This wasn't the worst episode of all time...I would say the OUTSTANDING verbal jousting b/t Braniac and Lex made this overall episode only slightly below average...Carrie Fisher was good, as well

Yeah, James Marsters did an awesome job, the B plot made up for the A plot. And I wouldn't say that was that bad either.

I've said it before...with Halloween coming up, I wasn't expecting anything from it.
I wouldn't say he saved it but I was happy to see him in action...!!!

Wasn't a fan of the all to close to "Sex in the City" narrative by Miss Sullivan, but I have to say, James Marsters did save this episode. Everything in it was really below average but his interactions with Michael R. I was expecting exactly what I got. From the readings of others....most of us did. Poor overall.

I too wasn't diggin the whole monologue thing. The light hearted tone of it didn't really fit with the drama of the story.
Must also admit that Marsters was awsome. I never saw him on Buffy, but man this guy can really act. He is easily among the best the show has ever had. His delivery is very convincing.
It was an ok episode, but then again I wasn't expecting much from the previews.

I think Marsters has done a decent job as Fine/Brainiac (we haven't really seen that much yet), but am I the only one that finds his fake accent somewhat off, almost annoying?
Oh well, that isn't to knock his acting, which otherwise has been good.

James Marsters saved this episode
He did indeed,
So did, Carrie Fisher.
They along with
Clark, Chloe & Lex made the show watchable. But the whole Vampire thing (sucked) as did lana & Clana.
Also the Daily Planet ending was cool . along with some forshadowing lines
Chloe : Up Up and away.
Chloe : The Daily planet home of a future Superhero .

When he gives the look of contained distain you can feel Lex squirm and Lex doesn't squirm very often. His sensual stroking of the ship is understandable. It's his, and is an extension of himself.
The seduction of Clark continues. It's kind of sad because as observers we know he is about to be used by both Martin Fine and Lex.
As to the plot, people come on, this was a Halloween episode and did very well both with the over the top psuedo-vampire-sororiety girls (would you expect them to be serious and sombre ) and the opportunity for Chloe to snag a spot on the Daily Planet. Hello Metropolis.

This was definitely a poor one, a more Chloe-centric episode, somebody was trying too hard to do a VM impression.
Only thing that saved it was Lex/Fine, I really hope we don't get any more Chloe-led episodes, I can't stand the girl.

Yeah the Milton Fine - Lex interactions were the high points of this episode. We didn't see Clark do anything super.

Clark was sort of a victim himself in this one. He did manage to hang on long enough to cure Lana. Wasn't that super enough ? The question is what makes him a hero ? His powers or his heart ? I think most would agree that it is the heart.

The Lex and Milton Fine interactions were great. Chloe and the Dailey Planet with Carrie Fisher were also part of helping this episode out. Carrie Fisher did a great job. I hope that we do see her character again.
I thought Chloe's narrative of the situation actually helped out the whole seriousness (or ridiculousness, however you see it) vampire part of the story. I like the girl! More Chloe centric episodes are always entertraining to me. Bring on Metropolis. UP UP and AWAY.
