At the end when Chloe is talking with Clark, Chloe is trying to bring Clark to tell Lana his secret because she knows more then anyone that he really wants to be with her.

"I cant expect her to have the same reaction as you" WOW! Now we really see that Clark wont give Lana the benefit of the doubt even though Chloe even told him thats it her choice not his.

Clark has put in him such a fear of Lana rejecting him for what he has done that now its going to make his relationship go down the drain. Even though that relationship counts more then anything for him. Why doesnt he realizes this? Hes making the choice for her, because he thinks he already knows how shes going to react, but the truth is he doesnt... I was hoping that he would have learned a little from Chloe, but i guess i was wrong.

"I cant take that risk!" What risk? The risk of losing her because you tell her the truth? HELLO! your going to lose her if you dont!

Now, because Jor-El said that someone he loves will take his place, he surely fears of getting to close with Lana because he doesnt want her to go.

Ironically, Scare was on ABC Family tonight, right before this episode was on the WB. And I'd imagine her reaction (even in his dream/fear), is still on his mind. And while he doesn't know what she would do in real life, he thinks he knows, and lets face it, he's a very fragile kid, still. Being rejected by Lana would crush him, IMO, so he chooses to not even tempt fate that way.

He loves her so much, and let's face it his truth is greater then anyone elses. He doesn't want to be without her now. He isn't thinking long term, but as you two have said Clark will crush the relationship by the end of this season.

Seriously though, Clark should have NOTHING to fear. He has confided in Lana to the point of giving it up. Out with the truth boy! You got your powers back!

Please feel free to call me an idiot as I didn't catch this relation...

...I expect the "idiot" doses to be sparing, unless you're ruthless.

Good point but, all of his fears were placed in him firmly by ma & pa Kent. Years of telling him no clark- don't - you can't, what if.

How could he be expected to share anything with anyone. Alicia had powers of her own yet that wasn't good enough. Not even Pete his childhood friend could escape the long gaze of supect from them. It's just a matter of time before he tells them Chloe knows and we have another "TALK" about he danger of someone knowing about him.

Not once have they encoraged him. :(

I think the poster means that he doesn't want to get close to Lana, for fear of Jor-El picking her as the 'life of someone you love will be sacrificed'...etc, so on and Kryptonian Blowhard Speech Number 34.

When Clark tell him he doesn't want his powers back Jor-el tells him it to late. So I guess the choice is already made if it's to be Lana the wheels in already motion

Yeah on ABC family they showed Clark's fear of Lana blaming him for her parents death.

Not only does Clark have to tell her that he's not human and has superpowers, but he also has to tell her he has been lying all of this time and that his arrival is the reason her parents are dead (which isn't his fault).

i know it seems like Clark should tell her, and eventually i think he will, but i've had a real big secret in my life before, and a g/f ask me about it, and its hard to be truthful when it could mean losing her, i know from experience... eventually my truth came out and so will his, its just not time yet

I do feel that if Clark does tell Lana She'll feel betrayed and stuff... kinda like Lex but not as angry. He's he one that said "no more secrets, no more lies"... He's keeping the secret because he feels that he's responsible for Lana's misfortunes... He is kinda responsible for most of them anyways.

okay, i know i may be only one who thinks this, but what if clark has already told lana his secret and he is protecting lana by lying to chloe about it?

Believe me, this kind of Tv-Show event doesnt go unnotice, especially the secret of Clark Kent to Lana Lang. Nope, she knows zilch...

I think hes just afraid to tell her that hes been lying to her the whole time, even when he said "No more secrets, no more lies.." What an idiot! Even if he was human and didnt think it mattered 'cause its all in the past..' he should have told her that he was an alien. How can he even go around to sleeping with her without her knowing? He should have given her that right! If I was Lana, I'd be pissed. Now Clark is going to start the lieing cycle again, Lanas going to know that somethings up, throw the no more secrets, no more lies line back in his face, she starts pushing him which leads to Clark to pull away, BLAHBLAHBLAH, geez! Clana is so predictable. Of course, theres the possibility that Clark will get it over with and just tell her already!
