I thought Crater lake was full of kryptonite, so why did Clark not have any problems swimming in it?

I'm pretty sure since someone fell into the lake and became a meteor freak in season 1.

Maybe it is just not near the part of the lake where they were.

The lake could be really big.

it was the kid that got trapped under the ice, the episode was called freeze or something. i thought about that last night too..

The reason its called crater lake is because it was created by the meteor shower, so the bottom is full of kryptonite

I wondered about that before the ep aired. In the episode "Cool" they show the bottom of the lake covered with green K. I guess it didn't fit in with their story line. Or maybe Clark had Pete clear it all out before he moved away.:p
