so cheerful?” Pete asked as Clark shook his head, laughing slightly as he looked over at his friend while taking out his books

“I just got dinner with Lana tonight, that’s all” Clark said as Pete laughed, getting up from his seat and starting his what Clark liked to call ‘happy dance’

“Do a little dance, make a little love, get down tonight! Get-” Pete song as he was interrupted by the teacher walking up to him. The whole class laughed as Pete slowly sunk down in his chair embarrassed, and Clark couldn’t help but join in. His day was only going to get better by the second....

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Lana sighed dreamily as she continued to write down notes in her notebook. Only she couldn’t keep her concentration on what the teacher was saying, but her mind was wondering around of what she was going to do tonight. Was Clark going to try and kiss her was she going to accept if he did? She giggled slightly, her stomach filled with excitement

“Mrs. Lang, please answer the question” The teacher said as Lana was brought back from her thoughts and looked up at the teacher to see all eyes on her. She slumped down in her chair somewhat embarrassed “Um, could you please repeat it?” She asked as the class laughed

“Mrs. Lang, please pay attention” She said as Chloe leaned over to her whispering “So, what has you on cold nine?” Lana swallowed back her nervousness and replied

“I’m just having a small dinner with Clark tonight, that’s all” She whispered back as their conversation was broke by the teacher clearing her throat and looking over at them annoyed and frustrated

“So, let me guess. It’s a non-date friend-date dinner-date?” Chloe whispered as Lana rolled her eyes and whispered back “We’re just having dinner tonight at the Talon, as friends” Chloe nodded her head, rolling her eyes and turning to the teacher again “Right...” She told her as Lana turned her attention back to the teacher before whispering

“And maybe more...”

"Well, in Lois and Clark, Clark's middle name was Jerome; I always use Jerome in my stories . . . "

I suppose it's a matter of preference. Personally, I'd go with DC but, hey, my middle name is Jerome so I've nothing against it. :)

AN: Wow, glad to see everyone is likeing this fic. And the thing with Clark's middle name, lol. When I was posting this on another website, they also gave me a whole lotta crap about using "Jemery" because that's what I always thought it was. Anyway, here's the second chapter. I hope you enjoy it

Chapter two: Something strange

Nausea filled Clark’s stomach as he stumbled out of Smallville High, leaning against the post of the door, watching all the students run into their cars or sit on the curb waiting for someone to pick them up from the school. Clark swallowed back the bile in his throat, as he stumbled away from the entrance, walking over to his truck when he suddenly felt a soft hand on his shoulder

“Hey Clark...you don’t look so good. Are you okay?” Lana asked from behind as Clark put a fake smile on, turning around to see her gorgeous face. Gulping back the vomit raising in his stomach, Clark slowly nodded his head, stuffing his hands in his pockets

“Yeah, it must of been something I ate, I’m fine really” He told her, walking over to his truck when she pulled his arm stopping him from doing so. Clark turned around again to face her worried expression

“We’re still on for tonight aren’t we?” Lana inquired as Clark smiled, chuckling slightly and nodding his head as Lana smiled back

“Of course Lana, it’ll past. I’ll be fine before you know it. Pick you up at seven?” He asked as her grin got bigger and she nodded her head, giving him a kiss on the check as she walked away heading to her red van. Clark touched his left check, still in daze as he smiled ridiculously, wondering how the night was going to go...

“That is if I don’t throw up on her” Clark mumbled, covering his mouth again and he looked around his surroundings, his face had worriness written all over it

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Clark walked through the screen door of his house, throwing his backpack on the floor and heading to the kitchen to see his parents sitting down at the table doing taxes. Clark smiled wearily, putting his jacket over a chair a sitting down in it. Jonathan looked at his son confused before looking back over at Martha, who was also staring at him

“How was school son?” Jonathan asked slowly, putting his papers down while Clark sighed, putting his head in his hands and mumbling something that they couldn’t understand. Martha took anther gaze at her son before back at her husband

“I got sick” He told them, bringing his head up as Jonathan and Martha exchanged glances, concern filling their faces as they looked back over at the teenager. Clark got up from his seat; walking over to the sink and leaning his back against it, letting his legs bend slightly so he was slumping down

“What do you mean Clark?” Martha asked as Clark sighed, rubbing his eyes and straighten his back, looking at his parents

“I don’t know...at the end of school today I felt like I was about to throw up, but then five minutes later it was like nothing happened.” Clark informed them as Jonathan got up, patting his son on the back as Martha took a cup out of the cabinet and filling it up with water

“Are you okay now?” Jonathan questioned his son was he nodded his head, taking the water away from his mother and taking a sip of it before looking back over at them both

“It was strange...almost like when I was sick before...only stronger” Clark told them, putting the glass aside when it was empty and took his jacket of the chair as Jonathan grabbed his shoulder, turning him around as Clark looked at him in the eye

“Maybe it’s the fact that you have a date with Lana tonight” Jonathan teased as Clark sighed irritated, pointing his finger at his father and saying

“I’m not even going to tell you” Jonathan laughed, remembering the last time he had done this. Clark wouldn’t let anyone say the word ‘date’ it was just a couple of friends going out to see a concert. Sighing, Jonathan smiled watching his son leave the kitchen and walk up the stairs as Martha followed

“So she said yes?” Martha asked as Clark turned around, half way up the stairs and smiling. Martha chuckled as Jonathan went over to his wife, putting his arm around her shoulder

“I’m glad to hear that son” Jonathan said as Clark walked up the stairs, entering his room and falling down on the bed. Nothing could ruin his day...or date

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

The Talon was filled with tons of people, laughter and discussion filled the coffee shop as Clark and Lana sat down at one of the tables, both friends holding a coffee cup in their hands as Lana laughed, looking around her and taking a drink of her coffee

“It feels good to get service instead of taking it” Lana told him, chuckling as Clark smiled, taking a sip of his coffee and replying

“I’m sure it does. I would be glad not to work here tonight anyway, it’s packed” Lana laughed, brushing some of her hair away from her eyes as she looked over at Clark, her stomach feeling like it was doing flip-flops

“You look a lot better...” Lana said, putting her coffee down and wrapping her hands around it as Clark grinned, taking a drink out of the cup as he nodded his head, looking her in the eye

“I told you I would be; it must have been something I ate. You know school cafeteria food, it isn’t actually all eatable” Clark answered, listening to her laugh fill his ears, sounding like bells on a spring day. He smiled when suddenly the doors behind them opened up and a couple walked in, causing Clark to sigh and roll his eyes

“Clark...Lana! What a surprise!” Pete exclaimed, fake enthusiastic filling his voice as Clark took another sip of his coffee, his eyes showing Pete he was annoyed

“Hey Pete, Hi Erica” Lana said, watching Pete hold his date close and walk away from them as Lana looked at Clark, both laughing

“He so did that on purpose didn’t he?” Lana asked through her laughs as Clark nodded his head, rolling his eyes as Lana felt her laughter die down some

“So, how’s Chloe? I haven’t really talked to her lately” Clark told her as Lana sighed, putting her arms on the table and looking at the farm boy in the eye

“She’s been doing well, although I haven’t really talked to her either. She’s been busy with the Daily Planet and the Torch that I hardly see her anymore” Lana told him, watching Clark nod his head, and right when he was about to pick his coffee up, he held his head tight

“Clark, is everything okay?” Lana asked worried as Clark grimed, forcing a smile on his face and nodding his head. He couldn’t ignore the fact though that his head was pounding, and he suddenly couldn’t stand the smell around him

“Yeah, I’m fine. Just a headache.” Clark told her, letting go of his head and let his mouth form a fake smile. The rest of the night though, he couldn’t keep his concentration on Lana, only on trying not to vomit or what was going on with him...

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Clark stormed into his house, throwing his brown jacket on the floor and falling down on the couch moaning miserably. Jonathan and Martha suddenly approached him, his father sitting down next to him on the couch

“How was the date, son?” Jonathan asked as Clark slumped down in the chair, mumbling, as Martha looked at her husband confused and worried

“I got sick again, right in front of her. I was able to make it through the night, and by the time I dropped her off I was better again” Clark said as Martha looked over at Jonathan worried, then left the living room and into the kitchen. Jonathan patted Clark on the shoulder as Clark sighed sadly

“Dad, what’s wrong with me?” Clark inquired as Jonathan shrugged, listening to the water in the sink turn on and fill a glass up. A second later Martha came walking out with a glass in her hand, giving it to Clark

“I don't know Clark. Maybe it's part of your devolvement, you can't be healthy all the time” Jonathan told his son as Clark sighed, taking a sip of his drink and gulping it down. Feeling the cold water rush down his throat, Clark felt a chill run down his spin. Giving the glass back to his mother, Clark walked up the stairs to his room, entering it and letting his legs give up by the time he was at his bed. Thoughts wondered through his mind all night, keeping him awake from precious sleep...

What was wrong with him?

AN: LOL! Yeah, Lana eat her necklace...that would make a good guess but this takes place after Exiction...Lol, still funny though!

Anyway, here's the next chapter :D

Chapter three: And so it begins...

Quietness ran all over Smallville as half of the town where asleep in their beds, close to their husbands and wife's, or hugging their teddy-bears and dolls close to their face. The only light taking place at the Kent farm was the small dim illumination on the top of the barn, where the younger Kent sat in his loft reading a book

Clark took a deep breath, switching positions on the old red couch and kept his mind on reading the interesting book that lied down in his hands. The day had been long for the younger Kent, considering he had been up the previous night, not getting a blink of sleep and ended up humiliating himself during school by letting his mind shut off and fall into slumber. Suddenly though, snapping Clark out of his thoughts, he looked to his left to see a blond hair reporter walk up the stairs and smile at him

“Let me guess, ‘Dates for Dummy’s’?” Chloe teased, feeling Clark slap her on the shoulder with the book and began to walk down the stairs away from her. Rolling her eyes, Chloe caught up to Clark, also walking back down the stairs and looked at him worried

“That wasn’t even close to funny Chloe!” Clark told her, his voice ragging with anger as Chloe sighed, both friends reaching the end of the stairs and Chloe suddenly pulled his arm stopping him

“Listen, I didn’t come her to upset you. Lana told me you where sick half of your date last night, and I just came by to see how you where doing. I couldn’t really talk to you during lunch since.... Um.... You where in la-la land” Chloe let a laugh fly out of her mouth when she finished her sentence and Clark looked at her annoyed

“I was up all night, Mrs. Irritation!” Clark exclaimed, walking away from her and out of the loft into the dark. Chloe sighed, running up to him and rolling her eyes as she stuffed her hands in her pockets

“Clark, come on. Everyone has a bad date once and a while...most people don’t have to hold back the vomit in their mouth but-” Chloe told him, letting a smirk come upon her face as Clark growled, turning around and showing his eyes full of anger

“Chloe, I had one chance to prove to Lana that I wasn’t a jerk, and I spent that time feeling like I was in hell. You think I’m okay?” Clark answered; walking away as Chloe shrugged

“Well, I can see your better so I’ll leave you only to sit in your pity of Lana-lusting” Chloe then walked away from Clark, leaving him to roll his eyes at her statement. Clark had gotten fed up with Chloe hating the fact that he loved Lana, and just decided to ignore her rude comments on it. Walking into the night, Clark felt a hand on his shoulder and he turned around to see Pete behind him

“Hey man!” Pete exclaimed, both friends walking away from the loft and to the house. Clark smiled wearily, sighing and looking down at the ground below him. Pete smiled, showing his sympathy and patted him on the back

“Your mom told me about the date. Real bummer, you okay?” Pete asked, watching Clark put on a smile he hadn’t seen in months and nodded his head walking to the porch when they suddenly stopped

“You know Pete, I’m glad I can come to you with my-” Unexpectedly though, right in the middle of Clark’s sentence, he bent down in pain grabbing his stomach and whimpering slightly causing Pete to go into panic-mode

“Clark, man, you okay? What’s wrong?” Pete felt his hand go onto Clark’s shoulder when it was ripped of by him turning around and falling onto his knees. Pete looked at him confused before his eyes widen at the sound of vomiting. Slowly, Pete bent down behind him, placing his hand back on his shoulder and looked down to see him throwing up, his face full of pain and panic

Two minutes passed as the queasiness stopped, and Clark took the back of his hand wiping his mouth slowly. Looking over his shoulder he faced his friend, who just happened to have the same expression he did. Sitting down cross-legged, Clark sat where he was patting, shocked and stunned by what had just happened

Something wasn’t right....

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Lex stormed down the halls of the empty building, white and yellow papers lied in his hands as his face was full of anger. Slamming the door open into his fathers study, Lex looked up to see him on the balcony, also looking at down at him

“What the hell do you think you’re doing dad?” Lex yelled, watching his father walk down the stairs casually, acting like he didn’t have a clue what his son was talking about. Taking the papers away from Lex, he looked over them cautiously with a grin on his face

“Making business son” Lionel told him, handing the papers back over to him, and walking over to the desk in the corner sitting down in the chair. Annoyed, Lex stormed up to his father and threw the files in his hands down on the desk, watching them scatter across the smooth brown wood

“You took away a good company for no reason!” Lex exclaimed, watching his father pour himself a drink and gulp it down his throat, feeling the liquid run down, warming his body

“It’s for the best Lex” Lionel answered, looking at his son’s shocked face and got up from the seat he was sitting in, walking over to the door as Lex stopped him by saying

“I hate it when you do that dad. You took away a fine corporation, and then replaced them for no reason!” Lionel shook his head sadly, grabbing the handle to the doorknob and turning it. Before walking out though, four words entered the room and he walked out leaving Lex stunned

“It’s for the best....”

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Clark and Pete sat down at the kitchen table, along with the two worried parents only wearing their pajamas and looking like a mess. Martha sighed, combing her knotted hair with her fingers as Clark looked at both of them, his face troubled and scared

“Clark, have you eaten anything different lately?” Jonathan asked, watching Clark shake his head as Martha sighed, getting up from the seat and walking over to the sink, filling a glass up with water

“I don’t get it dad, why am I getting sick all of the sudden?” Clark inquired, watching his father shrug and Clark looked over his shoulder to see his mother hand him a glass of water, telling him to drink it as he did so

“What does it feel like man? Like, what are the symptoms?” Pete wondered, watching Clark sigh and bow his head from the view

“I don’t know. It’s like when I’m around Kryptonite, only stronger and it makes me sicker.” Clark told them, watching his parents sigh and moan sadly as Clark let a deep breath fly out of his cheeks, looking around himself and out of the window to see stars across the sky.

“Well.... Right now Clark...just stay home from school tomorrow okay? Maybe it’ll pass.” Jonathan suggested, seeing his son let his head fall into his arms and groan. Pete patted him on the back, knowing he was going through a lot

And it wasn’t exactly easy when Chloe and Lana find him taking a day off of school....

AN: lol, yeah, you know it's the water just not what's in the water....uh...anyway. I'll stop blabbling my mouth and hand the next chapter over. Sorry if it's kinda short-handed

Chapter four: Not so pleasant visit

Clark stumbled down the stairs of his house, wearing a plaid blue t-shirt and a pair of jeans when Martha smiled at him, flipping the pancake on the stove. Smiling back, Clark let his body fall into the chair at the table and took the glass of water already in Martha’s hands

“Good morning Clark” Martha greeted him, flipping the pancake again and putting it on the plate next to her. Gulping the water down fast, Clark let a long breath out as he finished drinking and put the glass down, looking at the reflect of the sun in it

“Are you feeling any better?” Martha asked him, bringing the plate that she was holding over to the table and placing it down in the middle as she looked over at her son who was nodding his head at her question

“Yeah, I must have slept it off” Clark told her, getting up from his seat and following her over to the contour. Martha ignored the fact he was there, and poured more pancake mix onto the pan when she looked over at Clark, seeing his eyes wide and his lip tucked in

“Your not going to school Clark” Martha informed him simply, listening to his moan fill the room and he placed his head on the contour. Closing his eyes, Clark brought his head up and looked at his mother for a second before looking back at the table avoiding eye contact

“Can I at least go for a drive?” He asked, waiting for an answer as she didn’t reply “Come on mom, just to get some fresh air. I’ll be back in like an hour. Please?” Clark begged as Martha rolled her eyes, mumbling and nodding her head. Clark smiled, and grabbed the keys to the left of him and walked out of the house into the red truck...

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Lex smirked and walked down the halls of his mansion, reaching the double doors and opened them up with both hands, taking a huge breath of the fresh air around him. Closing the doors behind him, Lex walked into the parking lot where his car was parked, but suddenly stopped in his tracks once he saw the red truck pulling up

‘What the hell is Mr. Kent doing here?’ Lex thought, feeling his stomach jump up into knots when he let a breath of relief come out of his mouth when he saw his friend walk out of the truck. Stuffing his hands in his pockets, Clark hunched and walked up to Lex smiling

“Clark? Should you be in school?” Lex asked, both men walking into the mansion as Clark nodded his head, taking one of his hands out and wiping his face tried

“Yeah, I um wasn’t feeling well last night so my parents wanted to keep me home. I decided to take a drive and some how ended up here” Clark answered, looking over his shoulder to see Lex smile. They started to walk down the halls of the large mansion when all of a sudden Lex stopped; looking behind him and smiling embarrassed

“I needed to get some paper work from my car. I’ll meet you in the pool room Clark” Walking away from the teen, Clark nodded his head and took a left turn before looking up the flight of stairs leading to the room he was suppose to go into.

Clark sighed and headed up the stairs, but about half way up, a wave of dizziness peaked though and he suddenly felt nausea fill his stomach. He tried to continue up the stairs, but he was so disoriented at the moment, he didn’t even know which way was up anymore. The room began to spin, and he felt himself falling. Clark tried to catch himself; his fingers reached just inches from the railing, but it was too late. He plummeted down the stairs, landing in a heap on the floor.

“Jesus, Clark!” Lex yelled, running up to the teen that let a groan out his mouth. Lex looked at the teen worried before shaking his shoulder when he wouldn’t answer

“Clark, talk to me! I need you to talk to me to tell me your all right” Lex told him, as rapidly his eyes snapped open. He tried to push his body up, but Lex stopped him by pushing him back down, and Clark moaned, feeling like he was paralyzed

“I-I’m fine, I just tripped” Clark mumbled, his head feeling like it was being ripped apart by the second. Lex shook his head, placing his hands behind Clark’s back and lifting him up carefully when all of the sudden, pain took over Clark like he was around Kryptonite and everything went black...

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Clark opened his eyes to see himself lying down on a dark red couch, his eyes looking straight up at the ceiling. Moaning a little, Clark pushed his body up when he heard fast footsteps approach him, and he looked to his left to see Lex running up to him

“Thank god, Clark what happened?” Lex asked, knelling down to his friend who rubbed his eyes for a second before taking a look around him. The room was dark, and even through the dim lights he could tell it was some what around ten o’clock at night

“I-I just tripped that’s all” Clark told him, sitting up and taking a minute to realize he was feeling better. Shaking his head a little, Clark looked over at his worried friend and gulped slightly, knowing he wasn’t going to be able to lie about this one

“Clark, you didn’t trip, you fell. I’m guessing you had a dizzy spill” Lex answered, getting up from his spot, as Clark looked at him worried for a second before looking around himself again. Clark tried to figure out what was going on, but his mind felt so hazy and dark he didn’t even want to know what had happened, he just wanted to go home

“I tired calling your parents, but no one answered the phone. I finally got through to them twenty minutes ago...your father’s on the way” Lex told him, watching Clark get up from his spot and walk up to him, looking at him strangely

“How long have I been out?” He asked as Lex quickly replied “The whole day. Clark, what happened?”

Clark stared at his friend for a second before Jonathan walking into the room and sighing in relief interrupted their conversation

“Mr. Kent, don’t worry I’ll have one of my servants drive your truck home” Lex immediately answered, dropping the situation once he had saw the older Kent walk into the room. Jonathan nodded his head, as Clark looked at Lex confused

“Lex, it’s okay I can drive-” Clark tried to say as Lex looked at him shocked for a second before shaking his head and began to walk out of the room

“Clark, you passed out on a flight of stairs, no way am I letting you drive home” Lex told him, not wanting to get into an argument with the boy. Sighing, Clark gave in and walked out of the room with his father by his side

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Clark slumped down in his seat once he heard the sigh from his father, and he leaned over to switch the radio off when the silence left when Jonathan spoke

“Clark, I don’t want you out of the house until we get this thing figured out okay?” Jonathan told him, looking over his shoulder to see Clark close his eyes tight and moan sadly, mumbling and looking back over at him

“Dad, come on-” Clark tried to argue, but watching his dad put his hand up in defense caught him, and he sighed slumping down more in his seat

“No Clark, I’m not taking the chances of you passing out again, and having someone take you to the hospital. Your staying home until we find out what’s making you sick” Jonathan strictly told Clark, as Clark brought his body back up and rubbed his eyes

“Okay, can I at least go to the Talon tomorrow morning? I promised Lana I would talk her. Please dad, just this once. Then I’ll be glued to the couch until I’m better, promise” Clark begged him, waiting for a answer to escape the mans mouth

Sighing, Jonathan shrugged and gave in when Clark smiled brightly. Turing his counteraction back to the road, stillness entered the truck as Clark gulped for a second before looking over at his father, who’s face was filled with concerned

He had every right to be worried to....

AN: You may not what is in the water, but not why is is *attepmts at lame hinting*

Oh you just want to see what happens, here you go ;)

Chapter five: Begging for the answers

The three bells above the door chimed gracefully as Clark walked into the Talon, taking a deep breath of the coffee shop air around him and sighing dreamily as he saw Lana wiping the tables around him with a cloth, obviously not knowing he was there

Chuckling slipped out of Clark’s mouth as he smiled broadly, wondering if he should sneak up on her or not. Shaking the thought off after he remembered all the attacks she had gone through, Clark started to walk further into the room when he took notice that Lana was apparently daydreaming, and not paying attention to what was happening around her

“I always did love the smell of coffee in the morning” Clark said, feeling like his voice was echoing throughout the room when it stopped as Lana gasped, abruptly spinning around to face the farm boy. Covering her mouth with her hand and laughing, Lana shook her head while she slapped him on the shoulder, watching Clark’s head bow with a Kent charm smile

“Don’t ever do that Clark! You scared me to death” Lana whined, turning around and going back to cleaning the tables as Clark chuckled, taking her hand to stop her from doing so

Silence overcame the two, looking down at the clasp hands and then ups at each other. Both Clark and Lana stared at each other for a second, looking strongly into the others eyes as suddenly Clark blinked, pulling his hand away quickly, as Lana’s cheeks blushed brightly

“Um-you didn’t come to school yesterday I heard you where sick. How are you feeling?” Lana asked, visibly trying to ignore the situation that had just happened. Clark cleared his throat, seeing what Lana was doing and without thinking, he played along

“Yeah, I-I’m fine. It was just a twenty-four hour flu that’s all. I’m guessing you guys have a day off, since it is only Thursday” Clark assumed, watching Lana laugh slightly and nodding her head, turning her concentration back on wiping the tables

“For some reason, Mike decided to set off a stink bomb in chemistry that just charmingly went through the whole entire school. They should have it all cleared out by Monday, lucky for you I’m guessing. We all know how much Clark hates missing one day of his sweet education” Lana teased, watching Clark roll his eyes at her statement

Stillness entered the room; the only noise made was either Lana’s cloth wiping the tables, or Clark’s breathing that was slowly turning heaver by the moment. Lana noticed this and stopped what he was doing, looking over at him worried and confused, but decided not to bring it up knowing how Clark was

“So, um, I thought you would be resting. I mean-since your never sick and all I kind of thought it was serious” Lana told him, watching him shake his head. She took the chance of peace to notice his face was turning paler by the minute, and he was trying to stay standing

“You okay Clark? You don’t look so well” Lana informed him, putting her hand on his arm. Clark felt his knees start to buckle as he did the best he could to stand up on his two feet, but he knew he was going to fall at any moment

“Clark, sit down, I’ll go get my keys and drive you home” Trying to understand the words that came out of her mouth, Clark nodded his head. Before he could even sit down though, he felt a bile raise up in his throat and forcibly come up to his mouth

Immediately, Lana knew what was going on and grabbed his arm rushing him over to the sink where he let the vomit fall out of his mouth. Lana watched him throw up, looking down at his breakfast and other food go down into the sink as he suddenly stopped, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. Looking over at the girl next to him, he could see a smile forming on her lips, showing him sympathy as he tried his best to smile back

“I’ll drive you home” She whispered as Clark shook his head, leaning his arm on the sink for support when he let his head shake again

“No Lana, it’s okay I’ll drive myself” Clark was able to say, not knowing if it came out as a mumble or not. Either way he was able to rush out of the Talon and into his truck, all while trying to think of an answer to his sickness

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Clark sighed as he held his hand to his mouth, holding back the bile and turning his attention back over to the road. He didn’t understand at all why he was getting this sudden sickness, but all he wanted was to go home, snuggle up in his bed and fall asleep. He felt so sick at the moment, but he knew one thing was for sure. He wanted his parents

Tears welled up in his eyes as he felt another pain stab in his stomach, and he swallowed back the lump plus vomit in his throat. Never in his whole life did he remember wanting his parents this badly, but at the moment he just wanted to hold them close, cry into their shoulders and let the pain out.

Letting a small smile on his lips, Clark thought what would happen if he had someone else’s parents, they would just yell at him and say ‘Be a man son!’ But Clark knew his parents cared more then that, and since he was never sick it was much harder for him. The pain in his body was so horrible he just wanted to curl up in a ball that very moment though

Almost like getting his wish, Clark’s vision blurred and he couldn’t see the road in front of him. Letting go of the wheel, Clark grabbed his head in pain and moaned loudly when he all of the sudden felt the throbbing leave, and at the same moment the truck crashed into a tree, pushing him forward then sending him against his seat again

Looking around shocked and confused, Clark felt his body feeling like he always did. Shaking his head puzzled, Clark threw the door of the car, watching it slid down a hill and into a lake. Suddenly though, Clark felt almost like water fall onto his pants and he looked down to see where his legs where, and groaned as he saw black oil was pouring out of the truck onto them

“Oh great...dad’s going to have a party about this one” Clark mumbled, getting out of the car and putting his hands on his hips. There stood in front of him, a smashed up truck from the front to back, and smock was all over the place as wires hung out of the Ford

He really didn’t know how to lie about this....

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Jonathan and Martha sat down at the table; one had a newspaper in his hand while the other was drinking a cup of coffee. Martha looked over at the clock behind her, seeing the time was eight on the dot. Rolling her eyes at her son’s lateness, Martha was about to sigh when both parents felt a strong wind pass by them and a second later Clark stood at the sink

“Clark? I thought you took the truck” Jonathan assumed, getting up from his seat worried as Clark looked over at them, his shirt was ripped a tad and his pants had oil all over them. Martha looked at her son scared and also got up, looking over to see her husband put a hand on Clark’s shoulder

“I was at the Talon when I started to feel sick again. It got worst and I threw up. I decided, the dumb-o I am, to drive home when I crashed into a tree” Clark said, sarcasm filling his voice as Martha’s eyes widen and she put a hand over her mouth

“Are you okay? Did you get hurt?” Jonathan asked quickly, feeling his father instincts kick in as he searched his son for any injuries. Even if Clark was...Clark, Jonathan was still his father and if he was hurt, even a scratch, Jonathan would go into what Martha liked to call ‘Father panic mode’

“I’m fine dad, I immediately got better a mid second before the truck crashed...the truck didn’t survive though” Even through the situation, both parents let a laugh out as they heard the tone of his voice. That was just like, it could be a death or life situation and he could bring the mood up with a joke

Seriousness took over the room again, as Jonathan looked at his son worried, patting him on the back. Clark saw the concern in his father’s eyes, and guilt filled his stomach knowing he was worrying his parents deeply

‘Well, at least something is entering my stomach. I think I barfed everything up at the talon’ Clark thought, shaking it off though as his father spoke

“Son, I-just stay home until we get this thing figured out okay?” Jonathan told him, letting a sigh come out of his lips as he bowed his head. Clark nodded, leaving the kitchen and walking up to his empty room.

Falling down on his bed, Clark didn’t curl up in a ball like he wanted to do before, but just lied sprawled down, his arms and legs out wide as he closed his eyes. Clark listened to the life around him, smiling as he took notice of the mooing and slight crowing

It felt better then horns honking and people screaming like it was down in Metropolis. Yeah, the Metropolis life was good and all, he couldn’t lie about that, but he did miss his home dearly. His parents and Clark put what had happened those three months behind them and decided on just becoming a closer family

Clark couldn’t help but wonder what would happen next though...when would be the next time he got sick? How would it feel, where would be? And most of all, when would it go away? Deep down inside Clark just wanted answers to his questions; he just wanted to know what was wrong with him....

And the answers that he wished for would be coming sooner then he thought...

Chapter six: So many things to take care of, way to little time

The feeling of waking up took over Clark as he walked down the stairs of his house, listening to the sound of his mother walking around the kitchen trying to cook him and his father breakfast. Clark let a warm smile fall upon his lips as he saw his mother at the stove, flipping pancakes and cooking eggs at the same time

Clark finished buttoning up his red flannel shirt that he was wearing as he took a seat behind the working mother, watching her turn around and smiling down at him kindly. Clark returned the grin, looking over to see Martha pull a cup out of the cupboard and fill it up with clear water, handing it over to Clark

“How are you feeling this morning Clark?” Clark turned his head over at his mother once she asked her question, and he nodded his head taking a gulp of the water. Feeling the cold liquid run down his throat, Clark put the cup down to see it now half full as he let a breath out

“Doing great mom, in fact, I never felt better. I think I slept it all off” Clark informed her, seeing a smile form across her lips as Clark got up from his seat. Walking over to where his mother stood, Clark kissed her on the cheek as she told him

“Your father’s outside un loading the hay, if your feeling that great I’m sure he can use your help” Clark chuckled, hugging her once before he was about to run out of the house, but her voice caught him off guard

“Finish!” Martha ordered, handing him the cup as he laughed, and gulped the water down as quick as he could before waving to his mother and super-speeding out of the house, leaving Martha to shake her head and roll her eyes

“I don’t think we will ever get use to that boy” Martha mumbled, turning off the stove and seating the plate of food down on the table

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Jonathan grunted as he threw the stack of hay out of the truck, and onto the ground. Stopping for a second, he wiped his brow from the sweat forming on it as he suddenly felt a cool breeze past by him. Laughing, Jonathan saw his son stand in front of him with a huge smile on his face

“You know just how to make my day Clark. I see your feeling better” Jonathan told him, taking another stack of hay and throwing it across from him, into the felid as Clark nodded his head, walking over to help his father with the job

“Yeah, I feel great exactly” Clark grinned, throwing the hay on the ground as his father stopped, walking over to him and patting him on the back

“Well, that’s good to hear son. Because Lana came over this morning” Jonathan smirked, looking at his son to see worriness written all over it. Shaking his head, Jonathan left his son’s side and picked up another stack of the yellow hay

“What did she say?” Clark asked, still not moving from his spot as Jonathan threw the hay, wiping his hands and looking over at Clark. Sighing deeply, Jonathan swallowed and blinked his eyes from the bright sun that was beaming down on them when he walked back over to Clark’s side

“She was worried about you apparently. Your mother told her you still weren’t feeling well. Her answer to that was she would be calling you later on today” Jonathan said, watching Clark crack a smile and grab some hay. What surprised him though was when he threw it; the hay flew over the sky and into the forest

“I’m guessing your happy...” Jonathan assumed as Clark looked at his hands worried. Looking back over at his father, he smiled along and just dropped the issue that he didn’t even try to throw the hay. He was worried yes, but he saw his father was happy and did not, in a million years, want to ruin that

“Well, I’m just glad she cares dad. That’s all I’m happy with” Clark smirked, watching Jonathan laugh and pat him on the back before turning his attention over to the house when he heard his wife yell for him to come in and eat

“I’m going to go and get some breakfast, you think you can finish up?” Jonathan asked, watching Clark node his head. Turing around, Jonathan started to walk away from his son not hearing the painful gasp come out of his mouth

Grabbing his stomach tightly, Clark’s mouth opened in pain as he closed his eyes, feeling hot tears start to well up in them. Never had Clark felt this kind of pain before, not even when he was around Kryptonite, no this pain was far worst then that. Strong nausea took over him, and at the same time his head literally felt like it was about to explode, the pain was to much for him to take and he let another gasp fall out of his mouth when he felt his body go into small spasms

Bending down in pain, Clark still held onto his stomach when his body felt like it was being burned up. Flashes of hot white pain took over Clark as he couldn’t take the torment that his body was going through, and he let a loud deep scream out of his mouth before slumping down to the ground unconscious

Jonathan spun around at the sound of a scream, and he looked around for the source, not expecting to find his son lying down on his back, his hand resting on his stomach as the other was sprawled out on the ground

“Clark!” Jonathan yelled, rushing over to his son’s side. His eyes widened once he took a closer look at Clark, his face was pale and he had a light green color all over his body.

“Clark! Son, answer me! Clark!” Jonathan yelled, slapping his son on the cheek lightly as he took notice that he was unconscious. Sweat poured down Clark’s face as Jonathan picked his head up, placing it in his lap and looking around worried....

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Chloe sat at her desk, typing up the latest issue of the Torch, ignoring the fact that the room smelt like a rotten old barn. She had to beg Principle Reynolds to let her type up the school newspaper, even if the school did reek, she needed to write it or else she would be behind. And Chloe never liked being behind, because that just caused a lot of work

Coughing slightly at the smell around her, Chloe kept her mind of the computer when suddenly she heard footsteps walk into the room and she looked up to see her male friend staring down at her

“Hey Pete, I don’t know how you can stand the smell of this!” Chloe exclaimed, coughing again as Pete chuckled, taking a seat next to her as he patted Chloe on the back. Smiling Pete looked over at the computer to see the title of the latest Torch issue just what he thought it was going to be

‘Bomb boy sets sink bomb off in school’

“Well, it fits what’s been going on” Pete told her, getting up from his chair and walking around the room when Chloe rolled her eyes and went back to typing

“It’s a newspaper Pete. It’s suppose to tell you the news” Chloe teased, watching this time Pete roll his eyes and he laughed. Taking a seat across from his friend and saying

“Clark told me about the comment that you said four days ago” Coldness filled Pete’s voice, causing Chloe to stop what she was doing and spin around in her chair, facing the boy

“I got mad at him, sorry” Chloe mumbled, turning her eyes once again back on the screen as Pete shook his head, sighing and switching her screen off so she had to look at him

“Clark was really looking forward to that date Chloe, and it got ruined, he just happens to tell you this and you yell at him. That’s low, even for you” Pete said, watching Chloe get up from her seat as he did the same, both friends standing now

“Yeah, well so is keeping stuff from your friends” Chloe’s comment caused Pete to slump back down in his seat, sighing as he thought of the secret Clark had to keep from everyone. It wasn’t like he could just go around and tell people he was an alien, and he knew telling Chloe or Lana would have them both freak out. Chloe just didn’t accept that fact

“Yeah, Clark has to be the Knox Fox of secrets” Pete mumbled, loud enough for Chloe to hear as she chuckled. Sitting down in her seat and turning the screen back on, she made her mouse to a couple of clicks before replying

“Yeah, well he isn’t the only one” Pete felt his stomach jumble up in fear as he sot straight up in his chair and looked at her worried, gulping and getting back up from the chair for the third time

“Are you talking about me?” Pete asked as Chloe shook her head, feeling her eyebrows raise at his question as she turned her attention to the computer

“No, not unless your keeping something from me. Are you Pete?” Chloe inquired, watching Pete laugh and shake his head. When she turned her eyes away from him, Pete let a deep breath out that he was holding and wiped his brow

“Well, then. What are you talking about?” Pete asked again, watching her turn the screen over to him to show the Smallville water tower. Only it was being taken apart, and this caused Pete to get confused

“About a week ago Smallville got a new water supply, and didn’t tell us. Lionel Luthor fired Crystal Clear springs for no reason, and the whole town is going crazy because of it!” Chloe exclaimed, watching Pete raise one of his eyebrows and scratch his head

“So.... Who did he replace us with?” Pete asked, regretting doing so though. A couple of click later, Chloe turned the screen back over to him. Pete swore his heart skipped two beats, maybe more as he felt his breath get stuck in his throat once she replied

“Crater Lake”

AN:.....you guys really like this story? Okay, for smlvlchk shakes, I'll update :)

btw, the begging is Clark's POV

Chapter seven: Bring me to life

~Wake me up
Wake me up inside
I can’t wake up
Wake me up inside
Save me
Call my name and save me from the dark
Wake me up
Bind my blood to right
I can’t wake up
Before I come undone
Save me
Save me from the nothing I’ve become~

Have you ever had a dream where all of the sudden your falling from the sky? Screaming, yelling, and begging for help? Well if you have, you should notice the exact second before your body hits the ground; you wake up in a cold sweat. But have you ever thought about what would happen if you didn’t wake up?

That’s what happened to me. I was doing everything I ever wanted to do, fall freely from the atmosphere, feel the cold wind rush down my body, feeling like nothing could ever go wrong. Until I hit rock bottom. But what if you woke up, not able to move? Would you start panicking, wondering if the dream really did happened? Or would you think you just entered the surroundings of the matrix

Worst of all, what would happen if you awakened, not even able to open your own eyes? You would freak out, I know that’s for sure. But I’m also sure you would take the time to congregate your thoughts, think about your life

Life isn’t as easy as you always thought it would be, because life is a cycle. When we’re born, we’re only babies. Not able to talk, move, just kick are legs and cry. You’re so helpless and not able to do a thing, because you can’t speak, you can’t walk, you can only cry for help. It’s probably the best time of your life, even though you may not remember it. Because you don’t have to worry about what’s going to happen next

When you’re a toddle, you don’t know what life is. Your just playing with Barbie's or toy trucks and cars, not knowing why there are people outside of your house driving to work, or trying get jobs. You think you can do anything you want with out consequences, and when it comes to being in trouble, you’re as scared as a gun being pointed to your head

That comes to being a kid. Your hanging out with your friends, telling each other what your going to be when your grow up, and your just having fun without a care in the world. The girls think boys are disgusting, the boys think guys are ‘icky’, either way, you still don’t know what life has in store for you

Bringing up the blossom of becoming a teenager. Having no control over your hormones, waking up every morning to find a zit on your face, thinking about if someone is going to ask you out today, or if the popular group is going to invite you to eat lunch with them. Your finding out that you can’t always just stay where you are, not having a care in the world. You need to get a job, support your life, and pay for your car all the stuff your parents like to call responsibility. Life isn’t a piece of cake, and you happen to find that out the hard way

Adulthood. Growing up on your own, having a job to support your family, worst of all, trying to find out the meaning of life. Is it money, cars, wives and husbands, love? Or is it having kids, living your dreams, becoming a happy family?

Truth is, no one knows the meaning of life. You can go half way around the world and still not know what it means, then just find out you wasted your life trying to figure out something that is impossible to do. That’s why you just have to enjoy life while you can, live it to the fullest, and just have fun

If only I knew that before. Pretty pathetic how I had to find that out the way I did, in fact I have no clue what is going on around me right now. Are my parents jumping up and down, cheering because I might be dying? Or are they crying their faces out, doing their best to save me. I don’t have a clue, the only thing I know right now is

I can’t move...

“Jonathan, what are we going to do? He hasn’t woken up all day!” Martha exclaimed, taking a seat down at the kitchen table as her husband sighs and nodes his head, not daring to take his gaze off the ill boy lying on the couch

“I know Martha, but at the moment all we can do is wait” Jonathan told her, putting his head in his hands as he got up from the seat next to Clark, and walked up to his wife sitting down next to her. Tears streamed down her face as her eyes where rimmed with red circles, and her eyes where looked blood shot from the crying she had done

“Martha, this is Clark we’re talking about. He’ll wake up any minute now, and if not then tomorrow morning. He’s going to be okay” Jonathan said, expanding the last five words as Martha nodded her head, sniffing as both parents didn’t hear the soft groan in the living room

Moving his head side to side, Clark groaned weakly and slowly tried to open his eyes, but found it unsuccessful. His whole body was numb, to heavy to even pick up his own hand. Even though it was scaring him that he couldn’t budge a muscle, Clark was sure that if his stiff body wasn’t without sensation, he would be in intense pain. Knowing the fact because his head was pounding uncontrollably, and he was also glad his eyes where shut close, because he knew the light, even the dimmest, would close them anyway

Feeling the cushion behind him, he took notice that he was lying down on the living room couch, his head propped up by a blue pillow. Voice consumed his ears, and he knew without delay that his parents weren’t far from him. He tried to talk, but his mouth refused to open, and he felt like crying when he heard his parents talking about what was going on, but all he wanted was to call their names out. But instead, he just let his ears wonder onto the conversation

“I’m scared Jonathan, what if he’s dying?” Martha cried, leaning into her husband’s shoulder as she stood up, the both of them hugging. Jonathan pulled his wife closer to him, listening to her sob into his chest

“He’s going to be okay Martha. It’s okay to be okay” Jonathan whispered in her ear, feeling her stop for a second as the both of them sat back down, Jonathan pulling the strands of hair away from her face

“It’s going to be okay. He’s going to wake up, and feel better then ever” Jonathan told her, feeling his voice crackle as he knew he was lying to his wife. Sniffing, the women pulled her red hair behind her ears and asked

“Jonathan, what if Clark does die. I’m not talking about now, but what if someone captures him. Take him into a lab and kill him...what will we do?” Her voice soon turned into a whisper as Jonathan shook his head, kissing her on the forehead and gulping back the lump in his throat that was rising slowly

“Then we’re think of that when the time comes honey. Remember when Clark ran off to Metropolis?” Jonathan suddenly asked as Martha nodded her head, sniffing slightly and closing her eyes

“How could I forget” She whispered, listening to her husband continue “That was the hardest time of our lives, but we made it through. And we’re going to make it through this one too, I promise” Jonathan told her, pulling her into a kiss

Clark wanted to scream their names out, tell them that he was awake, that they didn’t have to worry, but he couldn’t. Still with his eyes closed, Clark felt hot burning water fill his eyes, and yet as if an answer, a loud moan filled the room

Martha abruptly and breathlessly pulled away from Jonathan and ran into the living room, where her son was shaking his head back and froth. Running her hand down his cheek, she bent to her knees and smoothed his hair that was soaked with sweat back

“Clark, son, how are you feeling?” Jonathan asked, approaching the ill boy and sitting down in the chair next to his head. He moaned again, this time able to open his eyes and meet his parent’s face. The room was dark, the only light that was provide was in the kitchen and the moon that was shining through the window

“I can’t move...” Clark mumbled, looking over at his mother who let a small cry out as she got up, walking back into the kitchen. Clark heard the water in the sink turn on, and he closed his eyes once he heard his father talk.

“What-what else hurts?” Jonathan was able to say through his tears, closing his eyes also and bowing his head. Martha came walking back into the living room with a damp cloth in her hands, and she bent back down to Clark, smoothing his hair back and waiting for him to answer her husband’s question.

“Nothing.... My body is so heavy though...I can’t...move” Clark’s eyes widen once he opened his eyes once more, and he gulped loudly feeling his breath go shaky. In front of him were both of his parents, the only thing different though was that some how his x-ray vision was on and he could see right through his parent’s bones.

“Dad...” Clark whimpered as Martha placed the cloth on Clark’s head, and then Clark’s body was motionless, and darkness over took him. Martha let another tear stream down her face when suddenly; the door slammed open and Pete ran into their living

“Pete, what’s wrong honey?” Martha asked, getting up from her place next to Clark and walking up to the breathless teen that exclaimed

“I know what’s wrong with Clark!”

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Green fragments filled the clear glass Jonathan was holding up the light as Martha gasped when she saw the water. Lowering his head, Jonathan dumped the glass of water back into the sink when Pete sighed, looking at both worried parents

“Jonathan, we’ve been poisoning him the whole time!” Martha cried, letting her elbows fall onto the contour and he head into her arms. Jonathan looked back at the unconscious Clark who lied down on the couch, blankets pulled up to his shoulders and the washcloth that was lying on his head before was now dumped in the sink in front of him

“Martha, we didn’t know” Jonathan told her, his voice in less then a whisper as Martha let a cry out again, leaning into Jonathan’s shoulder as Pete took a glance over at his sick friend, feeling small form of tears in his eyes. Once Pete had found out Clark’s secret, he thought never would he had to see him like this...and now it was to much for him to handle

“What are we suppose to do Mr. and Mrs. Kent? I mean, Clark has always been around Kryptonite, but never has it been in his body” Pete finally spoke up, seeing both parents look at him worried as they let his words sink into their heads

“I don’t know...” Jonathan whispered, looking over at his son and then back at Pete whose gaze was fixed on his son. Martha wiped the tears away from her face as she turned her eyes over to her husband

“Jonathan, there’s only one thing we can do. If Lionel fired Crystal clear springs, and replaced us with Crater Lake...that means we have to have Lex talk to-” Martha tried to talk, but Jonathan cut her off by walking up to his son, obviously ignoring his wife

“Clark, son wake up” Jonathan whispered as Pete and Martha looked at each other confused by the older man’s actions. Their gazes where cut of guard though by a soft groan saying “Dad?”

“I’m right here son, you just rest okay...Chloe found out Kryptonite is in the water because Lionel had Crater Lake become out new water source. I just want you to take it easy; we’re going to find out what to do tonight okay?” Jonathan told his son, his voice also in a soft whisper, as Clark moaned, not able to nod his head at Jonathan’s statement

“Can I go outside?” Clark asked, watching Jonathan’s expression become confused at his son’s question as Clark finished “I just want to get some fresh air. It’s really stuffy in here” Jonathan smiled softly, tucking the blanket his son was covered with around his body and slowly swung his arm over his shoulder

“Okay, try and swing your legs over the couch, I’ve got your back” Jonathan told him, watching his son groan deeply as he did so. Helping Clark walk out the door, both men sat down on the swing when Jonathan wrapped the blanket closer around Clark as he shivered at the cold air around him

“Dad...what’s going to happen to me?” Clark whispered, looking over at his father who sat down next to him. Smoothing Clark’s hair back as he leaned into Jonathan’s shoulder, he sighed and shook his head

“I don’t know son...and it hurts to not know the answers I’m suppose to know” Jonathan told his son, bringing him closer to his warm body as suddenly a vehicle pulling up in the drive way caught both men of guard. Sitting up from his father’s shoulder, Clark wearily looked at the car confused, feeling helpless that he didn’t know who it was even though down inside his ill mind, Clark did know

“I’ll leave you two only Clark, but I want you inside in five minutes okay” Jonathan whispered, getting up from his seat and walking through the screen door of the house, listening to the creaking noise fill the outside area

“Hey Clark, I called earlier today but you mom said your still sick. I thought I drop by to see how you where doing” Lana said, getting out of her car and shivering slightly at the cold air around her. Smiling, Clark gathered up enough strength to at least sound better then he really did

“Thanks Lana...yeah I’m-uh-I’m fine. I guess I just caught a nasty cold that’s all” Clark told her, watching her walk up the stairs of the porch and slowly approach him. Gulping, Lana felt like running away at the sight of the ill pale boy, but she remembered her promise that she made earlier. Even though Clark was sick, she knew he was still human and she had to get use to the fact he wasn’t always invincible, so she took a deep breath and sat down next to Clark

“Well, this has to be a first. Clark Kent sick, it was a shocker when Chloe found out.” Lana told him, feeling a laugh fall out of her mouth as Clark smiled, rubbing his hands together and replying “It isn’t the first time...exactly.” Shifting his position on the swing nervously, Clark saw Lana’s face as he brought back the memories of when he and his mother was sick before

“Well, anyway-I just wanted to see how you where doing. I’ll um, stop by tomorrow if that’s okay” Lana told him, getting up from white porch swing once he replied a simple ‘okay’ and headed away from the house, but suddenly stopped when she heard his voice

“Lana?” Clark asked, seeing her turn around and stuff her hands in her coat, looking at him questioning “Yes?” Lana replied, watching Clark get up from his spot also, as he tightened the blanket around him

“Thanks” He grinned, listening to his un-even breath fill the area. Lana looked at him confused and asked

“For what?” Clark lowered his head, rubbing his hands together and he looked back over at the raven-haired. A small smile crept onto his lips, and even with all that was going on at the moment, he felt better then he ever did with her there. With a simple reply, Clark walked back into the house leaving Lana on high sprits

“For caring”

Chapter eight: Love so strong, but yet so secretive

Dreams filled Jonathan Kent’s mind as he slept peacefully under the covers of his large bed, feeling the warm, soft, body of his wife lie next to him. It was a beautiful bright sunny morning down in Smallville as everyone in the small town was just waking up and feeling the smell of Saturday morning fills their senses

Men got up to do chores, women got up to fix breakfast, husband and wives slept in, and fathers and mothers woke up to their kids bouncing on their beds. What ever it was, the people still remembered it was the weekend and they didn’t have to worry about anything until Monday came

Jonathan rolled over to his side, feeling his right hand huddle on his wife closer to him as she grinned. Smiling back, Jonathan opened his eyes and took a deep look into the eyes of the sleepy Martha Kent, who gave him a peck on the check and whispered

“Good morning” But right was Jonathan was about to reply, he took notice of the torrential vomiting coming only from the bathroom just across from them. Even in his drowsy state, Jonathan knew what was going on at the moment and jumped out of the bed swiftly, grabbing his blue robe and putting it on all while running to the sound that he was hearing

His impulsive run to the bathroom soon stopped at soon as he opened the door, and he took a good look at the sight in front of him to make sure he wasn’t seeing things. Soon after that, he saw in the corner of his eye his wife standing besides him, her hand over her mouth to terrified to speak

Clark Kent, bending down on his knees and his head practically in the toilet, was throwing up violently only taking deep breaths when he got the chance too. It took the father time to walk up to his sick son, and by the time he did he bent down on his knees also, looking at Clark scared and worried

“Shhh, just let it all out son. It’s okay, just let it all out” Jonathan whispered, looking over at his wife who came walking over and bending down to her knees next to Jonathan, and she started to rub Clark’s back just like she did when he was a little kid

It took time for Clark to regain himself from the incident that had just happened, and by the time he realized both his parents where by him, his body felt like a ton of bricks and he let his back fall into Jonathan’s arms. Panting wildly, Clark opened his eyes to see his father staring down at him, his fingers running through his dark brown hair, smoothing it back

“Clark, sweetheart, I thought you where in the living room” Martha questioned, looking up at Jonathan with worried eyes. Taking time to redeem his breath, Clark was able to breath out a couple of words, but his stomach was still twisted up in knots it was extremely hard for him to just take simple breathes on his own

“I...I was.... But.... it got...stronger...I needed....t-to talk...to you and mom...-dad it hurts so much!” Clark whispered, whimpering and letting his body relax once again as Jonathan looked at his wife to see water in her eyes. Turing his gaze once again back onto his son, Jonathan ran his fingers up and down the boys hair when Clark suddenly got up from his lying spot, and dumped his head back in the toilet, watching more digested food fly out

It unexpectedly stopped though, but was replaced with Clark grabbing his temples, rubbing them back and froth all while groaning in pain

“Clark? Clark, son what’s wrong?” Jonathan asked, seeing his son’s pain as Clark let a gasp escape his lips and before they all knew it, fire was shooting out of his eyes and into the water. Jonathan sat where he was in shock as Martha let a single tear fly down her face once she saw what was happening to her own son. Time passed by before the heat-vision had stopped, and immediately after he was done, Clark fell limp in his father’s arms, obviously passed out

“Jonathan...” Martha whispered, watching the father pick Clark up and half drag him to his room. Things we’re getting tougher by the minute, and both concerned parents didn’t want to admit things weren’t going to get better either....

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Lana walked down the stairs of the Sullivan's, caring a large brown basket in her hands as she finally reached the living room, and sighed once she put the basket full of clothes down on the couch where Chloe was sitting, a phone up to her ear. Lana rolled her eyes and walked over to where the computer was, as she sat down in the chair and she bent over to turn it on when something caught her attention

“Clark’s still sick? That’s strange Pete, he’s never sick, and I mean never. What does he have?” Chloe asked into the phone, causing Lana to snap her head up as Chloe laughed at her curiosity and Lana again rolled her eyes at the blond

“Ask Pete when he’s coming back to school” Lana told her, switching the computer on as she heard a loud ‘beep’ arrive and she turned her head over to see Chloe put the phone down, and smile back at the raven hair

“Ask him yourself” Chloe informed her, sitting up on the couch as Lana sighed, walking over to her and joining Chloe as she sat down on the couch also, clearing her throat and asking

“Pete, when is Clark coming back to school?” Lana inquired, sighing as she heard some rumble over the speakerphone. Looking back over at Chloe, she shrugged and lied down on the couch as Lana got up from her seat, walking back over to the computer

“I don’t know. The Kent’s said he’s got some bug and won’t be coming back Monday” Pete said, as both girls could hear a sigh over the phone and Chloe rolled her eyes when she rolled onto her stomach and took a look at Lana, who was still starting the computer up

“Well, the reporter I am, could you tell me the symptoms?” Chloe asked, hearing Lana mumble a couple of words that she was sure she didn’t need to hear anyway. Ignoring the raven hair, Chloe kept her hears on the phone once he started talking

“He’s got a fever, throwing up, really weak. I feel sorry for the man, he’s as sick as a dog” Pete answered, listening to Chloe groan and he could already imagine the sad look on her face. Lana’s head though snapped over and she looked at Chloe, suspension filled her face as Chloe’s suddenly to

“Have they taken him to the doctors?” Lana asked, and if almost on cue, the two girls heard Pete yell the words ‘Matt, get out of here, I’m on the phone!’ and before they knew it, the line went dead

“I feel sorry for Pete, he has to live with a bunch of annoying siblings” Chloe mumbled, hanging the phone up and looking back over at Lana who still had the same face on

“What?” Chloe asked, watching Lana get up and reply “Clark that’s what. He’s never sick Chloe, I’m really worried” Chloe sighed and stressfully got up from her seat, stumbling over to the door and opened it

“Well them, let’s go see him” Chloe told her, seeing a mix of happiness and fear on Lana’s face

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

“Lex, Clark will be fine I promise okay” Martha informed the man, taking a sip of her coffee as Lex did the same, nodding his head

“I know Mrs. Kent; I’m just worried about him. I have a good feeling it’s the water that’s making him sick and I think you should get him checked out” Lex suggested, watching Jonathan sit back down

“He’s just got a cold Lex, he’ll be fine” Jonathan said, drinking his coffee as Lex sighed. Realizing he wasn’t going to be able to get them to agree with him, Lex nodded his head and got up from his spot, heading to the door

“If you say so Mr. Kent. But if he gets worse, I want you to call me” Lex told them, leaving the room and heading out the door. Once he did so though, he saw two girls walk up to him and smile

“Hi Lex” Lana said, watching him return the smile and head over to his car, driving away from the Kent farm as Chloe shrugged “Guess we aren’t the only ones paying a visit to Clark” Chloe told Lana, knocking on the door to see Martha answer it

“Hi girls, come in” Martha said kindly, watching the two girls walk in the kitchen and smile at Jonathan, who smiled back and got up from his seat, putting his mug down on the contour

“Hi Mrs. Kent, we where just wondering if we could see Clark” Chloe told her, feeling Lana’s grip her arm and she winced slightly at her nails digging in. Martha nodded her head, pointing her head to the door

“Yeah, he’s up in his room. He’s probably sleeping; so don’t wake him up” Martha told them, watching them head up the stairs and into the hallway. Lana didn’t know where she was going, since it was her first time up in the second floor so she followed Chloe every step. Lana and Chloe reached the door that had the sign ‘Clark’s room’ on it and slowly, Chloe turned the knob, watching the door fly open it’s self

Lana looked around her surroundings, seeing the curtains where closed causing the room to be dim and gloomy. Even with the lack of light though, Lana could see it was really an incredible room. He had a computer, with flying through space screen saver, books and magazines were scattered across the floor and CD’s were stacked high on his dresser and desk.

Chloe watched her look around; “This is the first time you’ve ever been in here huh?” She asked, watching Lana slowly nod head. Looking over at the bed, both girls could see a figure curled up in a ball, lying on it’s left side snoring lightly making Chloe giggle a little

“Come on Chloe, what guy doesn’t snore! I sure know you do, give him a break okay!” Lana whispered in a stern voice as Chloe nodded her head, walking up and sitting down in a chair next to Clark, watching Lana do the same. The only difference though was that Lana was on the left side and Chloe was on the right, facing his back inside his head

“He looks so peaceful” Lana said, feeling her voice un throughout the room, and they heard a soft moan fill the room also as Clark turned on his back, falling back asleep as Chloe smiled when Lana brushed the hair out of his eyes

“Well, he’s sleeping. Unless he is having a nightmare, I think he is having a very peaceful time.... He better be sleeping! Clark, are you sleeping?” Lana tried to hide back the laugh as Clark shook his head slowly, making Chloe slap his leg and he was able to mange a small smile

“See, it was a good thing a checked or else he could have heard every word we said!” Chloe told Lana, watching her roll her eyes as she pulled some more strands of hair away from Clark’s face

“Your over dramatic Chloe” Clark said, barley moving his lips as he kept his eyes closed. This time, Chloe rolled her eyes at the boy’s statement and she picked up the glass of water next to her, wanting to dumb it on the boy as Lana gave her an annoyed look, stopping her from doing so

“Fine, fine I won’t. How are you feeling Clark? And give us the truth, we don’t wan to hear ‘I’m fine’ again” Chloe told him, watching him shift positions on the bed and open is eyes

“You want the truth? I feel miserable” Chloe laughed at his comment as she got up from her spot, patting him on the back and saying “Then I’ll leave you along to die in your bed. Come on Lana, let’s leave poor Clarkie alone” Chloe joked, watching Lana nod her head

“I-I’ll meet you out there” She said, looking at Chloe for an answer but she saw she was already gone. Turing her eyes back over to Clark she whispered,

“Are you sure you’re okay?” Clark merely nodded his head, letting his eyes shut against his will and unexpectedly his body fell asleep, his face going from painful to peaceful once again as he fell into slumber

“Goodbye” Lana said softly, giving him a kiss on the forehead. But the next words that came out of her mouth didn’t mean to, she guessed the slipped, but either way they where said she knew what they meant....

“I love you Clark” She whispered

Chapter nine: When I look to the sky

When I look to the sky
Something tells me your here with me
And you make everything all right
And feel like I’m lost
Something tells me your here with me
And I can always find my way when you’re where here

Silence filled Clark’s ears as he stumbled down the stairs of his house, blinking a few times as he tried to remember what he had come down to the second floor for. Shaking his head from the sudden dizziness that had filled his head, Clark reached the bottom of the stairs and slowly entered the kitchen

It was empty. The only noise made was the quiet farm life around him, or the silence that had actually started to sound like a combination of soft crickets and a Sunday evening along, sitting in your house with no one around you. Clark gulped loudly, feeling a small amount of bile in his throat, and he dreaded to go into a race to the bathroom again. He had to admit, throwing up was the worst part of the sickness he was going through, and he did not want to do it again

Trying to walk over to a chair, Clark suddenly felt the world around him looked like a seesaw. Feeling his legs turn into jello, Clark let his body collapse to the floor, waiting for his head to hit the ground and feel the impact of a concussion for the first time. Slowly though, he opened his eyes to find he was being held by someone

“Son, what are you doing up?” Jonathan asked, holding Clark by the arms as Clark tried to put on a smile, but his lips wouldn’t budge an inch. Instead, he felt his weight being lifted up, and his father swung Clark’s arm over his shoulder and supported his weight on his body. Grabbing Clark’s waist with his free hand, it took time to find a prefect balance for his son, but when he did, Jonathan kept him where he was, not daring to move the boy

“You haven’t answered my question” Jonathan grinned, watching his son slowly return his smile as Jonathan looked deeply into Clark’s eyes, and for the first time since he had been sick, he took notice of how much agony he was going through

His whole body was shaking with chills, dark black circles lied under his eyes, his face looked like he had just seen a ghost and his cheeks where flushed with a fever. In other words, he looked like pure hell. Jonathan told himself mentally once, or if, he got over this horrible sickness that he would spend as much time with his son as he possibly could. It hurt him so much that he had to see Clark in this condition though

“I-I just wanted to get my legs moving-you know it’s pretty cramped up there” Jonathan smiled softly as his son’s comment, and slowly with out telling him, both men began to walk out of the house and onto the porch. Sitting Clark down on the swing, his eyes told him to stay where he was while he went to get a blanket, and Clark nodded his head

Bringing up his head, Clark felt a small grin fall upon his lips as he took a look at the sky above him. The sun was setting, leaving strikes of blue, red, and yellow colors in the sky, and if you looked close enough you could see the moon peaking out from the thin pure white clouds. Clark always did the sunsets, he never knew why, but they just made him felt like he was safe. Like he didn’t have to worry about anything, like nothing bad was going to happen

“Here, this should help some” Jonathan said, walking out of the house with a long blue blanket in his hands as he wrapped it around his son, who took it gratefully. Sitting down next to Clark, Jonathan took a deep breath as Clark let his head lean against his shoulder, both men looking at the beautiful site in front of them

“Guess who called four times today” Jonathan said softly, looking in the corner of his eye to see Clark look up at him, questioning look on his face. Jonathan waited to reply, almost like he was being sucked up at the look of the sunset, but finally he looked back over at Clark with a warm smile

“She really cares about you Clark” Jonathan informed him, watching Clark’s face be filled with a smile, as he knew immediately whom his father was talking about. Settling back down in his father’s shoulder, Clark sighed and stared deeply into the sky looking like he was waiting for an answer from it

“I know she does dad.... It’s just-I don’t want to put her in anymore danger” Clark whispered, hearing Jonathan reply with a ‘hum’ as he looked down at Clark, his eyes filled with statements and long lectures

“Clark, either way she is going to be kidnapped by some freak, you have to understand that son. Not dating her isn’t going to solve all your problems, your be better of just doing what your heart tells you to do” Jonathan said softly, both men looking at each other as Clark nodded his head

“I guess your right...she probably thinks I’m a jerk though” Clark told him, taking a deep breath of the air around him and turning his eyes straight again, roughly trying to ignore his father from what he was going to say next

“Then why has she been calling wanting to talk to you, wondering how your doing. Clark, son she told us to take you to the doctors over what seemed like- a million times! If that doesn’t say something, then what does?” Jonathan informed him, watching Clark look at him with a sing of joy and shock

“I guess that means she really does care...your right dad, I should just straighten things out with her” Clark answered, leaning deeper into his fathers shoulder as he nodded his head, again both men looking at the sunset. Time passed by as silence once again filled the area, father and son not talking to each other, just enjoying the time they had together. But what seemed like peaceful time soon stopped by Jonathan picking Clark’s waist up, and Clark looked over at what he was looking at to see why he was doing so

“Come on son, let’s not get your mother upset because your outside barefoot” Jonathan told him, pointing his head over at the red truck pulling up in the drive way. Clark chuckled at his father’s comment as he picked up his waist, bringing him in the house when Clark stopped along with his father

“Dad?” Clark asked, looking over at his father who replied “Yes son?” Clark took a deep breath before smiling warmly at Jonathan who did the same

“I’m glad you and mom are the ones who found me” Clark answered. But before his father could even reply, with just one step Clark was running around the house in his super-speed. Scared and confused, Jonathan dropped the blanket that had fallen off his son and into his hands as he felt rushes of wind pass by him and blurs of colors

Time passed by as he saw the speeding stop as Martha walked into the house when the couple heard a crash at the top of the stairs. Jonathan ran up the stairs, soon to be followed by Martha was the couple saw a prone figure lying at the top of the stairs, taking huge gulps of air

“Clark!” Martha exclaimed, watching Jonathan turn Clark onto his back to see his face red and air blowing through his cheeks “Dad...” Clark said between breaths as Jonathan held Clark close along with Martha

“It must be the Kryptonian Jonathan that’s why his heat-vision went off. It‘s making his powers go wild” Martha whispered, looking over at Jonathan with worried eyes. Jonathan returned the look, before holding Clark closer to his body....

Lionel took a drink out of his glass, feeling the hot liquid fall down into his throat as he put the cup down on the table next to him, letting a deep breath out and turning his attention back over to the man sitting down next to him

“So Lex, what did you want to talk about?” Lionel asked, watching his son sigh and hand him over a couple of papers. Looking over them confused, Lionel looked at his son with a questioning look

“What is this all about Lex hu?” He inquired, putting the sheets of paper down on the desk and took another drink from the glass sitting across from him when Lex rolled his eyes, taking the papers back and putting them in Lionel’s face

“I want you to bring back Crystal clear springs that are what this is all about. Dad, I’ve gotten complaints from people about the water not only tasting different, but they’re getting sick!” Okay, so the last part was a lie, but at the moment Lex would do anything to get back their regular water supply, since he knew why his friend was sick, even if his parents wouldn’t accept it

“Well then Lex, you should remember what I have taught you. Survival of the fittest!” Lionel protested, seeing his son’s confused expression, and took a last drink from his glass before sitting it back down

“What does that have to do with innocent people that could be dying?!” Lex exclaimed, getting up from his seat and throwing the papers across the table as Lionel smiled wickedly

“It means, fight for what you want, don’t sit around and hope that it comes to you” With those words, Lionel walked out of the room leaving Lex alone with tons of thoughts wondering around in his head

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

“Oh come on, it can’t be that bad” Clark chuckled, looking over at Lana who was sitting down next to him on the living room couch. A blanket lying across the two, Lana laughed and shook her head, watching Clark laugh with her

“I mean it Clark, I go in the school for a second and it smells like- people dying! It reeks” Lana exclaimed, both still laughing as Clark put his hand up in defense, a smile still placed on his mouth

“If you say it reeks, then it does. I’m just glad I don’t have to go in there” Clark told her, bringing the blanket up a little higher as Lana look at him in the eye, smiling widely. The sun outside was bright and shinning as both friends sat down on the couch while Clark listened to Lana tell him what had happened at school that day

“Yeah well, I’m sure you still feel miserable” Lana guessed, watching the boy next to her slowly nod his head as she let a sympathy smile fall onto her lips. Clark lowered his head, hearing Martha trying to get pans and pots in the kitchen cabinet as Clark suddenly brought his head up, staring into Lana’s eyes

“Lana.... Listen I need to tell you something” Clark said, his voice filled with seriousness as Lana returned the expression, nodding her head for him to go on. But right when he was about to, he groaned and grabbed his stomach in agony whimpering slightly

“Clark, what’s wrong?” Lana asked quickly, seeing his pain as he mumbled ‘not now’ before letting a small silent cry out. Martha heard what was going on and rushed into the living room, looking over at Lana who had small tears forming in her eyes fast

“Oh my god, Clark your burning up!” Martha said, feeling her son’s forehead. Lana got up from the couch, looking over at Martha for some sort of answer, and almost as one both women heard a loud scream fill the room

Everything from there was just blurry for Lana....

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Clark lied down on the couch; blanket pulled up to his neck as Lana sat next to him, brushing the strands of hair away from his closed eyes. Sniffing back the tears in her eyes, Lana moved her hand from her lap and slowly wiped the tears away from her face when Martha came walking back into the room with a thermometer and wet washcloth in her hands

“Okay, let’s see what we’ve got here” Martha whispered to her self, sticking the thermometer in Clark’s mouth as she told Lana to hold it for her, and with a lump in her throat she did. Placing the warm washcloth on his face, Lana sniffed as she remembered all the trouble Martha had to go through just to get the cloth wet with water

At first Lana was confused at why she had dumped bottled water in a pan on the stove, but then she remembered the new water source, and the mother probably didn’t want her son to be ‘exposed’ to the toxic that Lex had told he about that very day. Minutes passed as both women heard a loud beeping noise come from the thermometer and Lana sniffed as she read it

“105.3. That’s pretty high Mrs. Kent” Feeling more tears in her eyes, Lana placed the stick on the table next to her as Martha saw the sadness that was consuming Lana and she bent down to her, whispering in her ear

“He’s going to be all right” Lana nodded her head, rubbing her hands together as she took another look back at the pale boy. Lana lowered her head from the site, feeling like every time she took a look at Clark he was just dying more and more

‘He’s not dying Lana! He’s sick, not on his deathbed!’ Lana told herself. But she didn’t know that her love was dying...faster then she knew it

Oh yeah, PLEASE do not say your confused by the end of this chapter, because I know you will be. Just read the last line of the scene with Lex and Lionel and it should help...some

Chapter ten: Two fights, two battles, one win

Clark shot up from the couch, looking around puzzled as he only heard the sound of crowing fill his ears, and he took a couple of deep breaths before placing his hands in his lap. His eyes darted over to the window where the sun filled the sky along with tons of pure white clouds, causing Clark to scratch his head in confusion

‘What is going on here....’ Clark thought, slowly swinging his legs over the couch, as he suddenly heard talking not to far away from him. Pushing his body upward, Clark stumbled over to the kitchen where both his parents sat down at the kitchen table, one reading a newspaper while the other drank coffee. What confused Clark the most was...

They where smiling

“Good morning sweetheart, how are you feeling?” Martha asked, getting up from her spot at the table and walking over to where Clark stood, looking up at him to see his was clearly bewildered

“Uh.... what happened last night?” Clark slowly inquired, letting his legs sit down in a chair next to his father who put his hand on Clark’s shoulder, a smile filling his face. Clark took a loud gulp before listening to what his father had to say

“Well, apparently the Kryptonian had gotten to you, but that doesn’t matter. What does is everything is back to normal” Jonathan said, watching his son shot up eyebrows up in the air. Never had Clark seen Jonathan so happy in his life, and yet here he was with a grin on his face and his sprits lifted high

“Mind filling me in mom?” Clark inquired, listening to his mother’s soft laugh fill the room as she sat down again, folding her hands up in a ball as Clark let his eyes wonder around to both parents, waiting for an answer

“Well, Lex stopped by last night” Martha told him, watching Jonathan grunt and slump down in his chair as Clark asked “What did he want?” Martha sighed and answered her question, continuing what she was saying

“He got Crystal clear springs back Clark, we don’t have to worry anymore! Hopefully, this sickness will pass since we can flush it out with some water, and you will be back to normal before you now it!” Martha informed him cheerfully, feeling like she had done something right when she saw the huge smile plant on her son’s face

“So, everything’s going to be all right?” Clark asked, hope filling his voice as Martha nodded her head, giving her son a huge as he returned it, happiness filling his whole body. Suddenly though, Jonathan clearing his throat cut the two off

“Sorry to break up the happy moment here, but we got to get down to the farmers market honey” Jonathan reminded her, watching her gasp and nod her head, quickly running over to grab her purse as Jonathan got up from his seat, patting Clark on the back

“I’m glad to see your feeling better son.” Jonathan told him, watching Clark smile back at him when Martha came rushing into the room “When will you be back?” Clark asked, watching Jonathan grab his coat and swing it on

“Sometime later on tonight, call us if anything happens okay?” Martha told him, watching Clark nod his head as both parents left the house. Clark waited until they where out of site before walking up stairs and into the bathroom...

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

“What did you do Lex?!” Lionel yelled, slamming the double doors open to find Lex sitting down at his desk, smiling proudly when he saw his father anger. Lionel just threw the papers in his hands across the room when Lex got up from his seat, walking over and getting himself a drink

“I brought back Crystal clear springs dad” Lex told him simply, taking a gulp of his drink as Lionel’s face winkled up in anger, obviously anger at his son. Lex couldn’t stop smiling, knowing he had completed his mission

“I fired that company for a reason!” Lionel yelled, listening to Lex’s shoes gild across the room as he walked over to the doors, ready to walk out when he shook his head, turning around and pointing his finger at Lionel

“No dad, you just wanted to keep your popularity up!” Lex yelled back. Lionel’s face slowly turned into a confused expression at his Lex’s words when Lex chuckled, turning back around

“What are you talking about?” Lionel asked, seeing his son did not face him but answered

“We all know why you fired CCS dad. So you could have Smallville’s Crater Lake as are new water source! I’m not that stupid dad, neither is the rest of Smallville!” Lex yelled, watching his father storm by him and walk out of the room

“You’re not the only powerful one around here” Lex mumbled, going back to his desk and turning his attention to his work. Only he wouldn’t know that the fight he was having with his father was going to might cause his friends life....

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Clark walked into the blue bathroom, taking a deep breath and slowly walking over to the tub, sitting down on the edge and turning the water on. Waiting for it to warm up, Clark striped his shirt off and got up from the edge of the white tub to un- button his pants. Once they where on the floor, he sat back down on the edge and his body shivered when his soft thighs touched the cold metal of the tub

Placing his hand under the water, Clark smiled and turned the shower on, closing the curtain so the water wouldn’t come out. Taking off his light blue boxers, Clark stepped into the shower, closing the curtain on his way. Clark sighed in relief once he felt the hot water stomped on his back, and he let his eyes close once he felt his shoulder relax

Leaning his head back, Clark felt the warmish waterfall upon his head as he ran his fingers all the way through his hair, feeling it coming wetter and wetter by the second. Taking a deep breath, he felt the steam in the room slowly approach as he opened his eyes, but immediately closed them once he did so

Clark started to feel extremely lightheaded as he placed his hand on the wall next to him, keeping his body still, hoping the dizziness would go away. But when he opened his eyes he found out it didn’t help, and the whole room was a blur in his vision.

Leaning his body against the wall, Clark felt the coldness run down his body, but the only thing he could focus on was the fact his stomach was nauseous and his head felt like a feather. His knees slowly and painfully buckled up as Clark felt his body fall to the bottom of the tub face first, as his head hit the floor and his mind was fighting between conscious and unconsciousness. Slowly enough though, his body gave up and he fell into oblivion

Because so, Clark didn’t notice the bright green steam fill the bathroom....

Chapter eleven: Silence my breath

~Silence my breath

Secrets hidden inside
Wanting to know what
You’ve kept from the outside

Silence my breath

It feels like a knife
Tearing through the skin
Screaming and yelling
For oblivion

Silence my breath

Love is pure
Love is right
Love is something
Something so tight

Silence my breath
Bled the heart
Quench the pain
Throw the dart~

“Damn it dad! Why are you doing this?” Lex screamed, storming into his father’s study to find him standing over the balcony, a glass lying in his hands. Lex’s face was filled with anger and irritation when he saw his father smile, and slowly Lionel begun to walk down the stairs as Lex threw a couple of papers in his hands on the ground

“Doing what Lex?” Lionel asked, obviously knowing what his son was talking about, but was completely hiding it for no reason whatsoever, which just made Lex more made. Storming up the steps, Lex pulled out a small piece of paper that was folded up in his pocket and shoved it in his face

“Bring back CCS, that’s what! I can not believe you did this! Didn’t the hint, people are getting sick, even get into your filthy rich head of yours?!” Lex yelled, watching his father walk down the stairs pass him, pouring the glass into his mouth as Lex ran down the stairs, getting more annoyed with his father by the second

“I told you Lex, fight for what you believe in.” Lionel stated, placing his glass down on the table next to him as he bent down to pick up the scattered papers that lied on the floor. Sighing, Lex bawled his hands into a fist as he walked over to Lionel, so now once he got up they where face to face

“This better not be one of your no good for nothing test of yours! Because people are getting sick because of that water and-” Lex tried to talk, but Lionel just chuckled and walked over to his desk, sitting down in the wheelie chair and spinning around

“Really Lex? Because I haven’t gotten any complaints for Smallville you know that?” Lex’s face was full of fear and anger at his father’s answer, and he gulped nervously once he replied once again

“Or is this about your friend, Clark Kent?” Lionel asked, getting up from the seat and walking over to his son, who lowered his head in embarrassment as Lionel chuckled at his son’s reaction

“Yes, I’ve heard about the younger ill Kent, poor boy is extremely sick. Or at least that’s what the Kent’s say...” Right at his words, Lex’s head snapped up and his eyes bugged wide open at his father’s comment

“What the hell are you talking about?” Lex whispered, watching Lionel chuckled and answer

“Well, it’s either you’ve always had a nasty habit of talking in your sleep, or you tend to mumble a lot of what’s happened the past day. Security cameras don’t lie my son” Lex shook his head and stormed out of the room, hearing his father’s last dreaded words as he did so

“Fight for what you believe in Lex!”

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Chilling ice cold water flew down Clark’s back as his eyes snapped open, and he coughed violently at the thick steaming air around him. Bringing his numb hand to his face, Clark slowly began to remember what had happened, and he blinked stupidly a couple of times to make out that he was lying face first in the tub

With his body being weak and shaking with coldness, Clark tried to push himself up, but only found that he fell once again, his cheek hitting the floor. Even with the splitting headache, and the fact he couldn’t breath with the steaming air around him, Clark couldn’t ignore the fact that freezing ice cold water was pouring down on his already numb back

He gathered up enough strength to push his body up to his knees, and he let a breath of relief out when he felt his hand gild around the tub until he finally turned the icing cold water off. But it hit him like a ton of bricks when he saw the bright green steam wondering around his body, and his eyes bugged open once he knew what was going on

Covering his mouth with his hand, Clark held his breath and shakily got out of the tub, grabbing a towel and running out of the room closing the door behind him. Once he reached his bedroom, he collapsed on the floor and wrapped the long white towel around his aggressively shaking body. Clark tugged the towel closer as he looked over at the clock next to his bed, and he felt warm tears well up in his eyes as he saw the time.

He was out for an hour and half. Meaning his parents still wouldn’t be home for a while, and in the condition he was in right now, he needed his mom and dad for then anything. Crossing his legs up in an Indian style, Clark couldn’t hold it in any longer, and he broke down into a crying fit, listening to his hoarsely sobs fill the room

The only thought wondering in his mind was that he might be dying...

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Jonathan and Martha laughed as the entered their house, Jonathan’s arm wrapped around his wife as she smiled, taking off her coat and handing it over to Jonathan. They both stopped though as they saw the fireplace in the living room lit, and bundled up in three blankets was their son, who’s face was paler then usale

“How was your day son?” Jonathan asked, hanging his wives coat up, listening to Martha walk over to Clark when suddenly he blurted out “I passed out in the shower.” Dropping his coat that lied in his hands, Jonathan and Martha looked at each other worried before looking back at Clark, who was still shaking slightly

“What?” Martha whispered, rushing over to her son and touching his cheek to find it freezing cold. Jonathan son ran over to Clark, sitting down next to him also when he gulped, pulling the blankets closer

“I-I don’t know. I started to feel dizzy when I just passed out. I woke up an hour later, meaning the water had turned icy cold, I’m all right though, nothing serious happened” Clark said, his voice a little wobbly as Jonathan shook his head, grabbing another blanket and wrapping it around his son

“No, Clark! Your not okay, you could have hypothermia” Martha exclaimed, watching her husband give her a strange look “Jonathan, if he passed out in the shower that means that Kryptonite had to be around, meaning he was as vulnerable as a human! Clark, why didn’t you call us?” Martha asked, running her hand down Clark’s cheek

“As soon as I got dressed and came down here, and feel asleep. I got up an hour ago, and knew you guys where coming home anyway.... And-and there’s one more thing” Clark stumbled on the last words as his father froze; asking “What else could there be Clark?”

“I have a good feeling Crater Lake is are water source again” Clark said quickly, watching his mother’s expression go confused as he finished “There was a bunch of green steam around the bathroom as soon as a woke up, so I’m guessing Lionel must have brought Crater Lake back.” Jonathan sighed, walking over to the fire and lifting a log up next to it, putting it in as Martha sniffed, looking over at her son

“Are you sure your okay Clark?” Martha whispered, watching Clark slowly nod his head and yawn a little before looking back over at Jonathan, he sat down next to him also

“Yeah, just a little cold that’s all” Clark told them, watching Martha tighten the blankets around her son. After she did so, she looked up at Clark to find his sound asleep, and she looked over at Jonathan

Both parents exchanged worried glances....

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

“Hello, anyone home?” Lana knocked on the Kent’s door, smiling as she saw Martha come walking into the kitchen holding a thermometer in her hand as she opened the door. Walking inside the kitchen, Lana kept her smile on as she saw Martha place the stick down on the table and wrap her coat around her

“Lana, hey! I’m guessing your here to see Clark” Martha chuckled lightly as she walked around the kitchen table, grabbing her keys that lied down on the rack as Lana nodded her head

“He’s in the living room asleep; I’ve got to head down to town so if he wakes up, just tell him where I went okay?” Martha told her, watching Lana nod her head as Martha then left the house. Slowly, Lana walked into the living room and grinned brightly once she saw the sleeping Clark lying down on the couch, a blanket wrapped around his body

“Don’t know how, but your still cute when your sleeping” Lana whispered to her self, pulling up the rocking chair and sitting down next to him, brushing the strands of hair away from his face when he suddenly stirred

“...Mom?” Clark mumbled, listening to a soft laugh fill his ears. “No sleepy head, but I think I might be close enough” Lana chuckled, watching Clark half smile as she noticed he was half asleep, which just brought the giggles to her

“Your mom had to go into town, she’ll be back soon” Lana whispered, brushing the hair away from his eyes as he yawned silently, sniffing and pulling the blanket closer to his body

“Lana?” Clark asked wearily, feeling his mind drift into slumber again as he tried his best to fight it off once he heard the simple ‘yes’ from the raven-haired.

“It’s okay Clark, go back to sleep” Lana whispered in his ear, as Clark flinched slightly once he felt the warm air fill his ear and he smiled when he yawned one more time, before seeing black fill his eyes

“I love you Clark” Lana told him, watching him smile as she almost laughed when she saw he was still awake, but yet asleep “What are you doing here Lana?” Clark mumbled, listening to Lana chuckled and smooth his cheek with her hand

“Just go back to sleep Clark” Lana said, watching Clark grin and place his hand under the blue pillow and falling back into slumber. Lana got up from the rocking chair and left the house with a smile on her face. Even if he didn’t remember what she had told him, she told him...

And that was what mattered

AN: Aw who cares, I'll give you another update today. Only because I'm in a good mood....and the fact I'll be posting the last chapter tomorrow :D lol. And Yes, I kinda got the begging idea from Firechild's fic, so I'm just coming out and saying it.

Here ya go!

Chapter twelve: An angle with healing wings

Clark lied down on the couch; a white and blue blanket covering his body as his eyes darted at what looked like a magnificent fire in front of him. It was around twelve o’clock as he listened to the sizzling of the fire crackle in his ears and the chirping of crickets outside of the house

Sighing, Clark placed his hand under the white pillow and hugged it close to him, closing his eyes and letting his body relax in the couch. He felt the heat of the fire come closer to his body as he slowly got up from his lying spot, and sat down in a sitting position, staring at the flames like his life depend on it

Looking at the red and orange conflagration, Clark felt his tired eyes drift shut and his body fell on the back of the couch, letting his thoughts fill his sleepy mind

‘Okay...so. Let’s get this straight. I might be dying because Lex is having a fight with his father, or so that’s what dad calms...wait a second Kent. This is dad we’re talking about...do I have to say any more? Okay then, I might be dying from some un none reason-no. That’s a lie, we know why I’m sick-ugh! This is so confusing!’ Clark thought, grapping his head and groaning annoyed

‘I’m suppose to be resting remember? Not trying to kill my self by thinking I’m the cause of this stupid sickness.... Wait, what if I am? Okay Clark, know your just delirious, how can I be making my self die? Well, there is plenty of reason.... Oh just shut up all ready!’ Clark let a cry out of his lips as he was already fed up with himself, and he slumped down into the couch when he suddenly felt a ruff hand land on his shoulder

“Clark, I thought you where asleep...” Jonathan whispered, sitting down next to his son who smiled wearily, moving over some to let him sit down.

“Yeah um, couldn’t really get any of that, so I thought I could try and gather up my thoughts. I think I’m just making this whole situation worst by doing that though” Jonathan laughed at his son’s comment and he looked over at him, seeing the blazing of the fire reflect in his bright blue eyes

“Don’t worry son, your mother and I have been doing the same all night. He’s awake Martha, come on down” Jonathan called out, watching Clark smile as he saw his mother walk down the steps, slowly walking towards the two men

“How have you been feeling?” Martha asked, sitting down to the right of Clark as he shrugged, lowering his head and sighing sadly

“I wouldn’t know I forget what feeling normal and abnormal is like these days.” Clark mumbled, feeling his mother hug him tight as he returned it, his head leaning into her shoulder and he smiled at the smell of her half way worn off perfume

“Don’t worry sweetheart, this thing is going to be over with any second now, you just have to hang in there” Martha told him, feeling a sympathy smile form on her lips as Clark did the same, lowering his head again

“Yeah, well, I just wish it would be over with now” Clark stated, looking over at his father who sighed, patting Clark on the shoulder. He could tell just by looking at Clark’s eyes, that he was miserable and completely fed up with what was wrong with him, and Jonathan could relate with his son. He hated the fact that his son, who wasn’t even normal, was as sick as a dying man, and the only thing he could do about it was say ‘hang in there’

“I know Clark, but just wait and it will be. At least you get to feel the wonderful joy’s of being sick” Jonathan tried to lighten up the mood, but only got a loud grunt from his wife and he lowered his head once again, seeing clearly that he wasn’t helping

“Thanks allot you guys. If I had any other parent they wouldn’t be as caring as you two” Clark answered, getting hugs from both his parents as Jonathan said

“I don’t think any one else would have put up with you” Clark laughed and looked over at his mother and she laughed along with him, hugging him alone and replying “Well, let’s not find out if they would.” Pulling away from his mother, the smile on Clark’s lips soon faded as it became confusion, and he grabbed his stomach, looking around puzzled

“Clark, what’s wrong?” Jonathan asked, looking at his son who brought up his hand, looking at it shocked to see his veins green and his hand looking like it was swollen. Martha looked at her husband confused as Clark doubled over in pain, sweat forming on his forehead as Martha rushed into the kitchen, leaving Clark and Jonathan alone

“D-dad...it feels l-like when I-I’m around K-Kryptonite....o-only stronger...dad please make it stop!” Clark whimpered, leaning back into the couch as Martha came back in the living room, a soaked washcloth in her hands and a half full water bottle

Clark suddenly closed his eyes though, and he felt the ice cold washcloth lie on his head as he sighed, snapping his eyes opened and looking around confused “Clark what’s wrong? What happened?” Jonathan questioned, feeling his wife slap him on the shoulder

“Jonathan, your son is sick and all you can do is question him?” Martha asked, feeling Clark shake his head and look at them, confusion and happiness filling his eyes

“No...no...I feel-fine.” At his words Jonathan and Martha looked at each other confused before looking back at Clark, who was smiling broadly...

Lionel slowly walked into his son’s study, looking around to find him just besides him, and Lionel gasped slightly surprised. Lex just chuckled and shook his head, walking over to his desk and sitting on top of it

“You come here to have another compact battle dad?” Lex asked simple, taking a pencil from the left of him and spinning it around in his hands as Lionel sighed, handing him over the papers

“Lex, I want you to stop this ridiculous-” Before Lionel could even finish, Lex jumped off the desk so he was eye to eye with his father and smiled proudly

“Ridiculous? Dad, you told me to fight for what I believe in. And I believe one thing...” Lex told him, watching his father’s eye brows shot up and ‘hum’ rather loudly “Really Lex, what would that be?” Lionel asked as Lex took the papers in his hands, tearing them in half and throwing them on his father’s head

“I believe you lost this skirmish.” Lex informed him, walking out of the room and saying

“It’s over dad I won”

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

“Yes, okay. No I understand Lex, no it’s okay really...yes...no I don’t think we can do that.” Martha talked into the phone, looking over at the two men who sat patiently at the table, Clark leaning against his father’s shoulder and Jonathan rubbing his son’s hair back as they listened to the mother talk her son’s friend

“Okay, I get it.... No Lex you don’t have to apologize it wasn’t your fault sweetheart...yeah I understand. Yes it was we’re sorry for not telling you before...no he’s fine now really...okay.... Bye” Martha hung the phone up and looked over at the two men, sighing and smiling at the same time

“It’s all over” She pronounced, listening to her laugh and Jonathan’s fill the room. Hugging Clark tightly, he smiled as Martha let go and hugged Jonathan back

“Thank god!” Clark exclaimed, throwing his hands up in the air as Jonathan laughed at his reaction “Drink water for the next couple of days, and you should be just fine honey” Martha told him, watching Clark nod his head and smile grateful

There was one more thing he had to take care of though....

To be continued

Chapter thirteen: What life is about

The sun slowly rose over the thick white clouds of Smallville as the citizens of the small town woke up, getting ready to go to work or school, excited about the weekend in front of them. It was a beautiful, bright, sunny Friday as Clark and Pete sat down in the living room of the Kent house, throwing cards at each other repeatedly

“Hey Clark, can I ask you something?” Pete asked, throwing a card down on Clark’s lap as he nodded his head, gathering the cards up and turning his attention to the boy in front of him. Pete sighed and took one of the cards from Clark, and unexpectedly hit him on the head with it

“Tomorrows Saturday right?” He inquired, watching Clark nod his head as Pete smiled, taking another card from him, so now he had two red and blue cards lying in his hands, blocking his face. Clark raised one of his eyebrows as Pete laughed, throwing them on his lap

“Well, you’re not doing anything….” Pete’s voice was full on hints, but apparently they weren’t getting to his friend. Rolling his eyes, Pete took the cards and shoved them in Clark’s face, getting up from his spot and walking into the kitchen

“Ask her out man!” Pete told him, sitting down in a chair and began to eat the food Martha put in front of him. Clark rolled his eyes before taking a look at the two cards, and smiled when he saw a queen and a king in front of his eyes….

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Clark walked down the stairs of the house, now fully dressed in a pair of jeans and a red flannel shirt as he walked into the kitchen, sitting down in a chair and began to eat the pancakes and eggs. The smell reminded him of the night before when they had just gotten the news that he was going to be all right. The first thing he did was pig out, mostly because he hadn’t ate in days, and felt like he was going to starve to death

Clark stuffed the pancakes in his mouth as he heard a chuckle from his father, and still with food hanging out of his mouth, Clark gave him a questioning look and shrugged, listening to laughs fill the room. Gulping, Clark smiled and took a drink from the orange juice next to him and said

“Hey, if you hadn’t eaten in over a week then I’m sure you would be doing them same” Pete patted Clark on the back, watching him take another gulp of his drink as Jonathan rolled his eyes, lowering the newspaper and looking over at his son

“Guess who called this morning” Jonathan told him, watching his son laugh and smile at the same time. Getting up from his seat Clark walked over to his father and sighed, a smile still spread across his face as he leaned down next to his father, taking the newspaper from his and folding it up

“What did you tell her?” Clark asked, watching his father take the paper away from him and turned his attention back to reading it as he listened to his wife finish what he was going to say for him

“She asked if you where coming to school today” Martha told him, filling a glass of water up and taking a drink from it, watching Clark shiver as she laughed, placing the water down. But before she could even finish Pete interrupted by walking up to Clark and putting his hand on his chin

“What do you think would happen if someone became a meteor freak when Kryptonite was in the water? Would they be like…barf boy?” Pete wondered, feeling Clark slap him on the shoulder as Pete grabbed it with his hand, letting a cry come out of his mouth as Martha continued

“I told her you would be late, but you are coming. Speaking of which, it’s time for you two to leave. Want me to drive you?” Martha asked, watching Clark nod his head embarrassed

“Yeah, I don’t think I want to take any more chances” Jonathan laughed at his son’s comment as Martha grabbed her coat, telling the two boys to meet her outside. “She really cares about you son” Jonathan said, flipping over the newspaper as Clark nodded his head, walking out of the house and saying

“That’s why I’m going to ask her out” Jonathan let another chuckle out of his lips as he returned his attention to the paper, but a hand snatching his bacon caught him off guard

“Leave Pete!” Jonathan exclaimed, listening to feet running out of the room and the screen door closing

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

The school bell rang as students ran out of the school; cheering and yelling excited about the weekend in front of them. In the crowd, Clark Kent ran down the stairs and pushed through the students, catching up with the raven hair in front of him

“Lana, wait up!” Clark called out, running up to her as she turned around, smiling at his presence. Clark returned the grin, pulling the strap on his backpack higher as he took a deep breath, trying to figure out last minute words for what he was going to say

“Hey Clark! Your mom said you where coming, I didn’t see you all day though. How have you been feeling?” Lana asked, watching Clark smile and sigh, both friends walking down the parking lot as Clark answered

“I’ve been doing, it feels really nice to come back to school. Who would have thought missing school would be one of my priorities” Clark laughed along with Lana as they suddenly stopped walking, turning around and looking at each other

“I’m glad to see your feeling better Clark, it wasn’t the same without you” Lana stated, watching Clark smile and stuff his hands in his pockets “Well, thanks for coming to see me while I was sick. It gave me something to do, trust me. Game boy and play station gets extremely boring” Lana laughed hard at his comment, smiling and looking up at him to see he was smiling also

“Hey Lana…are you busy tonight?” Clark asked, waiting for Lana to reply. It took a while for the answer, and Clark felt his stomach jumble up in knots with nervousness as he felt like sighing when she finally did

“No, I have a early shift at the Talon, so I’m completely free for the rest of the night” Lana chirped, and Clark felt like cheering right then as he asked “You want to do something then…?” Clark asked, watching her face become serious

“As friends?” Lana asked, looking at Clark’s smile fade suddenly as he dug deeper in his pockets, feeling like he was going to rip them open any minute

“N-no actually I was thinking of, um, like a date” Lana smiled, and before Clark could even finish his statement, she pulled him into a long passionate kiss

The end

I started reading this story for the first time today, and I must say that I was really impressed. It has all of the elements that I look for in a story. First off, emotional and physical TC. It has 'helpful' Lex in it which is always a pleasure. The parents are there and an integral part of the story. And finally, Clark's friends are involved.

All of these things together make the perfect fanfic story for me!

I'm totally speechless, lol, no I'm not. That was awesome!!! I hardly ever read Clana fics, this one was terrific and the Clana was cool. By the way, I want to thank you because I seriously lost all interest in the bottle of water I was drinking, way to go!

Anyway, although you wrote this story over what, two years ago? I'd still like to know if there was a sequel to it.
