AC: Maybe we should start up a Junior Lifeguard Association or something.
Clark: I don't think I'm ready for the JLA just yet.
woo-hoo! :D

I knew you guys would catch that. Even my Mom caught it. lol Did you guys also hear about The Flash? A kid that ran too fast for his own good.

I caught it as soon as A.C. said 'Junior Lifeguard Association', and I got excited, and then Clark said 'JLA' and I got even more excited'.
I also laughed at the 'Superboy' joke thrown in too.:p

THAT WAS HORRIBLE !!!
I mean, I get the JLA reference, but the set up for it was stupid - and the delivery was awful. Junior Lifeguard Association?!? and Clark leaps from that to JLA- horrible horrible horrible.
It's like they just tossed in those two lines as an afterthought. Now, last year when Bart said "we should start like a club or league or something" THAT was very cool. THIS was terrible.

I thought it was cute! lol. A little silly, but a cute little reference. it made me smile.

I did like how they made reference to the episode Run... also im glad Clark said a kid that ran too fast for his own good instead for reminding Chloe about the guy she met in the coffee shop almost exactly a year or so ago... its like hes protecting the secret.. identity thing... even though Chloe and him have such a trust thing and talking going on for them... which i like very much.. i like this season a lot more than others coz they seem to have a lot more talking.. i mean they dont leave u wanting more of a converse... i dont know if im getting across clearly enough but hey.. i decided to give the drinking game a try.. after it was suggested in the last episode forum.

I too liked the reference. I thought it was appropriate. I liked that the stayed consistant, which is something the writers tend not to do. It's like giving a shout out to someone, you can't do it for the one guy (Bart) and not do it for A.C. It's a nice tip to the comics and mythology, and I thought it was well done. It was a great line.

Is it just me or is Aquaman pretty useless outside of the water? Lex had it right. In the water he may be top man but on land he's guppy. :-) Oh and yeah I loved the JLA ref. He's the second character to suggest The Flash was the first one wasn't he?

JLA reference was outstanding!! Not sure if it was as good as Bart's "maybe we'll start like a club or a leage or something".

Hey, I loved the reference :)
And I loved that Clark is finally realizing himself as having been very naieve (or however you spell it). The BDA may grow up yet.
JLA....yay!

I agree with you guys. The line before was not very good. They could have found something else for the letters. Barts line was a lot better but this was still cool.

This is certainly giving all those Justice League to appear/help Clark theories more clout.
Look at who we have so far.
Superman
Aquaman
Flash
Im begining to believe they may do exactly that. Im sure at some point they will bring in GL(whichever guy) and Martian Manhunter(more than likely in human form).

Right... lol, so when do they bring in Supergirl a.k.a Kara Kent?

I would love to see GL. GL is my second favourite DC superhero.
Anyways, I along with most of you also loved the Justice League reference. Great stuff.

I thought it was great because they disguised it. I had no idea where they were going with it when Aquaman started talking about Junior lifeguards.

Yeah a little more cheesy than the reference in Run, but still, it was point blank! "No I'm not ready to join the JLA right now" was still pretty darn funny. :D

I didn't even hear Clark say "JLA". I could have sworn he said "jail" or "cell" - you know, since A.C. was kinda' implying that they should use more extreme force to take down threats against the environment. Oh well.

well i didn't think he actually would dry up for being out of water.
but whatever. hehe.
what we do see, though, is that as long as he isn't too dry, he does have extra strength too. so he's not totally useless out of water.
i got the reference to JLA when AC mentioned the Junior Lifeguard Association. I just didn't expect Clark to actually come back with JLA.
I think fans would have made the connection just fine.
Now maybe this would have been a better line:
AC: I think we should start the Junior Lifeguard Association or something.
Clark: <makes a face> Oh, no! not another idea for a league or group.

I think it was clever how they worked it in cuz i was wondering are they going to do another league refernce and they did and it was awsome
