Where was the rest of the Cast?

No Ma and Pa kent, 2 scenes with lana, 2 with chole no Lionel. I guess no way to fit them into this episode.

This ep was really just about pairs. Clark Lois. Clark A.C Lois A.C. Clark Lex. Lex A.C.

TPTB focused on the story, they didn't try to shove characters down our throats, except for Lois. (I'm OK with that)

I think they're trying to stall some of the storylines ... for instance they show Clark and Lana kiss and Lois makes comments about Clana sex (my god I used the abbreviation...) but Clark and Lana never really talk to each other. This allows the show to give the illusion they're still happily together, nookin it up and hiding things from each other. There really wasn't any reason to have interaction between them to further that plot and Lana didn't have anything to do with the main plot of the show. Chloe was in a similar situation.

I think the main thing that was being represented is that Clark for the first time recognized another superhero as a peer. Previously he had pretty much treated others like sidekicks or enemies. I think it was a growing experience in that he learned he had more in common with the outsider than Lex who he had been supposedly 'close' to. It's more important to have friends and allies who believe in the same things you do than have ones that happen to be nearby.
