View Full Version : Lana + Mirror = Heat Vision!

I thought I would die laughing when Lana looked at her reflection and it activated her heat vision! And yeah, I can see someone saying that she was hot because of Clark, but it looked hilarious to me. It's not enough that everyone else is obsessed with her now she is as well. Isn't that the definition of Narcissistic?

I thought Vampires couldn't see their reflection in mirrors

Well, they weren't technically vampires...just "diseased."

I'm still boggled Lana can have heat vision since she isn't Kryptonian. Big screw up there.

Well, Eric wasn't Kryptonian either. I guess it's just one of those oddities.

True. Very odd on both counts lol.

I'm thinking if drinking Clark's blood can give her powers, well then Lex had the ENTIRELY WRONG idea about that vial of blood back in S2/S3.

In vampire mythos drinking a victims blood gives the vampire the victim's "life force." It makes sense that she would absorb his abilities as well.

I agree. She would absorb his abilities. And I don't think she got the heat vision from looking at herself. When you realize that after drinking his blood she felt his warmth, love, and strength and that she never felt closer to someone - she got it from Clark. She just happened to look at the mirror at that moment.

Come on - I've been saying for four years that Lana has been affected by that Kryptonite necklace that she wore for sixteen years around her neck, and the effects of it is that everyone becomes obsessed with her. It looks like it even effects her when she looks at her own reflection.
The other sorority vampires even alluded to the 'obsession' when they said that they were the prettiest. I knew with that statement that Lana was a shoe in - because that's been the whole focus on her since the beginning.
Just think about it - look at all the mutations in Smallville. Remember how affected everyone has become with very minimal exposure to Kryptonite, yet Lana wears a piece around her neck for sixteen years and has no residual side effects? The one recurring theme with Lana is everyone's obsession with her.
She's even affected Chloe - who should've kicked her butt by now. Lois - who didn't even know her, yet she's constantly pushing Clark on her. Martha's who's enamored with her. The only woman she hasn't affected was Nell, who left her butt to raise herself. So, who knows.
If she's not affected - then what is it about everyone else in Smallville that comes in contact with meteor rocks that they are defenseless against it, except her?
Like I said in another post - Smallville sometimes seems like Lanasville - and Lana's the true hero, because she does amazing things. She even makes Clark her footstool and lap dog.

Oh, someone has a very high opinion of themself!
Well, I have only one thing to say to Lanavamp: ´Girl, you should better make sure you have a soft landing, cos nobody is that good looking!´
Other than me of course!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

good post: crazyforsmallville. i actually agree with most of that. i think it is a very good theory and one that tptb need to bring up sometime down the line and then i personally could tolerate lana more, knowing that there is an actual *reason* why everyone reacts to her the way they do and to no one else and so on.

That doesn't even make sense. Why should a few superficial guest stars be compared with the characters who have been on this show since day one?

we -are- talking about the episode "Thirst" in the "Thirst" episode forum? right? :\

Yes we are. Now correct me I'm wrong, but aren't you saying that b/c a few bimbo vampire girls didn't like Lana b/c of her smarts and sweet personality, that everyone else on the show who has known her for years couldn't possibly like her for those things? That just doesn't make sense to me, and I think you all are reading way too much into things.

I think they saw something in her that Clark was wising up to when he caught Lana with one foot out the door. and they -liked- it.

Here is a good question: Why does the heat vision break the mirror, instead of reflecting off it?

Again I think you're reading into it too much. She was merely picked b/c otherwise we wouldn't have had a story now would we? That and they probably thought she was the prettiest. I mean, how could they see something in her that 5 other ppl she has known for years couldn't see? Vampires don't have the ability to read minds.

she was ready and willing to offer up Clark to Vampirism.
even with the conscience she was shown to have she would subject him to that. honestly.

She's rarely smart, and she seems to twist most conversations to be about her. She's usually nice, except for any of the random times that she's vindictive or unforgiving or untrusting or otherwise unlovable.

Vamp Lana using heat vision was great. She was good as the villian. She looks good but in this episode, she looked esecially hot!

Umm okay...maybe she was untrusting and unforgiving b/c ppl have constantly screwed her over. If she was ever mean to Clark it was b/c he hadn't treated her right (like when he's on red K, something she doesn't know about) She's a lot like Lex in that ppl are always betraying her and lying to her. And I think that's the reason her and Lex will end up together, b/c they're the same. Except of course Lana isn't evil. And they actually have mentioned her smarts a few times, even in Thirst when Clark implies she has excellent grades. True she can sometimes be selfish, but Clark and especially Chloe, someone everyone seems to love, have been just as selfish on many occasions.

Like I've said a dozen times, when she was a vampire she wasn't herself. It affected her judgement and emotions. In essence it made her evil. You could tell b/c immediately after Buffy kissed her, her facial expressiaon changed and she had an evil grin. So when Lana was about to turn Clark vampire, it wasn't really her.

Did anyone laugh their ass off when Lana squinted her eyes and let the fire out? Come on now, that was classic. She looked like she had some major congestion or something.

I don't think thats the reason, vampires way of having sex is throught biting u, obviously aroused she shoots off heat, her looking at the mirror was to witness the look on her face, and it was a disease and disorder being the reason why she saw herself. They only inherited the main objectives of the idea of what vamparism is.

It just seems odd that anyone with Kyrptonian powers or origin(ship) is effected by Kryptonite, except Lana. Even though she had a "Kyroptonite Disease", there should have been more of a reaction to it.

DracuLana with heat vision...
Bulls***. That the only thing I have to say... Electrical transference of Clark's powers is possible (he is a solar battery), but biting? A krypto-bat disease? Bulls***.

Then why was Clark able to plunge in the needle?
They need to think these things through.

Ick ... Lana.
It's a very good idea, and would make a lot of sense!

I'm guessing she let out a short, very hot blast, a sharp temperature change that caused the mirror to shatter. Clark, who has more experience in controlling heat vision, would've been able to melt or shatter it depending on what he wanted to do.
Either that, or just bad writing. :D

That is true, but if you remember back in the 90s there was a movie called "Interview with the Vampire" with Tom Cruise, if you watch the movie there is a scene mabye another scene I haven't watched the full movie, anyway my point is that in one scene there is a young female vampire who is looking in the mirror and she clearly sees her reflection

I thought that was funny. Lana sees herself and becomes turned on?.....Oh my God. I know they didn't intend it that way but it was funny.
Clark "Do you think Lana is Vain?"
Chloe "When you make love, does she call out her own name?"
Clark gives Chloe this sad look.
Chloe "Well, there you go".

Good observation on Lana having that necklace and "not being affected by it". The writers were aware enough to have Lex wear a black glove every time he has a future vision of Armageddon (Dead Zone influence anyone?). From what I understand, Lex in the comics had a Kryptonite ring to defend against Supes and it eventually gave him cancer and he lost the hand, thus the black glove.
Perhaps (speculation) Lana will become a FOTW with a very very minor ability because of that necklace and she will have to live with it, and eventually make her decide to leave Smallville and Clark so that she can learn to understand what she now has become. Maybe she hurts or accidentally kills (again) with this ability and she decides to leave the people she cares for so she won't hurt them. In pity, Clark reveals the big secret to her but she still leaves. Clark finishes school, moves on to Metropolis and becomes the big "S".

I didn't realise that, but now that you mention it
Just goes to show, Lana is a pink obsessed, self-absorbed, nut job. Just kidding :D But, yeah, seriously; that's pretty funny. I wouldn't have noticed.
