Do you think that the Nuke explosion in space released them from the Phantom Zone like in Superman II?
Maybe they'll be returning later this season somehow, and we will actually get to see a real fight with Clark.
Not like the lame one in Arrival. :p

I hope they come back too. That fight was horrible.

I heard that they went way over budget for Arrival. Im guessing thats why they couldnt do as much with the fight in the mansion.

I thought this thought exactly when CK was in space taking care of the nuke. This is a possibility if you follow the movie story. Why not take it a step further then....how about Zod AND his disciples vs. CK/Superman ala Superman II ? This I would love to see at some point near the series' end.
Hmm I don't know, seems a bit too obvious.
Though AlMiles aping of the films is laying it on rather thick as is.

I want them to show up EVERY episode!
- they appear for three minutes and every character takes turns to kick them yet again back into the Phantom Zone
"Hey, they killed, er, kicked Aethyr!"
"You Bast-ards!"

Nah, read the spoilers. They probably aren't coming back in the near future. And for this, they probably need to get them back next epi or possibly the epi after AT THE EARLIEST.
It's not like he can explode a nuke, then six months later the shock waves can explode the PZ and then they find their way back for the finale. Science just doesn't work that way.

I am betting money that those two will be freed from the Phantom Zone by the explosion. :)

Smallville is a place where a super-human can have his powers turned off at sunset, rebuild a whole wrecked house in a few weeks, be shot and killed and resurrected by "the balance of nature" killing someone else off "sometime" in the unspecified future.
A bomb in "Hidden" openning the Phantom Zone in the Season 5 closeing episode is a CLASSIC example of how science works in "Smallville"!!!

I was wondering how long it'd take for someone to bring that up. :p
Actually, I don't think the part about kiling someone else off sometime in the unspecified future is true. I think that the "someone else" was Jor-El and the sacrafice was already made.

I agree! :D

Considering the way the phantom zone was designed after the zone in the movies and the exploding of the bomb only two episodes later, I would be surprised if the Kryptonians did not return (but then I'm still waiting for Bart Allen to return).
Just because they get freed from the phantom zone this week does not mean they have to immediately come to Smallville. They've been trapped in a spaceship, then in the phantom zone-maybe they'll develop some sense and take a vacation in Aruba first. (Anyway-there really isn't a problem coming up with a plausibel explanation for them not immediately showing up)

I like this theory but the only thing I dont like is the fact that later years in Clarks life, wouldnt he NOT make the same mistake twice.. I mean, if it happen already once when he was younger, I doubt he would do it again when he got older seeing as though he'd think it'd have the same effect somehow.
Though, Smallville doesnt really think of the fture Superman image, so they may just do it.

someone said that it's not going to release them and then they'll come back in 6 months
well... In the movie the explosion only cracked the PZ. It showed the explosion and them breaking out. But who is to say that there wasn't time in between this that they were trying to force their way out. In Superman2 if that explosion and the escape all happened the same day then the astronauts all would have died out there. The EMP sent out by the blast would have stranded them if the explosion itself didn't hit them.
