"I need to balance"

"I'll swim you later" Did he really say that one?

Clark: (to Lois) Lois, I think your new boyfriend is foul...
Lois: More like a fish actually
Chloe: Which is it, fish or fowl?

Lois calling him "fishstick" was a bit over the top.

If someone counted all the references it would probably be over 20. Like AC saying he was just going to float around, see where the current takes him. I mean it's like they were tyring to put in a water type references everywhere they possibly could, and then some.

there were a lot of meaningless references/jokes, but his dialogue with lois made sense to me

how often have you found yourself talking and using words in a double context? you know exactly what you mean, but the other person is led otherwise... but you need to say it in that way, or else you haven't expressed yourself...

I think it was the only really good line that he had in the episode. That and the line about using his gifts to help the world

Clark to Lois:

"Am I the only one who thinks there's something fishy about this guy?"

I'm surprised Lex didn't say, "I'd make you swim with the fishes, but something tells me that's the norm for you".

They went way over top with the meaningless references/jokes, Way over the top. Too much for me, to bad they didn't ton it down.

Kinda makes me wonder how long it'll be before we get the first "Brainiac" joke. Any thoughts as to how it'd be pulled off? Maybe:

Lex: "You seem to have taken a shine to your new professor"
Clark: "He knows a lot and is a genius. He's quite a brainiac."

Fine: "...and make sure you check out how Luthorcorp affects Smallville economically"
Clark: "Will do"
Chloe: "Wow, you're getting to be quite a brainiac, Clark"
Clark: "No way, the professor's the only brainiac around here"
