Man, Fine is such a rip off of Terminator 2's T-1000 it's not even funny. Cool though....but still...RIPOFF!

I agree. Marsters even looks like the guy who played the T-1000 with the way his hair is done IMO.

umm...how the heck does he have ANYTHING to do with T-1000? if your talkin about his hand turning into a dagger, that was already done in the 2nd episode of season 5 anyway....

There are slight differences - ok the actual concept was taken from T-1000 but that dont bother me. Lets face it many ideas are taken from other shows and movies and this episode just gone is a huge rip-off of Buffy the Vampire if ever there was one !!! - I cracked up when Chloe got her crucifix out - 'This aint the moves...' line from Lana !!!!
No seriously - if you look at Arrival and the way Braniac forms from the liquid - its very much Kryptonian in the same way as the FOS - with sharp crystal like formations (in Braniac's case - sharp liquid formations). This is different from the way the T-1000 formed, which was purely like liquid with no sharp edges and it was also silver in colour. The morphing effect they are using is different in Smallville than Terminator 2 and I think that gives it some credit.

3 similarities:
1) the way he appeared from the liquid
2) he killed lexs guy in the same way t1000 kills john connors foster parents
3) brainiac sorta looks like robert patrick with that hairstyle

just 1 question....
did the liquid come OUT of the ship, or FROM the ship?

LOL!!! Ummm.... He was Brainiac going way back to when he was created by the race that enslaved x number of worlds. You are saying a simple disguise actually changes who you are. I'm waiting for Clark to discover the magic glasses work for him. Wanna hide? Whip on some glasses and no one will recognise you. LOL

To me it looked like he may have been on the hull of the ship not inside. It was really had to tell.

Is Brainiac kryptonian metal? If so then Fine could easily be more deadly to Clark than anything!

I believe Brainiac has more powers than what he currently shows...

Fine's knife thing wasn't even silver like the T-1000. Trent from Gone was way more like a T-1000.

Not if they are going by the Brainiac in the comics. He's not of Kryptonian design or creation.

I was rolling my eyes when I saw Fine kill the security guard alla the T-1000, which is why I wrote this post, but I was caught up in the heat of the moment! Obviously, with 13 years of technological improvement, it's not going to look the same but the concept is still there and the point was....it's been done. This character can be much more sophisticated.

I'd bet Brainiac would destroy the T-1000 in a couple seconds, personally. Be something like a light snack. :p

waner bros own the rights to the terminator films so they can use their effects on smallville also they own the rights to the matrix trilogy so they can also use bullet time

They can but I seriously doubt they will. Those FX are BIG bucks. For a TV show like SMallville I don't see them shelling out that much cash fo them. I believe the last season finale was the most FX heavy episode they have done so far. But money isn't the biggest issue. We have all seen big bidget movies full of FX that sucked big time. It comes down to the writers and cinematographers. If they lack imagination and creativity then it's most likely gonna be a rehash of old stuff and often not executed very well.

Oh, sure, girls that have been affected by a rabies virus and get powers that can induce immortality and "vampirism" is very creative.

SPOILER
The story of Brainiac otherwise know as Professor Millton Fine in Smallville is this;
"[A] being that was created as a computer system to [protect and] run Krypton.
General Zod wanted to take over Krypton's ruling council, [so] reprogrammed Brainiac, Zod tried to take over the planet with his help, but in doing so destroyed Krypton.
Brainaic survived and came to Earth [on the hull of the ship].
[And is] trying to convice Clark and seduce him into thinking [more about the big picture, and] to get him to step up and be more than he thinks he is."
Quote from James Marsters himself in issue 11 of the offical Smallville magazine.
Also extro info for you to know is Brainiac is made from Kryptonian Silver - and as such will be able to peutrate Clarks skin.
See my post titled Master Plan for more on Brainiacs sceme.
