I am very happy that Chloe is working for the Planet, that they showed the top of the building, the inside looked liked the set from Lois and Clark. I thought it was a very good episode, and it excellent use of Up Up and Away.

I'm so happy for her, even if it isn't real life!

Acutally I have a big problem with it. The writers keep messing with Chloe ace reporter and Lois future ace reporter. Its almost as if they have the two characters confused. Like the folks working on Chloe's story arc dont know that Lois has joined the cast or something.

How are we now supposed to believe that Lois and Clark become the Planet's top reporters. Chloe is a million times more talented than either of them at journalism. Heck, the Lois and Clark are only MARGINALLY interested in journalism at best.

So, we are left to presume that Chloe hooks them up with a job at the planet? We see how hard it is to get your foot in the door at the planet. Chloe had to write a yawner about a soreity of vamp chicks and back it up with facts, etc just to get in the basement.

Will Chloe die? Will Chloe be Lois after Lois dies? Erica Durance has nailed the part of Lois Lane. (and I know the show wont go that far, but) So I dont see how they could possilby fit Chloe into her shoes. Plus Clark would know.

The writers arent using that gray matter between their ears. Yes, for Chloe its great that she got a job at the planet. For the Superman Mythos its beyond retarded.

We don't really know what's going to happen. We don't know how Lois becomes interested in reporting. I'm interested to see what the writers come up with for Lois. But Clark has already expressed an interest in journalism -- in that "Where I Plan to Be in Five Years" paper he wrote for the principal at Smallville High.

As for Chloe, she belongs at the Planet -- at least for now. I'm glad to see her there. She's earned it. The thing I'm wondering about is when this narrative took place. From how far into the future is Chloe speaking? I find that intriguing.

Well, I thought of a scenario nobody's explored yet...and it doesn't involve doing away with Chloe!!!

Now suppose she works her way up on the Planet, becomes a good reporter....no, a great reporter....ends up getting a job internationally, either with the Planet or another paper. Her job position is open and Lois gets the gig as she's now got some journalism under her belt (and a mighty fine looking belt judging by her waist in "Aqua" :D ).

hahahaha!!

Liked that last line about Lois' bikini belt!

However, l looked at the episode several times and I think I believe she was just narrating of "going through the process" of compiling the information for a story, as challenged by Pauline Kahn.

The writers of 'Thirst' episode may have thought it 'pithy" or witty to have Chloe narrate her "present" experience with the editor of the Daily Planet.

Note what she says at the end of her narrative describing the solution of the events surrounding the vampire disease and her roommate leaving for NYU.

She says:
"...and once again Lana and I are under the same roof..."

Note the word "are" as in present tense as speaking in the here and now, if you catch my meaning here??

When Chloe got the job at the Daily Planet, it was great. I'm so happy for her, and you know there'll be some cool episodes with her working there. After all, previous Smallville High Torch editor is pretty good with reporting!

If I remember correctly, after she said that there was a break where they showed Clark & Lana talking after which they cut back to Chloe at the very end. That part with her talking at the very end must be from a different point in time. There's no way she could say that superhero thing unless it's the future, or if there is another superhero that works there (doubtful). She even says the future paper of superheroes.

I know, maybe Chloe = Supergirl. Long live Chlara!! She must be lying about her powers to Clark. Or maybe in this realm, Jor-El gives her powers since he knows how close she is to Clark. Haha!!

Well there is some disagreement here.

To clarify that superheroes part----it went "...the paper of 'record' of Presidents, Kings and...future Superheroes..."

I took that part to mean 'those prestigious persons whose acts/achievements were documented/recorded by that newspaper same as a New York Times paper will document/'record' certain noteworthy acts/achievements.

Can not get political here----a topic outside this forum.

But that roommate thing still is the kicker here or unless it is the writer's gaffe/mistake in script.

Well the debate may continue later. Signing off.

or maybe was talking about clark being a great superhero in the future someone the daily planet would write about like kings and other famous people who don't work at the planet

I still don't get why she would mention superheroes if she was talking from the present. She may see a future superhero in Clark, but this is questionable. If you're right and she meant it as in the achievements of presidents, kings, and superheroes, then it may be believable that it came from the present, and that is if she truly does believe in superheroes. Maybe she thinks AC and Bart will be superheroes. If she added superheroes to say that a superhero will work there, then it has to be from the future.

Much as I love the future idea (and she did use one past-tense term), she has already called Clark a superhero. The question is - what has the paper yet "recorded" about Clark? Don't think she knows about the stuff he did when he was Kal.

no she added superheros as in the daily planet will write about future superheros or she would have said not to mention a future superhero

Yes, well it seems that superhereo part is the main sticking point we can't get past.

But still believe it was 'a narrative' to the "watching/listening audience" of her process of story telling as she was typing on her computer.

Well I think it was an enjoyable part of the episode for those of us watching Chloe land the big job---not the position, which she has to work her way up to.

I think its a nice touch to have Chole working there. We get to see how her and Clark will work together to save people. I think its a great touch to show Clark one step closer to fulfilling his destiny.
